Who are NFTC Trained individuals?


Individuals trained in NFTC are a diverse group from many walks of life. The directory includes professional therapists, lay counselors, individuals involved in ministry, community advocates, life coaches, artists, and more, all of whom have received various levels of training in NFTC from the Allender Center.

As you navigate the directory, you'll encounter individuals with varying levels of NFTC  training:


Level I Trained

These individuals have foundational knowledge in the psychological and theological frameworks of NFTC and have had the opportunity to experience applying NFTC to their own story. 


Level II Trained

These individuals have more in-depth knowledge of NFTC and have had the opportunity to use NFTC to facilitate story work in working with others.


Level III Trained

These individuals have completed advanced NFTC training and have had opportunities to receive substantial coaching and training in story work facilitation and group facilitation.


NFTC Certified

This designation indicates individuals have completed the NFTC Level III training (or have satisfied its equivalent requirements); applied for the NFTC Certified designation; and have had their NFTC knowledge and NFTC-related skills reviewed by an Allender Center review committee. The committee grants the designation only after it has determined that the Individual has demonstrated a certain level of knowledge and skills in NFTC to help others better understand their stories through the NFTC approach. Please note, the NFTC Certified designation does not indicate whether the individual is licensed, or otherwise legally authorized to provide any services
