draw Gabby draw!

I put this down for a while but am coming back to it to finally add color!

I’m using my sketchbook to help me plan my color palette. I haven’t always done this, but with my last couple pieces with detailed linework I’ve found this helpful to avoid regrets once I start adding color. I blob out colors I plan to use, then I make a super rough copy of the drawing, and finally I loosely paint the rough sketch.

I really like this one! I inked some paper and cut it out for the collar. The rest is mulberry paper or speckly card stock. Gold ink for the details. 8.5x11"

I painted on watercolor paper and yupo paper and then cut them into the larger shapes. I added some lavender mulberry paper and gold ink to finish off this little piece.

A heart gown (from Valentine’s Day)! This collage is made from various papers–mulberry, cardstock, some paper I painted on then cut up. I’m so enjoying collaging these days. It’s like painting blobs but with paper. Paper blobs. This is about 8.5x11".
