Amelia @ 7 months

This past month Amelia has really transitioned out of the newborn phase in my eyes.

 At 7 months:

• She is sitting on her own. She sits in the floor and actually plays with toys.
• loves to jump in her Johnny Jump Up
• She is still nursing but has added quite the repertoire of solid foods.  She has tried and loves: avocado, kale, applesauce, pear sauce, carrots, green beans, asparagus, zucchini, sweet potatoes, bananas, chicken, cantaloupe, cheerios. 
• has started sitting up in the bath tub and it has made baths 100% more enjoyable. She has even taken a few baths now with Oliver and thinks it is the best thing. Oliver puts on quite a show for her with his splashing and swimming and she finds it hysterical. 
• She is quite the chatterbox.  She loves to make noises and babble. She even says dada though she doesn't really assign it to Jeremy yet.
• Unlike her brothers, she doesn't transfer from the car to the house if she is asleep. :(  She seems to take a lot of mini naps during the day due to her brothers' schedules.
• is a bit of Mommy's girl (and I don't really mind it!)
• loves to take her socks off
• puts everything in her mouth, including her feet.

We love our little lady and feel so blessed to have her as part of our family!

 

Amelia @ 6 months

Happy half birthday to our sweet Amelia! This past year has been one of the fast of my life.  Overall Amelia is a sweet easy going baby.  She lights up a room with her chipmunk eyes and killer smile. We are all just smitten with her!

At 6 months:

• weighs 15 lb and 11.4 oz (53%)
• is 26.5 inches long (75%)
• has a 43 cm head (60%)
• has just started wearing 6-9 month clothes
• is still nursing every 3-4 hours
• sleeping through the night
• started eating solids about a week ago... we started with avocado and she loved it! She never spit it back out and just kept on going.  She was ready for some food!
• loves sitting in the high chair at the table with us for meals
• has started sitting up on her own
• loves her brothers and will smile super big when they talk to her. 

This month she also celebrated her first Christmas! 

Oliver is 3

Oliver is 3!! This little boy is so full of life that you can't help but smile when you see him.

At 3, he:

• weighs 37.2 lbs
• is  37.5  in tall
• wears 3T clothes,  size 9 shoe
• was potty-trained around 2 1/2 and is even now sleeping in underwear at night
• still sleeps with his dog Woofie every night. He sleeps in the top bunk of he and Owen's bunk beds. 
• is silly, often making up nonsense words or funny sounds
• loves to play make-believe, often being a dog, a superhero, or a knight.
• obsessed with the movie Planes and all things Dusty (the main character)
• loves Rescue Bots (preschool version of Transformers), Ninja Turtles, and Super Heroes
• has started playing with Owen's little Legos
• loves playing outside, esp anywhere he can dig
• loves playing with his siblings.  He is adorable when he sits and plays with Amelia in the floor.

One huge difference we have noticed with Oliver is his speech.  He talks so clearly and so well for his age. We often forget that he's only 3 because of the conversations he has with us.

Amelia @ 5 months

Amelia turned 5 months on Thanksgiving Day! She celebrated with the Piner side of the family at Papa and Nana's house.  She was passed around, snuggled, and played with all day long. She didn't mind a bit though. 

At 5 months:

• she really is such a smiley and expressive little girl. 
• She isn't sitting up quite yet but I don't think it will long until she is.  
• She likes tummy time and putting toys in her mouth.
• She is inconsistently sleeping through the night.  Most nights she is waking up once around 4 am. 
• She is still exclusively breastfed.  

It's hard to believe she is almost a half-year old!

Amelia @ 4 Months

At 4 months, she:

• weighs 13 lb. 11.8 oz    
• is 25.75 inches tall

Amelia @ 3 months

Our sweet little lady is 3 months old! 

Amelia at 3 months:

• No official doctor's visit
• wearing size 1 diapers and 3-6 month clothes
• was sleeping through the night and has relapsed in the last 2 weeks to waking up once in the middle of the night
• still exclusively breastfed.  In this last month, she has refused the bottle, therefore has become my little sidekick everywhere.
• Follows a good eat, wake, sleep pattern every 3 to 4 hours. 
• still loves to swaddled
• loves to be talked to and will give you the greatest smiles and coos back
• has been chewing on her hand a lot and drooling..will she be an early teether?
• does great in the church nursery on Sunday and Tuesday mornings (Bible study)
• loves her big brothers
• is getting better about riding in the car..she doesn't scream every time now
• took her first trip to the beach this past month

We love you sweet girl and pray that the Lord would continue to bless you. 

Owen @ 5 Years

On September 28th, our first baby turned 5!! 5?! 5 sounds so much older than 4.

Owen at 5:

• weighs 43 lbs (75%) and is 42.5 inches tall (45%)
• wears 5T tops and 4T bottoms
• is still a great eater..loves all fruits and veggies
• loves superheros, Ninja Turtles, and Legos
• still has to wear a pull-up at night
• loves playing with his brother and sister
• likes to help cook

Owen is still receiving speech therapy 2x a week for 30 minutes.  He continues to struggle with certain constants, like s and k, and sh. His studdering and mumbling  have improved. They are working with him to talk louder so people can understand him.  He will continue to work with his service coordinator on some academic areas, like counting consecutively and letters.  (He'll also get help for that in preschool.) 

He continues to attend preschool still 3x a week and is enjoying it, though he can never really tell me what he did when I pick him up. He will start kindergarten next year!! So crazy!
