Lilly was in love, and even wrote a note for the dog in "dog language," so he would be able to read it.

Grandma and Grandpa Berbert came to visit, and they had lots of fun playing around the house and at the pumpkin farm. My sister came to visit, too, followed by a visit from my aunt who very kindly watched my kids while I went to Bermuda. The kids loved having so many visitors!

We also dressed up for our monthly kid's book club. Lilly decided to be a "Fairy Doctor" for this one.

And then we finished out the month with a major bout of sick.
But don't worry, we slept it off.

Halloween

Image

Rain and sickness threatened to ruin Halloween this year, but we weren't about to get tricked out of all our treats!

On Friday, we made it to the annual Fall Fun Fest in Round Rock, weather be damned, and had ourselves a little Halloween fun before being shut inside the rest of the day. Lilly's afternoon pre-k was cancelled, her school party/dance was cancelled, and Austin got hit hard with floods and tornados. The kids got hit by colds.

Luckily the skies cleared just in time for Trick or Treating the next day, and so we headed out with a sick fish and a recovering Fairy Mermaid. Lilly LOVED it, Henry tried his darndest to participate, but his sick was definitely showing. Mostly he was content to be pulled around in his little red wagon while meekly saying "tick or tweet" in his hoarse little voice.

Drew just had to be in the pictures, too . . .

And Lilly couldn't wait to get home to take a turn handing out candy.

They ended up with quite the haul, which we sorted the next day. They each chose 15 pieces to keep, and then we sold back the rest at a local toy store. (The candy is used for care packages for overseas troops) We ended up with 4 lbs of candy, worth $4 in store credit. Lilly chose a sticker book, I got the candy out of the house, and everyone was happy!

Happy Halloween!!!
