Happy Valentines Day 2012
We have the BEST play group!! It is made up of a few kids from Parker's class at school, but with the younger siblings, there are 11 kiddos in all. We do play dates and MNO every few weeks and this was a super fun one that Pricilla and Cade threw for us. We had a blast celebrating with everyone!

Time Flying By
Every time I get a free second to think about my "to do" list, I am reminded about this little thing called "my blog". I used to be so good at keeping up with it, but now, it just seems to keep making its way on the bottom of my "to do" list. This makes me sad. I don't really care if anyone else is reading it or is keeping up with my family, but I do care that this was my one way to stop time. To capture these little boys now...in the moment, before time flies by once again.
So, the good news is that I have been "blog loading" or writing blogs, then saving them as drafts until I can download pics. So, if I can just get my stuff together and upload some pics, then I will publish Parker's 3rd bday, Christmas, Valentines day 2012, and a few more...
But, until I do that, I wanted to do a post of "Right Now's"...what my boys are like...right now.
Parker is growing like a weed. I think (based on the last time we were at the doctor in April for strep) he is around 41 lbs. He is eating more. He can dress himself totally and usually will do so before he comes out of his room in the morning. Most of the time he looks hilarious with mismatches shorts/shirts, black socks with tennis shoes, but I don't even try to re-dress him. I think he looks perfect because he did it all by himself. He is learning so much and each day he surprises me with what he knows. He is obsessed with geography and can tell you where Ireland, Texas, Africa, and Madagascar are on a map. He can spell his name. His favorite things right now are watching movies, sharks, bugs, hop scotch, hide and go seek, BOZ, and swimming. He is in swim lessons and can swim all by himself from the table to the wall, but I still make him wear arm floaties when we are swimming. He loves (actually begs) to go to church and to MOPs, but does not like to go to school. (actually, he loves school too, but he likes to say he does not want to go. I think it is because they make him take naps). When he gets frustrated he will grunt...I am pretty sure that is what I do when I get mad, so I can take credit for that :) Parker is following directions more and more and if I tell him not to do something now, he usually listens. He loves his "brodder" and they are playing together pretty well these days, however, they do have their moments. Parker is completely potty trained, thanks to his Loli who bribed him with cold hard cash. Now every time he goes #2 in the potty he comes out and exclaims, "I went poo-poo in the potty. Now I can go to camp Kiawah with Abbie and Anna Claire!". He likes to tell me that "I make his heart happy". He is so much fun, so energetic and busy.
Cooper will be 2 in a few weeks. He is finally sleeping like a champ and will usually sleep until 7. This little boy is BUSY! He is non-stop at all times. I can get him to watch a little bit of a movie, but after about 10 minutes, he is up and moving. He loves to climb and if I do not keep the chairs up off the ground, he will use them to get on counters, make coffee, make waffles, whatever. I find him on the kitchen counters everyday. It is a wonder the child has not fallen off of anything yet. He can say a lot of words. One of my favorite is when you ask him a question and he will reply "otay". A lot of his vocabulary is understood by me, but no one else knows what the heck his is saying. He loves construction, fish, dinosaurs, and anything big brother does. Monkey see...monkey do. He starts school in June and I think he will be very excited. He screams when we take P to school because he can't keep his backpack, but I have ordered him his own, so he should be happy from now on. He still takes one really good nap a day and goes to bed around 8. He loves snow cones, chicken nuggets, french fries, strawberries, apples, raspberries, watermelon, and bananas. He will usually eat just about anything. We are still lactose intolerant, but he seems to do ok if I slip in a bite or 2 of cheese. Cooper weighs around 28 lbs. Cooper loves to dance and sing and will sing along (in his own little words) to our BOZ and Little Einstein videos. We went to Sea World a few weeks ago and this little dare devil rode any and all rides they would let him on...and loved every minute of them. Cooper loves to swim. Hates to be away from mommy. Loves animals. This little boy is so edible and so much fun to be around. Even though we are in the "terrible 2's" he is still a blast and makes me laugh all the time. Little Ham!

When you're racing with the clock...
Ok, ok, I know I swore I would blog soon...heck, I even listed the blog topics I would blog about so you could sit pining away at your computer waiting for me to post them. Well, that obviously did NOT happen. So what am I going to do, you ask? I think the only feasible option I have is to just start from present day, because, well, let's face it, you and I both know that hell would have to freeze over and pigs would have to fly before I would really catch up on what I have missed.
So, to REwind in very fast motion...
PARKER:
started school in September. He goes 3 days a week. His teachers are Mrs. Pauline (she's from Ireland) and Mrs. Kendra. At first, I was very nervous with him going 3 days, but it has been wonderful for him.
turned 3...(I think I might actually do a blog post about that).
is somewhat, for the most part, potty trained!! He is doing awesome at it.
told me today that "I make his heart happy" and then he sang "Happy Birthday to Jesus" in the tub tonight.
loves his airplane shirt, big construction shirt, his orange and brown stripe jacket, and his light up shoes. He will only wear "comfy pants" (meaning they have to be soft, inside and out). So I basically do about 3 loads of laundry a day just to keep up with the demands of my picky dresser.
COOPER:
is now 18 months old! How did this happen? This is, by far, the most fun age I think. I missed this age with P because of work and being prego and then having a new baby, but Cooper makes us laugh constantly. Everything is so new to him. He has his own language that I can understand, for the most part. Some of his favorite words are no, bewwa, eyezzz, TT, pooo (tells me when he poo poos), momma, NaNa (noni), dut tu (dump truck), ta tu (trash truck), bye bye.
he gets MAD when P will take a toy away from him and he will let you know this by covering his mouth with his hands and shrieking at the top of his lungs.
he climbs on EVERYTHING. Favorite spot is on top of the kitchen counters.
loves to "couch jump"...puts a bunch of pillows on the floor and then jumps off.
stays at home on Monday and Tuesday while I am at work and P is at school. Ana watches him and Claire, a little girl from down the street comes over to play most days. They are BFF. C will start school this summer. On Thursdays when P is at school, Coop and I hang all day. He loves these days.
he is severely lactose intolerant, but that does not stop the child from eating. Constantly feeding him.
THE WHITES:
the boys are in swim lessons once a week...they love it!
we have been sick since October...passing it from one person to the next.
spent the week before Thanksgiving in Galveston with Andy's parents (might do a post about that too)
Spent Tday in Dallas with my parents
went to New Braunfels for a wedding
will be here for Christmas
Oh, and we had some professional pics done (for charity)...turned out good...here are a few...

Adults Only
In August, Kim and Mark got married...In the Virgin Islands. So we packed up our stuff, farmed out our kids, and left on a plane for 4 glorious days. We were joined by Shannon, Nat, Jules and Jerry, and Tiff and Ron. Flying without kids was heaven...even enjoyable. We flew to Miami then hopped on a plane to St. Thomas, then a ferry over to St. John.

Once we arrived, we checked into our super cool hotel (Caneel Bay), had some cocktails, and changed into party clothes. We then headed out to a local spot for a welcoming party.

The next day, Kim and Mark had chartered a private boat for the wedding party. We spend the ENTIRE day soaking up the sun, snorkeling, and visiting different islands. We even got to spend some time at the World Famous, Soggy Dollar Bar. Friday night we did dinner with our small group.

Saturday was spent with the girls doing a shower for Kim and the boys snorkeling off one of the 7 private beaches at our hotel. None of them had their cell phones, so we were having a hard time deciding which beach to go and find them at. However, once we were told that their was only one beach that had a bar, we decided to try that one first. Lucky guess, because we found them right away and were able to join them for lunch.
Saturday night was the wedding...so pretty and SO MUCH FUN!! We headed home on Sunday after one of the best vacations I have ever been on. I can still be having a rough day and then I will think back of something that happened on the trip and that will make me smile (and wish I was back there).
