Christmas 2009

We spent Christmas with Verns family. It was a wonderful day and the kids all had a good time. All of the adults were up before the kids, we were all so excited! Gracie was up earlier, but we convinced her to lay down for a little while longer and she went back to sleep. I love this picture of the kids! Their hair is my favorite:) Vern built me night stands. I love them!! You can kind of see one in the picture. We had a great time!!Image

Winter

Over the past week we have had A LOT of snow! We got about 22 inches. The kids have had a blast in it! They decided to make a little snowman, that turned out pretty cute. Then when they came in they wanted to eat the icicles that were hanging off the house. I am sure they are filled with many vitamins! It has been a cold, but fun winter so far. Image

ImageThey all had to use towels or some thing to hold on to the icicles:)

Good Changes...............

There have been a few changes over this last week and I wanted to share them. Vern got called to be the Assistant Ward Clerk in our ward. It is the perfect calling for him and I am so excited that he gets this opportunity! He will basically be in charge of the ward finances, which he will do great at. I also got a new calling. I am going to be the secretary in the Young Womens. I am looking forward to it. I haven't been in there since I was in there 10 years ago, so I am a little nervous, but excited too. I know we are going to learn a lot from these callings and I look forward to getting to know the girls. The next new change is a new baby will be coming into our family in August . We are so excited and can't wait to meet this new little person! We have waited for a year and a half and it is finally here and we couldn't be happier! We really have been blessed this past year! We have had a job and we live in a wonderful little town. We are surrounded by good people and we have so many great friends! I love this time of year, when we get to focus on the Savior and the incredible sacrifice he made for us. I am truly thankful for family! Not only do I have an amazing family, but I married into one as well. I am looking forward to this next year and to starting a new chapter in our lives! And I can't WAIT for Christmas!! My kids are so excited and watching them brings back so many memories of when I was young. I love this time of year!

Christmas Tree + 3

Vern and the kids went with Duke to get a tree and they came home with 3! The kids thought they should have one in their rooms. It was getting dark when they left, so they didn't have a lot of time to look and this is what they came home with:) It is a really sad little tree, but the kids love it and mostly decorated it them selves. Next year we will try to get out earlier, so we can get a fuller tree:) But for now this is it!Image
Image This is Daniels tree.................
Imageand this the girls tree. They even made their own decorations:)
ImageI love my village! The problem is the kids love it too and they love to touch it, so they are learning to just look!

So Much To Be Thankful For!!

We took the kids to see the lights and the Nativity at the Temple last night. It was so beautiful and the kids loved it! We went in to the visitors center too. It was such a good reminder of this this Holiday season is all about. I am so grateful for the gospel! I don't know where I would be with out it! It brings me so much piece and comfort! I love that we both have such amazing families that we can share it with. Who give us so much guidance. I was looking at my kids on the Temple grounds and thinking how blessed I am that we get to be together for ever!! There is no greater blessing! The Temple is so lovely this time of year, you all need to go out and see it!!!

ImageOn the way home we drove around and looked at Christmas lights. It is a tradition that we do every year. This house won the award for the most lights! Every inch of the yard was lit up!! I wouldn't want to pay their electric bill!

The Food

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year! We had LOTS of good food and good company! We had it with Verns family this year. We all ate too much, but that's part of it right? I am so thankful for good food and good family!!

I also wanted to say that the next day a few of us went out shopping on black Friday and got some great deals! I also got to spend a little time with some of my family, just the girls, and it was really fun! We had a great weekend!!Image

Baby Lex

I finally got to meet little Lex on Thanksgiving day and he is so sweet! I got to hold him for a t least an hour! I could have just held him all day! He is so cuddly and adorable! The kids all took turns holding him and he got lots of loves! I think it made me want one even more:) ImageI didn't really take the time to get great pictures of him, but you can get an idea of how cute he is!
Image I love the backs of babys heads......don't know why I just do:)

Christmas Lists..............

I love when the kids write their Christmas lists to Santa. It is so fun to see what they write! At the top of both Gracie and Leahs, they put "I love Christmas and I believe in you." Which I thought was so cute! I know the time is coming soon when they will figure out the truth about Santa, but until then I am enjoying their innocence. On all of the girls list they asked for the basic girl things, a doll, a barbie, art stuff, and a few other things. But the best part about it was in big letters along the side it said," Most of all I want a new home." I guess we watch too much Extreme Home Makeover:) The kids love to watch what they do with the bedrooms and the rest of the house and they think it would be really fun to be on that show. Daniel put down things like a remote control car, air plane, helicopter, ect. Which is better than what he kept asking for, which was a four wheeler and a motorcycle. Any thing that has to do with wheels:) over all they asked for pretty basic things, but asking for a new house was the best! We are going through bedrooms and finding toys to give to the DI for those who might not be able to afford brand new things. This has been a tradition every year, to try and teach them that Christmas is about giving. We are also trying to find a family in need, that we can do some thing nice for. I really want them to be able to experience the joy of giving to others. I love this time of year and hope all of you have a wonderful Holiday Season!!

Playing Dress up

ImageThese earrings came with a lot that I won off of ebay and I thought they were so funny! Isabelle won't take them off and she had to put a dress on as well. We turned music on and danced, because when you get all dressed up, you have to dance! She's so funny...I just love her:)
ImageShe is saying cheese! I tryed to get her to just smile "normal," but this is what I got.

She loves getting into peoples cars. If we ever go any where and I can't find her, I just look out side and sure enough she is in some ones car. This usually only happens when we go to friends homes or to the church for lunch bunch, but still it drives me crazy! She loves to get in and shut the door, then get out and do it all over again. I have tryed to talk to her about it and she just says, "but mom, I like to drive!" I don't know what I am going to do with her!

Fohawk.....No Mohawk!!

Daniel has never cared about how his hair was done, until now. Yesterday we were getting ready for church, and he comes up to me and says"I want a Mohawk." I tryed to talk him out of it, but he only wanted his hair that way. So Vern did it for him. He loved it! He was quite proud of his hair, so much that he wanted it the same way for preschool! So if you see us around and he has this hair do, just know it wasn't my idea!!! I think they are called Fohawk....but I am not sure and he wouldn't let me call it that anyways! "It's a Mohawk," he says:)ImageIt was cold out and Isa wasn't sure if she could smile.........
