Inspiration

Stack Hop is a cozy, mobile first stacking game built entirely around the job of simple timing. I wanted to create a world that felt immediately approachable on portrait mode something player could tap, hop and relax with while still chasing a little mastery. The inspiration came from classic timing games and the satisfying feel of watching something stack higher and higher, paired with my ongoing interest in crafting warm, inviting mobile experiences in Meta Horizon Worlds.

What it does

Core Mechanic - tap to jump, timed landing Combo Bonus - perfect landings earn multipliers that can boost players final score Mastery Score - each level saves highest score achieved to encourage replay

The core mechanic is intentionally simple: tap to jump, land accurately, and watch your score climb. Perfect landings trigger special feedback and bonus points, and every run ends with a clear, friendly summary that shows progress. Sc

How we built it

This game was built using typescript, blender, VSCode copilot and the Meta Horizon Desktop Editor. I started with the main mechanic and layered more interaction as I had time.

Challenges we ran into

I didn't have a lot of time to put towards this competition but really wanted to attempt a portrait mode game. I'm glad I did because I had fun keeping things as simple as possible. Copilot was a big help with finding bugs that were hiding in my code.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I'm proud to have made my first mobile only single player game as a solo project. I'm proud with how fast I was able to make this game, with the little time I had available.

What we learned

I learned portrait's mode limited view means being creative about what is and what's not shown.

What's next for Stack Hop

I plan to add more outfits that can be unlocked as you progress through levels and more environments and stack objects. I also want to add a world PPV for more mastery competition.
