June 24 2013: We called the hospital at 5am, were told they were full and would get us in as soon as they could after waiting until 4 hrs without getting a call back I called them, which they said they were just about to call me. We were told to come in at 10. We checked in at 10, pitocin started at 11 and was dilated to a 3. Contractions started soon after pitocin was. 3 hours later still dilated at a 3, are you kidding me what are all these contractions doing, just causing me uncomfort, come on! Finally got water broken at 4:20, dilated to a 5, contractions really started to happen and they were strong!! Had enough of those epidural 35 mins later at 4:55, ah thats better, that was rough. The next 2 hrs fly by, fast! Teydon and my mom came to visit, Teyd didnt want much to do with me with all my IV'S and hospital gown, I think I scared him a little, he would only briefly touch me or hug me then wanted to go play, explore the hospital. Dan took him to the bathroom around 6:15 so just mom and I hanging out, the babies heart beat left on the monitor so they came in to have me switch sides and readjust the monitor. We had been playing hide and seek with the baby all day, he kept moving away from the monitor, didnt like us in his space very much. I didnt think too much about them adjusting it, been doing it all day. It was shift change with the nurses at the same time so they were going over everything. The nurse that had been with me all day mentioned how low she had to put the monitor but still I didnt think anything of it. At 6:25 She checked me and told the new nurse that I was complete and a 2+. Wait what am I dilated to? She repeats your at a 10 and the baby is 2+, meaning he's ready to come out. They start wheeling in the carts and say Dr. Blackett is just finishing up with surgery, she'll be here in 5 min. Wait she doesnt come until the baby is ready to be delevered, whats going on here?!!?? As they are wheeling in the carts Dan and Teydon return and Dan asks whats going on, "We're gonna have a baby, im dilated to a 10 and he's a 2+!" We totally thought it would be 11 at night before we would be doing this, where I was dilating so slow and only at a 5 at 4. "Mom its probably a good time to take Teyd to dinner." As she is gathering him up, theyve brought in the cart with the scissors and clamps and stuff. Teyd is a little panicky cause all this commotion has happened in 5 mins. As they are leaving Teydon tells the nurses and the Dr. "Dont hurt my mom!" And as he passes the scissor table, tells the Dr. "Dont use those on my mom!" I am totally numb from the epidural so tell the Dr. I hope I can do this, with Teydon it had worn off so I was able to feel the pressure of contractions and know when to push, not this time. 5 pushes and 1 contraction baby boy was here, at 6:43!!!! That was easy! I pushed for 2 hours with Teydon. Holy cow that all went by way so fast, I'm still wrapping my head around being dilated to a 10 and here im holding my precious baby in my arms. There was no time to prepare. Baby Brother decided he was ready to meet us and wasnt waiting any longer and he didnt.
We text my mom that they could come back in, they were at the door before the text was received, my mom said she couldnt keep Teydon away any longer. She said she was gonna take Teyd to KFC but when they got to the doors to go outside Teydon said he wasnt going outside he had check on mom, so they hung out in the cafeteria for a couple min then he had to come up and wait in the waiting room. He was pretty worried about his mommy, so so sweet!!! When he came in the room and saw baby brother, mom, and dad he had the biggest grin on his face! The nurses were so good with him, they thought he was the cutest thing ever, which he is! One was listening to BB's heart while Teyd was holding him, she was so cute and let Teydon have a turn listening. He was already the best big brother!
It took us a week but we named him Boden Ridge NewMyer, aka little Bo, Bo, Bod, and still baby brother!
