The Exit 8 game and the Movie Gravity (2013)

What it does

UNGRAVITY is a first-person VR psychological anomaly game for the Meta Quest 2. The player is trapped in an unknown dimension and must find the way out by constantly checking for subtle anomalies in the environment (like The Exit 8). Proceed only if the path is clear; a single mistake is fatal.

How we built it

Developed for the Meta Quest 2 using Unreal Engine. We focused on creating an efficient, dynamically shifting environment while maintaining a stable frame rate for an immersive VR experience.

Challenges we ran into

Optimization for the mobile VR chipset (Quest 2) and meeting the strict development time constraints.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We successfully delivered a complete, polished core experience right on time, validating the core anomaly-detection mechanic in VR.

What we learned

The project emphasized the critical importance of effective time management and strong team collaboration under a tight deadline.

What's next for UNGRAVITY

Our immediate goal is to fully finish the game, expanding on the environmental features and building a conclusive ending to the narrative.

Hello everyone! We are very excited to participate in the Meta Horizon Start Developer Competition. To be honest, this is the very first Android VR Standalone game the two of us have created. We spent about 3 weeks developing it, working 4–6 hours a day, using Unreal Engine 5.6 with a mix of C++ and Blueprints. We hope you enjoy checking out our project!
