Inspiration

In today's fast-paced business environment, teams often struggle to effectively communicate complex ideas and strategies. Mindy was born from the realization that visual thinking can dramatically improve team collaboration and decision-making. I wanted to empower enterprises with a tool that could instantly transform their thoughts into clear, shareable visuals, bridging the gap between ideation and execution.

What it does

Mindy is an AI-powered Canva app that creates mindmaps and flowcharts based on user input. Users simply enter a topic or concept, and Mindy generates a visual representation, saving time and enhancing creativity in the process.

How I built it

I first used AI to understand the topic user entered and then get relevant data. I developed an algorithm to map these structures onto Canva's design space, ensuring optimal layout and readability.

Challenges I ran into

One of the major challenges was developing an algorithm to efficiently map shapes and text onto the Canva canvas. This required numerous iterations and fine-tuning to achieve a satisfactory result. While it's not perfect, I'm proud of the progress I made. Another significant hurdle was working within Canva's element limit. To overcome this, I added shapes and text as a group which again required some changes in the logic. Additionally, placing text inside shapes presented its own set of challenges.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I'm particularly proud of creating a tool that can significantly streamline enterprise communication and strategy visualization. Also created an intuitive user experience that requires minimal input to generate complex visual outputs, that saves lot's of time & energy which user can use to explore the idea further.

What I learned

This project deepened my understanding of AI-driven content generation, particularly in creating mindmaps. I gained valuable experience in solving complex positioning issues within Canva. The process also enhanced my skills in integrating AI within Canva.

What's next for Mindy

This is just the beginning, I can see myself working on Mindy to build it as an indispensable tool for enterprise strategy and communication. I envision Mindy becoming an essential tool for teams, startups, and individuals to kickstart their ideation process. Its visuals can be leveraged for blogs, exploratory learning, and presentations.

Whether users are creating a mood board to capture the essence of a brand, mapping out a detailed user journey to refine your customer experience, or collaborating on a future plan to guide your organization's growth, I want Mindy to be there, turning your ideas into vivid, actionable visuals

In the future, I plan to expand Mindy's capabilities to include:

By continually expanding the types of diagrams available, I aim to make Mindy the go-to tool for visual thinking and communication across various fields and industries and improve it with feedback from the Canva team and its users.
