25 Days and counting!

Believe it or not, there are only 25 more days of sixth grade! It has been a wonderful year and I appreciate all those who have helped me grow and learn during my first year of teaching. Next week is a busy week, please make note of the following events:

Monday: Field Trip to Space Camp (leaving the school at 8:30, please be on time!)
Tuesday: Science CRT, section 1
Wednesday: Science CRT ,section 2

As we start our studies of Europe, your child has chosen a country to report on. This country report is due May 18th. Please encourage your child to work on his/her report every single day. There is a lot of research to be done (at home and school) and it is important to take this project little by little. Your child will be completing an ABC book, along with an oral report that will be presented in class on the week of May 18-22. Thank you for your support.

As most of you know, FM100 came to our class on Thursday February, 26th. It was a blast! The radio stations chooses one OUTSTANDING class per month to visit and have a pizza party with. It was a great experience! For those who listen to that station, you would know Brian and Rebecca. They came to our class (with a dozen pizzas!) and congratulated us for working hard on reading and doing great in school. It was a great learning experience for everyone, we talked about the meaning of the pledge of alligance and payed tribute to our flag. Then, they recorded our class reciting the pledge that will be posted in about a week on FM100.com. Check the website, where you will find our class posted and also those students who decided to recite the pledge alone will be aired on the radio in the near future! Congratulations to our whole class for working hard and striving for excellence!
