Toysoldiers - Newest addition to the collection

Manufacturer:   JohnJenkinsDesign

Scale:   60mm (1:30)

Hi again,

yesterday my personal X-Mas gift has arrived. I made quite a good deal on eBay Italy on these items.

There are another two British soldiers from the 44th Regiment of Infantry increasing my British forces belonging to the range of "Battle on the Monongahela".

The JJD-range called "Raid on St.Francis" includes some parts of a fortification. For I already have some straight sections here I was lucky to get the gateway and also some corner sections.

So here they are. :)

Cheers

Mike

Toysoldiers - New recruits for my AWI-collection concerning FirstLegion miniatures

Manufacturer:   FirstLegion Miniatures

Scale:   60mm (1:30)

Hi,

last weekend I have won some auctions on eBay concerning figures from the AWI-ranges of FirstLegion Miniatures.

FirstLegion is not the cheapest manufacturer of toysoldiers as they are very highly detailed and also painted on a very high standard compared to other manufacturers. I got these figures on eBay on a very good price compared to the original prices.

They just arrived today and made today´s quitting time a very good one. :)

Cheers

Mike

Toysoldiers - New recruits for the collection

Manufacturer:   JohnJenkinsDesign

Scale:   60mm (1:30)

Hi,

since the last few posts had been very full of pictures here is just a short one. :)

Today I got some recruits for my collection of FIW-JohnJenkinsDesign.

They all belong to the range of "Battle on the Monongahela" and one of them shows the French Captain De Beaujeu who was able to persuade his Indian allies to combat the British forces only by taking off parts of his regular uniform and by clothing like an Indian warrior. This action impressed and motivated the Indians for joining the French soldiers.

De Beaujeu was one of the few casualties the French and the Indian warparty lost at this battle and it is told that he also had been one of the first casualties aswell.

In the end the British force had been really massacred (456 death and 421 wounded) while the FrenchIndian force suffered about 40 casualties.

Cheers

Mike

Vereinigung freie Zinnfigurensammler e.V. - Yearly presentation 2024

Hi,

this post is about the yearly presentation of the club "Vereinigung freie Zinnfigurensammler" of which I am a member of.

In former times there had almost been only flats and traditional round miniatures. But nowadays you can find almost every variation of figures.

The clubmembers always meet every first friday of the month for showing parts of their collections, having conversation about our hobby and museum worth to have a look at. These meetings only last for about 3 hours.

Every year there is a bigger public exhibition held by the club where the members can show greater parts of their collection and also dealers offer their stuff for a whole day. It is not a huge but a fine exhibition and I like to go there very much. Sometimes you can get some real bargains like I did this year.

So - here is the photo-tour.

Cheers

Mike

This vignette was my favourite one at the show.

No wonder that this guy had won a bronze medal within a competition.

Michael Terheggen is well known within the club for his huge formations of flats.

Thomas Ziegler (right) is also a reenactor for Romans in the 3rd century.

He and another member of his group told very interesting information
about the Roman army of this time.

This had been the best deal.

Though this figure needs some restauration - 5 Euros is a real bargain.

I got this vignette for free for having bought the two
sets of Napoleonic soldiers.

It is 54mm, so it does not fit to my other collection.
But - it was free and looks good.
