Last Sunday we started getting snow about 10am. and it snowed til about 5 am Monday Morning. Here is the wonderful effects it had at home. Now remember where Maisey is helping to Shovel was completely clear from all prior snows. That was just the ammount from that snow...about 16-18 inches from one storm. ALso you can see in one of the other photos the Snow is just about up to the top(or where the top would be if we left it on for the winter) of the trampoline....that is all the snows combined. Come on now, doesn't everybody want to move to Maine now?????

First Real SNOW

Today we had our first real snow!!! I am a little suprised because it is so late in the month. We have actually had 2 little snows, one 2 days before Halloween, and the other a few days ago, but nothing really stuck. Well today we had the most beutiful big snowflakes and it was perfect powder!!!! The First thing Maisey said when she woke up was "Can I go make a snow angel mom?" It was so cute so we got all bundled and went outside. I couldn't get the camera fast enough after getting myself bundled, she had already made one and was off to make a snowman. I had to bribe her to get her to come back for another one just so I could get a picture! We saved the face for Aubreigh to help with when she got home from school, but by 3:00 pm the rain started falling and the 5-6 inces of powder had turned to slush and "Curly" was no more.
(Sorry the pictures are so huge!!!! If someone could help me fix that???? LOL!!! You have to click on the photo to see the whole thing...lol!!!)

Halloween 2008

Sorry I am a slowtard about blogging!!! Thanks for the positive encouragement Megan!!! So our Halloween this year was really fun and totally different!!!
Our really good friends Brett and Kelli moved a few months ago and getting schedules together can be a little crazy...so we knew for sure we had to have Halloween with them this year. We went to a party at her Mom's with her kids and all the cousins. It was alot of fun as they really go all out!!!! It would make my AZ friends proud!!!! Penny (Kelli's mom) Throws a Party like Steph!!! After a yummy potluck dinner of homemade soups and a few games for the kids, Kelli's Stepdad took the kids trick-or-treating house by house being pulled on a hay wagon hooked to his quad. It was really neet to see all homes on the lake(so gorgeous), it reminded me alot of being in AZ with the tight-nit community and all the families out together, everyone knowing everybody...etc. That was a blast
The best part of the night was after the party we decided to go to the cemetary. Not just any Cemetary but seriously probably one of the coolest experiences of my life!!!!! Now in Maine there are cemetarys EVERYWHERE...you see little ones here and there, they are just all over the place. There are only a hanful of really big ones. This one in Gorham was as big as the Mesa cemetary and on Halloween they have a special tradition that was started 18 years ago by the family that lives across the street. Apparently 18 years ago when the Grandfather passed away, because he loves Halloween so much His family decorated his grave with Jack-o-lanterns at Halloween. Other families started to follow suite and now 18 years later, every headstone in the has one on Halloween night. There are 3 men that do it. They grow their own pumkins, carve them all, and Halloween day place them (at least 2000 or more) people come from all over to see this, and by 4am Nov 1, everything is cleaned up and gone. It was so amazing!!!! I seriously cannot describe enough how it looked and for certain these pictures could never do it justice. There were literally THOUSANDS of pumpkins.

The Logic of a 3 year old!

Image
Never in my life have I encountered someone so animated and funny! Everyday I laugh at her for something so innocent, her maisey-isms totally crack me up! I don't know where this personality comes from...heaven knows neither Dale or I are that cute...I think she just totally scored in the gene pool lottery! Yesterday she says to me, with so much seriousness..."MOM! The leaves are totally falling off the trees! Lets get out there and put them back on!"

Country living totally stinks!!!!!!

Image

Just in case y'all didn't know we live in a cabin on 5 acres in the woods in Maine...podunkville small town population 1600. We have had fox in our driveway, deer, porcupines, even just last Wednesday we had a huge Bull Moose. I like it...but why does there now have to be a skunk too????

Less than a week ago While letting our 2 little adventuresome canines out to do the deed...They get sprayed by a skunk. We didn't even realize it until the door was already open...chasing them immediately back into the garage. I have been battling skunk stench every since. Aubreigh immediately researched a home remedy (since this all happened after 9pm.) In the mean time I am pouring tomato soup on them.....waiting for Aubreigh and Dale to gather the ingredients for the real recipe....I am gagging on the smell my tongue feels like it is swelling and all I can do is open the windows with the warm October 30 degree weather freezing out my house. I get through it. Friday we freeze from opening windows to clear the air. I open 10 boxes of Baking soda and place them throughout the house...My house smells like a cheap candle shop because I am burning every flavor I own...we suffer through this for the next 2 days...But things finally start to return to Normal and Dale prepares to head out of town for work for the next 2 days.

So fast forward to 11pm last night...I am missing Dale, My kids are cranky and not going to bed because they miss their dad...We should all be sound asleep and instead the puppies start ancying at the door like they need to go out to pee...so silly me, thinking that they are "trained" can just let them out, for all of about 5 minutes and we can return to the battles of bedtime. I go to the door to let them in and wouldn't you know it...stinky strikes again!!!!!It’s too late, I don't care let the stupid little boogers that didn't learn their lesson the first time freeze to death in the Garage..I will wash them when I get around to it...

Fast forward to today...I finally get around to it...I am emotionally prepared to battle the stench. Dale isn't home but I know if I do one puppy at a time we can get through this. So from memory I mix whatever the mixture was that Dale did...peroxide baking soda and dish soap....it doesn't matter how much really??? Right???? Well have you ever seen a dark haired person bleach their hair with peroxide???? Yep my little black mini schnauzers are now brown????? How now brown ....um dog!!!!!
