Dumpster Headboard to Hanging Shelf

 Here we have a crappy headboard, pulled from the dumpster.  Not a mystery how it ended up there, right? So my brilliant client found it and thought it would make a cool GIGANTIC shelf for an office.

Here it is with the bottom portion cut off.

 I'm always in such a hurry that I forget to take pictures along the way.  I added bead board to the top, bottom, and sides.  I also found some trim I used to make false drawers, and added a strip of wood along the bottom for hooks. I wish the pictures captured the size of it.  It looks awesome!
 Here my cute son & husband are holding it for me.  As soon as it's hung in it's new office, I will share the pictures.  I bet the person who threw this in the dumpster never dreamed it had such a promising future!

Antique Sewing Table

This was a custom refinish for a sweet lady that is a quilter and wanted to make this table usable for quilting.  As you can see, the finish is chipping off...and not in a good way.  Especially if you're making quilts!

 Isn't the wood amazing on the front of this piece.  I stained it, instead of painting it to showcase this fun little detail.  Now it's functional and fun to look at!

Play Kitchen Made From An Old Entertainment Center

You may remember this play kitchen I made for my playroom.  It took me forever, but I thought with one under my belt, another would be a piece of cake.  Wrong!  There are so many little details to these kitchens!  Just gathering supplies is a project.  Well, lesson learned.  This will be my last kitchen, made for another lucky little girl to receive on Christmas morning.  Ho Ho Ho

 This is how it all started.  I have another one in my garage. Anyone that wants it can have for free!  I won't be needing it. :)  Update...the other entertainment center is gone!  Can't wait to see her new creation!

If you should decide to make such a kitchen, just know it's not cheap.  I spent a lot of time bargain shopping and still spent $157.  But, in the end you will have a high quality kitchen, custom made to your liking, and much more durable than the plastic kitchens you can buy for much cheaper.

This is a custom order for a lucky little girl to receive on Christmas morning. 

Don't you love the knobs from Pier 1?  Someday we will get a Hobby Lobby here in St. George, but until then Pier 1 has some pretty cute stuff!
