Tri It II
I really need to figure out what to do with this blog...I can't post any photos because I am out of space...so until I figure it out, imagine that there is a photo here:
Of Daughter #1, her three friends and I after this morning's tri. Then know that we beat our time from last month and that the sky cleared up for our wave and then rained on the other waves. A load of fun to end Daughter #1's birthday weekend.

New Shoes!!
Daughter #1 and I celebrated the Captain's birthday today by having him take us to the running event at Road Runner Shoes. We had signed up for the free event because Daughter #1 needed to run a few more miles to have run 25 miles by her 25th birthday on Saturday...plus there are tons of free prizes.
It is a run, kind of like the car rallies when I was in high school. Right at the start of the run the post a map with a lot of locations...you write them down and runrunrunrun as fast as you can to the locations...and when you get to each one you get tickets...you get double tickets if you are wearing a Road Runner Fun Run shirt...which of course we bought...which included beer tickets and a beer glass and more raffle tickets.
So Daughter #1 and I took off....we had fun trying to plot our path and make all the stops for raffle tickets. Our time was pretty good when we consider that at one stop we had to make 2 baskets shooting a miniature basketball into an inflatable hoop and at one point run through Trader Joe's looking for the raffle person....and stopping at all red lights and waiting for the walk signal.
We had one hour and we made it to all but 2 checkpoints... back at Road Runner we took our raffle tickets apart and put them into the big box. There were prizes...lots of raffle prizes..and number after number went by and our numbers weren't even close. Then they started throwing stuff into the crowd and right when we thought it was over they started calling more numbers and I won a pair of shoes!! I told Daughter #1 if I won shoes I would give them to her for her birthday...and I also won arm compression sleeves. Then we headed to Pudley's for dinner and another raffle...which we left before it began because some of us need to work on Fridays.
We've now run past 25 miles this month and will try to get to 53 miles by my birthday...and I would add a picture but until I start a new blog I can't.
