so we went to the toilet.
then waited for him to leave
then we ran out.

aci hi totally rawks!!!
we had sumo wrestling.
it's like, we have to wear this super huge and stuffed suit that imitates the size and shape of a sumo wrestler.
i was gonna elaborate but im gonna make this

we had flying fox down thie hills that are alive with the sound of music =)
it was really long and great fun.
i went on the big swing too.
it was about like what. around 2 storeys high?
yeah.
i was hooked up on a harness then my whole group plus jeredeb's group pulled me up using this rope on the other side.. like a pulley system.
then when you're going up real fast as they pull the other end of the rope from one side to another point some few metres away, you look down and they look so funny and tiny as they run. hahahaha.
then you pull this red cord that breaks you away and you start falling and swinging to the other side like a pendulum.
then we went horse riding.
i got Star.
she's a really guai horse.
small too.
haha.

i'm sun burnt on my right shoulder.

today, my group (under adverts) went to macdonalds.
quite cool la.
today's really hot. as in hot compared to the other cold days.
its still cooler than singapore tho cause we have wind blowing here.

so he got us both ice cream!

today was super fun. other than morning's inter rels lesson ofcourse. haha.
i've been running, skipping, jumping, kicking and what not. i've been playing rugby with wallace and simeon the past two days.(including today)
it's really fun.. as in.. not exactly the sport.. but more of the people.
two of them are aboriginals.. (have i mentioned that?) yeah they taught me how to kick.
yup so we all played.. mostly guys(or gays. hah.) though.
well all that was after a great dinner. we had it outdoors at the bullpadock.
delicious.
the weather was good and all.
jason and the rest of us sat down together with some of the science people.
there are some from mjc.. but they don't know kin yew. the teachers do though.
anyway, after dinner was rugby and after rugby was

BUSH DANCING!!!!!

so much fun!!!

you'll never imagine how much fun it is okae..

we had it at the dining hall.
the tables and chairs were all pushed to the side, the lights were dim orange as usual, there was this folk band in front at the elevated area. we paired up and they taught us to dance. so fun.
i danced with two mentors. then some science people then fu aun and they stopped.
then they made us continue with the partner we were with (fu aun) but in lines.
so we clapped, stepped, spun and just danced away then the front couple of each row had to side skip through the row of people at the end of our turn in front. it was so so fun.
haha. i couldn't stop laughing.
i really dunno why mihail refused to dance la..
he said he didn't wanna embarrass himself. such a waste!
we learnt a few dances.
there was one where they had to have four together in a circle.
i was randomly picked to follow the mentors and the bush guy to do the trial dance.
and guess who my partner was..

it was so cool..
and funny too. lol.
like we danced the night away till about 9 plus.
we changed partners alot and they were random people.
which is good cause then we get to know more ppl
and that is good cause then you'd have more friends.

haha.. simmy was so cute. cause when he was told to turn to his left, he didn't know where to go and lost his partner three times so i had to go find him.

we had the makaroni dance as well.

cool. cause it really doesn't matter.
haha. great fun cause the whole hall jumped at the same time and you could feel the ground shake?
yup.

well after bush dancing (which was the bestest time ive ever ever ever had in my life..i think), i went out to the bull padock then joined the nan hua ppl who were sitting on the grass. chatting. then a few mnutes after that one of the guys.. i think it was fu aun.. he called me over cause wallace and simeon wanted to ask if i'd like to follow them for gelati. so i said yes of course and dragged sarah along.
haha. it's really nice to know that well like.. you're not just mixing with one group.. but that hey, other ppl, although they do not exactly speak a common language, still accept you and stuff? like there's no discrimmination or just keeping to themselves just because they are the different minority. like in the whole camp there are only two of them and the rest of us are either whites, yellows or indians. and one malay. azza. haha. yeah.
so sarah, wallace, fu aun, simeon and i followed wallace's "dad" out for gelati.
jake (that's his "dad") is camping with us or something i think. yeah. he's got a special swipe card that vincent or jk probably gave him so that he could take wallace and simmy out or something when they needed to.
well on the way to gelati, i was talking to jake alot. he's in his 20s.. early 20s i think.
he is actually half abo. which is cool.
he's all white actually.. can't tell that he's abo.
he told me that wallace calls him dad (in an abo language) because wallace's real dad is actually jake's "brother" (somehow) so wallace was given to jake to look after. the way he said it didn't seem like he had much of a choice. lol.
and if he was to marry, he'd have to marry someone with the right (as in correct) skin. it's really complex and weird because a skin seems like another name someone has.. maybe like a surname. but you see, wallace has a different skin from jake. and if jake were to marry a woman of the right skin, his child's skin would be the same that of wallace.
i have no idea why. maybe it's because since wallace is his son, then his other son (the real on) has to also be of the same skin.
complex. you can forget it.
they live in a campervan kinda place ause the place where they live is really deep down in the bush.
jake's actually born in canberra but then after that he moved back to the bush.
oh you must be wondering why then, ifa man had to marry a oman of the right skin, how could jake's mum be a white rite?
because whites have no skin name. and a man, theoratically would not be able to marry her because she doesn't even have a skin name.
the thing is, that jake's dad was a stolen generation. like he was stolen buy the whites when he was really small and brought up as a white. so he grew up and married a white who gave birth to jake.
oh by the way, although they wear normal clotes, they still do hunting.. like buffalos)
yup.. on the way back, simmy was trying to teach me kraiol.. his native language.

gelati was so good today. yum.

hey people. im back from victoria market.. don't worry. i know i didn't blog after i came back but that doesn't mean i got kidnapped. yup. didn't get anything though. it was the night market we went for. but it was quite nice. there was a band playing.. and there was good food which a didnt spend time looking at or tasting. there were nice clothes and stuff but the prices werent good. haha. but nevertheless, it was good fun.

we had two periods of culture which was interrupted by lunch today.
jack took our group to the art gallery at federation square.
know how cool that place is?? it's awesome!
we got off the tram and walked past at least three cows!
there was a brown cow which had "how now" printed on it. how cute!
and there was this other cow that had a picture of mona lisa.
the third cow was standing and had boxing gloves i think.
the place was amazing. there were so many unsual structures (including the building itself).
that was only the outside. the paintings were inside.
the first floor was all done aboriginal style. earth colours. lines and dots. circles within circles.
beautiful.
i really loved the art pieces by someone dowling.
sorry larh.. cant rmb her name.
but they were done with layers over layers.. like. beneath the glittery dots were text, and below the text were pictures and right in the middle is the face of a member of the artist's family. it was so beautiful!
they all had so much feeling in em.. like.. you could see that the aboriginals really suffered..
and if you just looked at it from far, it'd just be a 3d looking face within a shimmery, colourful frame.
it was really really good.
after 20 mins, we went to get our lunches from the gallery locker and went to the riverside to eat.
we were right under the blazing sun and it was burning.
but the ground was cool and it didn't really feel hot at all because the wind was quite so cold.
yups. it was a good feeling. to be hot and cold.
haha.
we sat with our legs dangling above the water to have our delicious sandwiches, two bars of chocolate and juice.
yum!
we talked alot as well.. and this guy.. dave. he's weird.
he refused to sit on the grass to he squated.
obviously he got tired because the next moment he was sitting on his paper lunch bag.
haha.
he's got these slitty eyes and you cant see the whites. i don't think i'll dare to look actually.
i know this sounds really mean. but im quite scared of him.
he's like a *** maniac according to someone. during creative writing, he said he liked writing about ***.
and when it was his turn to read a picture at the gallery, he led us to this picture of sheep being uh.. shaved? well according to tya it's shave.. cause she can't rmb the word for it. lol. so wadeva.
but back to the point. he said that there was a sexual feel about the picture.
quite freaky. haha.
i really enjoyed lunch. alot.
oh manx.. i'm really gonna miss it hear when i return.

we had faculty of arts today.
bah. it was a bore.
the guy was talking about racism i think. i couldn't keep awake much.
haha. oh and you know what. there was this whole row of nan hua ppl behind who were sleeping. like.. seriously. haha.
it was quite funny la.. so after i saw them i didn't sleep anymore. i wrote a descriptive essay with incomplete sentences decribing the lecturer. haha. the tip of his tie(the back part) was tucked in his pants..
know what that means? means he wore his shirt and tie before putting on his pants.
OR
it coud mean that between the time he changed and the time he arrived here, he had gone to the loo.

i was drawing henna designs as well.
filling up the page with colour.
i think the lecture was a disappointment.
vidhi just said that everyone slept at the lecture.
haha. i was hoping for something more atrsy and interesting.. like.. anything but the history of australia.
haha. i think only nick was paying attention. he's amazing i tell you.
he knows EVERYTHING from politics to australian history.
nuts.
he reads the back few pages of the newspaper where all the world issues are. and he was so engrossed it was quite hard to pull him away from the breakfast table where he was reading for morning briefing at the jcr.

hello hello!just had my lunch.
i did laundry last night. myself. for the first time.
the other time was with sarah. haha.
yup.. oh guess what.. there's this cute ang mo guy behind.. he's in the science camp and know what site he's at? you'll never wanna know. well of course you do.. so i'm gonna tell you.. it's mathworld. hahahaha.. it's jsut so weird.
like nick.. nick's a cute nerd who doesn't wear glasses and plays soccer.. he's playing rite now with jason and some others.
well yeah. i edited yesterday's post cause i missed out on some stuff while typing half asleep.
so anyway, today's first lesson.. or lecture.. known as reasoning.. was boring. well maybe not boring. but i was simply too tired.
you can look around the lecture theatre and see ppl falling asleep!
haha. it was funny. maybe it's the weather. like in sinapore, on rrainy days when it's cool.. we just wanna sleep. and now we're here, it's ALWAYS cold, so we ALWAYS wanna sleep.
lol.
second lesson was global.
each group of 4 students was given an apple.. representing a globe.
then we cut out the percentage that was land(29%) then half of the land (aprox) that was unhabited.
then we cut out a third of the remaining half of the land because it was unusable.
quite a sad case cause the remaining 2 thirds of half of 29% of the apple has to cater for all the needs of the aprox 6.4 billion ppl.
ok so enough of global.
lunch was good.
we had quiche (that how you spell it?) and chips.
oh yeah and nick? he wanted seconds.
so after he cleared his plate, he came back to our table and asked worriedl if anyone had a jacket or a shirt that he could wear over because he didn't want to be recognised.
lol.. so tya told him that we were allowed to go for seconds.
so he went.
then he came back with a plate of noodles(which tasted horrible.. but which he loved.. somehow. he should really come to singapore manx.) and a drumstick.
apparently, just as he was being served, he was told that "if your freinds want seconds, they will have to wait"
hahaha.. so hilarious.
that's about all for now i guess.
oh yes, and my card balance.. it's dropped from 18 to 9 plus?
it's bad.
cause i think i made like 3 or 4 calls at the airport when no one was there cause they we late for the pickup..then i didn't know how to use the phone.. so yeah. haha. kept calling.. and i talked to gramps as well.
lol.. mum, you can get it topped up for me if you think i need it. lol. ermz.. 8 bucks is needed for a call to be made or something rite? i can't really remember. some thing like that.

melbourne discovery?

it poured like crazy after we walked all the way to dominos and bought our pizza.
well actually the rain came down when we were eating at the nearby park.
it got so so cold because it wasn't just the low emperature.. there was also WIND. chilly wind.
and i didn't have a jacket. how smart eh?
went to seek shelter at the bus stop while the rest hid under the tree.. some saw me at the bus stop and came over.. haha. then everyone came. we quickly boarded the next tram that came along.. which took quite a long time.
all the running across the road and hiding under the tree in the rain really caused us to be totally drenched by the time we got on the tram.
i was quite happy about the rain.. it was quite so fun. haha.
i'm really sleepy now..
oh yeah you know what? i was held hostage by jeremy today the stupidest way EVER.
he held on to my dangling star earring so i could not move.
or i'd like.. tear my ear or something.
after two trams, we reached this stop from which we were gonna walk to the crown in the rain. yes, the rain hadn't stopped yet. fortunately, i was blessed with lovely friend, denise, who had an umbrella and shared it with me and casurina. casurine i mean.
it was really quite a distant we walked.. and ran.. the run was good. once we crossed under the flyover, we could see the crown so we all started running there.. across the bridge over the river. it was terrific! i'd never enjoyed running so much before. haha. i think. it was cold, but if you ran fast enough with our arms spread, you'd probably feel like rose when she was flying on the titanic. totally cool.
the crown seemed rather high end. but we went to the other side of the crown where there was this warner bros shop with this cute thing for kids to climb it..
there was this really really adorable blonde little girl hiding inside.. i took pictures with her!! i'm so gonna post it all up! haha.we also took pictures with some ang mo stranger. not hot guy haha.. but they're ll so friendly!!!!!!!
like when i say hello to random ppl in singapore sometimes when i'm feeling really happy, some of em just give the blur look. come on! i think we've got to be more open and carefree about stuff.. not so uptight and give the are-you-gonna-rob-me kinda attitude. lol.
anyway.
there was also a BEAUTIFUL christmas choir there. they were carolling in long flowing red robes in the dimmed colour-changing lighting and all the little children were just sitting in front. sarah, johnny and i joined them. well it was good. haha.
so.
we went to the arcade were they had this laserr shooting thing.
it was awesome!
i've heard of it before but never really been to one. now i have.
and i'm proud of it.
only 15 bucks for three games.
i died a few times, killed a few times too. it was quite thrilling.
haha.. i kept getting jeremy even when he was trying to sneak up on me the first round. the nan hua people were good. lol.. so was mitch. great shooter.
walked around for awhile after that.. and it was still pouring.. so we had to run again.

in and out the rain.
haha.. so so much fun.
talked quite some but in the tram back. ook photos with this 23 year old blonde cause she was sitting beside m and mitch wanted to take a group photo of the two girls opposite me and i myself so we asked her to join us.
she's a chef. and she'd gone to canada for a year for a school trip! how cool! 12 months!
she's a chef now. pastries. yum.
oh yes, there was foundation studies graduation today.. the pre dinner drinks were at the bull padck wehre the summer school students were to meet for exploring melbourne. so when i was waiting with jane and some others, this waitress came to serve us drinks.. then some came to serve us food.. that tasted really odd.. THEN came the strawberr tarts which were terriffic because they had the bestest chocolate filling!!! we kept wanting more. and johnny that joker, even got the waitress to go over to where the rest of the summer school students were! how cool eh?
haha. anywa, i've really got to go now.
gonna check my laundry then go to bed.

we had lifeskills and drama this morning.
it was SO fun!!
know what?
we had only 3 minutes of life skills beacuse all we needed to know was how to work the washing machine which some of us have already learnt from the rest of the ppl who have had life skills. haha.
so basically, we had a free period.
me, tya, nick, jason, asmeeta and akhut hung out at the bull padock.
haha. it was really chilly because the wind was blowing and i only had my puremilk sweatshirt on.
we drew dots on our arms.. crapped.. piggy backed each other.. it's just so nice to be with people.
after the long long free period, we left for drama which was across the road and a turn to the left..and through a gate down a corridor and straight on!
we started off by walking around the room, talking to ourselves about what we were seeing and doing. like "i'm walking towards the white wall and i see the switch then i turn and see tya"
and on and on. this is actually to help fill your mind up when you're not thinking of anything but jsut waiting for your next line when you're acting in a skit. it's really interesting actually..
then we were business men and women.. beggers..
we played the story game but this time everyone had to say a sentence each instead of just one word.
we told two stories because the first one ended when the main character died.
then tya, nick, jason and i formed a group and pretended to be pirates.
and i was hero because i died while blocking a bullet. haha.
quite fun.
we also played "ha!" and "trust me".
heh. i just finished lunch. gonna have my elective course later. advertising and persuation! how cool!
lol. we i'm looking forward to it. gonna check mail now. we're gonna explore melbourne later in the evening.
