Inspiration
Many talented students struggle to get visibility and access to opportunities, especially when they don’t have strong networks or platforms to showcase their skills. I wanted to build a simple and beginner-friendly solution that allows students to share their profiles while demonstrating how technology can help bridge the gap between talent and opportunity.
What it does
TechTalent Hub is a web-based prototype that collects student talent profiles, including skills, experience, and contact details. The idea is to create a central place where companies or recruiters could later discover potential candidates more easily.
How i built it
The project was built as a web prototype using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Firebase Firestore was used as a backend database to store submitted profiles. AI tools (kimi ai)were used to assist with brainstorming, UI ideas, and debugging, while the overall logic, structure, and integration were implemented manually during the hackathon.
Challenges i ran into
As a beginner, setting up Firebase and connecting the frontend to the database was challenging. Understanding form validation, async operations, and managing errors took time, but these challenges helped improve my problem-solving skills.
Accomplishments that we’re proud of
Successfully building a working multi-step form prototype Integrating Firebase Firestore for data storage Completing and submitting my first hackathon project
What i learned
I learned how to design a prototype under time pressure, connect a frontend to a cloud database, and responsibly use AI as a development assistant rather than a replacement for learning.
What’s next for TechTalent Hub
In the future, this project could include recruiter dashboards, authentication, profile search, and better data privacy controls. It could evolve into a full talent discovery platform.
