Swim Meet

I couldn't resist posting this video of Miles at his first swim meet. He had so much fun and I think that he might have won this race. I should probably know if he did or not, but I was so busy cheering that I didn't pay attention. Good thing that I have 5 more meets to get better at paying attention!

Swimmin' Along

Since both Regan and Miles are doing swim team, we have started spending a ridiculous amount of time at the pool. So much so that my kids toes are bleeding from all of the time spent in the pool-yikes! We have our first swim meet this evening. There is palpable fear in the air-mine. I just don't know what I'm going to do with Graham for 4 hours while my other kiddos swim....

And my hunky husband....who has put in more than his fair share of pool time with us. In a suit. Looking snazzy after work. He's been wonderful about eating most dinners at the pool too. I'll get better at making a magical and delicious dinner that can fit into the cooler!

It's Summertime!

I'm sitting here writing and I can hardly wrap my head around the fact that it is almost halfway through June. I just got Miles's kindergarten registration papers in the mail. Sniff. I had a good mama weepy moment over that one. Aydan asked me why I was sad about it.....someday she'll understand. Like when she sends her little guy off into the big, bad world. Oh boy....

June has been fun! We've gotten a new pet rabbit. Well, the girls got a pet rabbit. They named him Clover. Cute. But I call him Radar becuause he just sits in his cage with one ear straight up in the air listening. And listening some more. Probably for the danger that lurks in this house. Like little boys.

We also got two hermit crabs, but I don't really have a  better picture than the guy scooping them out for the boys. They're just plain ugly. We managed to lose one after having it here for about an hour. One hour!! And then it was gone for many, many days. Yikes. I expected to smell the hermit crab before I found it again. Then, after about a week it came limping down the stairs sans shell. That is one ugly critter. Yuck. We had to buy another shell and have a talk about not leaving the hermit crabs unattended and sadly forgotten about again.

I can tell that we're going to be great pet parents already...

Mapleview Farms Fun

Since the weather has decided to (finally) warm up, and I've decided that enough boxes have been unpacked to warrant leaving the house for some fun, we headed over to Mapleview Farms in Hillsborough. We spent the morning learning about cows, taking a hay ride, and playing with cousins and friends. Fun!

Guess what!

Guess who had ice cream and loved it? We decided to give it a try and no hives or rashes. Yahoo! Here's to hoping that Graham gets cleared for milk this summer at his appointment with the allergist. Now to get rid of that pesky egg allergy....

Hendersons on the Move!

Time is flying by-I can't seem to keep up! We're in the middle of yet another move, so we are eyeball deep in packing boxes around here. We'll be moving in just a few weeks, so we're trying to go through everything and get the rest of it boxed up. 

We have had some crazy weather around here-snow anyone? It has been fun for the kiddos though. One person in particular loves it when it snows....

Days Like This....

Cold, rainy days like this make me long for the lazy, warm days of summer. But if we can't have awesome weather, this is what we Hendersons find to do with our time....the crazy family band!

Roar!

I will admit that I was sad when Graham and I finished trick or treating last night. My big kids had already gone ahead with friends and I was left with some two year old goodness. He was so thrilled as we went from house to house trying out a well practiced, "trick or treat"and "thank you." I didn't want it to end! What a fun night with my sweet family, great friends and some delicious treats!

(Pre) Halloween Fun

It wouldn't be Halloween around here without some pre-Halloween fun. We were lucky enough to have my uncles here for a visit from Minnesota, so they came with my Dad for some pumpkin carving on Saturday. We now have a front porch with spooky pumpkins. We couldn't have done it without all of the extra helpers-4 kids with 4 pumpkins gets busy pretty quickly!

We also had the annual Henderson Halloween party at my in-laws. Every year we get together to play and eat. The kids look forward to it each year-it is so much fun!
