May: My Pie Five Boys, Austin Aquarium, Field Day, Drew's Anterior Inferior Illiac Spinal Avulsion, Mother's Day, WonderWorld, Back Pack Coalition,

May was a whirlwind of activity!  Dave Shurtz graduated from the University of Houston as an Optometrist.  Mother's Day was also that weekend and it was extra special since we got to talk to Dallin who is serving in Fresno.  He's doing really well. It was so fun to see and hear from him!  My mom was with me for mother's day, which was a rare treat!  Danica and Devin had a good field day.

Our family had some passes that were about to expire so we hit a few different activities.  One was the Austin Aquarium.  Some of the highlights were touching and feeding the manta rays, feeding the birds and having them fly all over us, the talking birds that make all kinds of racket, and seeing the sharks.

Drew injured his hip and has been complaining about it for a while so we took him in for an xray.  The Orthopedic doctor says its an anterior inferior illiac spinal avulsion.  Basically, he fractured his hip when his quad muscle pulled against it so hard that it fractured the bone.  He needs to take it easy so that the bone can mend.  He will need to not play soccer for a while.

We had a good size hail storm.  The kids enjoyed jumping on the trampoline with the ice.

Drew and Dayton both work at Pie Five, which serves custom built to order individual pizzas.  Preston McCullough also works there.  Those boys have a lot of fun together!

We spent a Saturday at Wonder World in San Marcos.  There was a neat cave, a train ride, deer to feed, and a crazy leaning house.  We had a good time together and grabbed some hamburgers on the way home.  They messed up our order quite a bit so Drew kept going back to get it right, which meant more food.

One of our favorite places to give service is at the Back Pack Coalition.  We help bag up food for disadvantaged children to take home with them over the weekend.  Danica loves backpack coalition the most and is always wondering when we can go.  Dave lined up this session with lots of our friends and those we home and visit teach.
