Singing in the rain...

Or just running around in the rain, but close enough. Even though we were have a huge thunderstorm with 60 mph winds Avrie still cried to go outside today. So in between rain showers I let Av's venture outside. We put on her rain coat and boots and went to play on the deck. It was only after a few minutes outside that it started raining again but that didn't stop Avrie. She continued to play in the rain for the next 10 or 15 mins.

She wasn't quite sure what to think of the rain at first.

But then she figured it out.

She wasn't very happy that I was telling her she needed to come inside, so she got to play some more.

Yesterday we had beautiful 80 degree weather and Avrie loved every minute of it. While I was putting dishes away I went to check on Avrie and this is what I found....

Ever since the weather turned nice Avrie has wanted to be outside every minute tha she can.

Can't Sleep

Well I can't sleep so I have decided to catch up on my blog. I know I said clear back in October that now I am part time I will have all this time to keep my blog updated. What I didn't realized that Avrie leaves no time for getting on the computer to blog and when she is finally asleep I am way too tired to blog. So since I have months worth of blogging to catch up on I will be doing a bunch of back blogging, mostly for mine and Dustan's benefit, and hopefully with this start I can keep up my blog. So here is goes.....

St. Louis

Dustan had a few days off of work so we decided to take a quick trip to St. Louis. We had a great time and the weather was beautiful. After our long 4 hour drive the first thing Avrie did when we got to the hotel was lounge on the bed and grabbed the remote. I think she had enough of her car seat and needed to stretch her legs.

After we got settled in to our hotel we decided to go and take a swim.

Avrie was a natural in the water. I can't wait for this summer.

The next day we decided to go the St. Louis Zoo. I absolutely love the St. Louis Zoo because it is a huge zoo for FREE. You just can't beat that.

We are pretty sure she couldn't actually see the animals, especially since she kept running to empty exhibits and looking through the fence.

Avrie had a great time running around, looking at all of the animals and giggling at all the kids at the zoo. We will definitely be taking more trips to zoo.

Halloween

For Halloween this year Avrie was a little monster (not a far stretch from her normal days). She looked absolutely adorable in her monster outfit.

So on our Trick or Treating adventures one of our friends house had given Avrie a Kit Kat bar for her treat. While driving to our next destination, Avrie had figured out how to get the package opened and had started eating the Kit Kat and getting chocolate all over herself. Never underestimate the power chocolate has, even a one year old will figure out how to get to it.

Birthday Girl!!!

For Avrie's first birthday we got together with a bunch of our friends to celebrate. We were also very lucky to have my mom here for Avrie's birthday as well (sadly she isn't in any of the pics because she is so graciously taking all of the pics). Our really good friends were kind a enough to host the party at their house because was just way to small. Here are a few pics (ok a lot of pics) from Av's 1st birthday.

As you can see we really had to wash Avrie down after her cake. Poor girl has purple stains on her face for a couple of days after her party, luckily it came right out of her clothes.

Here is one of the gifts she got from mom and dad in hopes that it would help her walk. It was pretty funny watching her try and maneuver it around the family room.
