1. Happy December! Although, I'm one of those Oklahomans who is currently grumbling about the balmy, seventy degree weather. It just doesn't feel like Christmas time when it's this warm outside! Bryan keeps reminding me that I should be thankful for the warm weather because we have to walk our dogs outside four times a day.
2. The foundation has been poured for our house! We've seen several home frames go up around our lot in a matter of weeks, so major progress should be taking place. Last weekend, we took Sandy and Tino to see their future backyard. They seemed to like it.
3. This weekend is state competition! It's so fun to be surrounded by all my dear dance team friends for a few days.
4. Next Thursday, I have my third and final pudendal nerve block. I may also have some pelvic floor trigger point injections.
5. Getting steroid injections every 4 weeks, combined with neuralgia medication, has made me puff up like a marshmallow. I have gained 15 pounds since the start of all these treatments in June and it SUCKS. Most of you know of my adult struggles with weight management and I had been so proud of myself for maintaining my goal weight for the last two years. Today, at a checkup with my pain management doctor, I asked him to take me off of Lyrica and let me try a different neuralgia medication that doesn't cause so much weight gain. He sympathized with my frustration, so I am starting Topamax next week. If I don't pose for any holiday pictures this year, please keep in mind that I'm just hyper-sensitive about the way I look right now.
6. To close on a positive note, I'm really looking forward to some of our Christmas plans. Bryan and I are spending a weekend at the Skirvin in Bricktown so we can walk around the Myriad Gardens and enjoy the Christmas lights and other fun activities. I'm also going to see Tulsa Ballet's The Nutcracker for the first time in three years. How fun!

1. Thanksgiving was just wonderful. It was so fun to spend the week with my parents preparing our feast and then share the meal with my loved ones. I like to try at least one new recipe a year, so this time I prepared Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Butternut Squash in a Bacon Vinaigrette. SO GOOD! Thanks Williams Sonoma. I have found some of my favorite recipes from their site
2. Building begins on our house this week! I can't get the dumb picture to load correctly, so just turn your head sideways to see the lot. Please.
3. For friends and family who would like more information on pudendal nueralgia, check out this site. This is the best resource that I have found explaining the condition, its causes and treatments.

1. I'm going to Tulsa for the weekend to judge my favorite dance competition, TSF. I look forward to it every fall!
2. While I'm there, I'll also get to attend Beth's annual Halloween party. This year's costume will have to be a game time decision. I haven't had time this year to plan one!
3. Beth is currently 24 weeks pregnant with Miss Victoria Elizabeth Hughes. I can't believe this is baby #3 for her! I am told that #3 is also the final baby. I always thought that Beth and I would have our babies right around the same time, so part of me is a little sad that the future Baucom babies will be younger than the Hughes batch.
4. That thought leads me to this one- Bryan and I met with my pain management doctor together this week. So far, my pain management plan wasn't working very well, so we had a heart-to-heart with the doctor about my goals for the future versus where I am at the moment. Obviously, the future goal is wellness in my body and a painless existence. Also, babies. But currently, the goal is to control my pain enough that I can hold onto my life- my job, my relationships, social obligations, possibly reintroduce eyeshadow back into my daily schedule... you get the idea. So, we increased my daily dosage of Lyrica and changed my pain medication. Two days later, I'm feeling significantly better. I'm so relieved and thankful that this area of my well being has improved.
5. And next on the treatment plan is another pudendal nerve block on November 8th plus a piriformis steroid injection and hopefully, some trigger point injections in my abdomen. Doesn't that sound fun? I WILL reward myself with a lunch of cookies and milk that day.
6. Until next week, be well!
