The first days of school start pretty soon, but we are going to have a very precious year ahead. We are going to value it very much, as it is the last year with both children at home. It is just unbelievable how fast time went. Where are our babies? We enjoyed every year, every day and every moment of their life, and we are sure we will enjoy every stage the same, even if sometimes we would want to stop the time or tell our children to slow down... But, they are so 'ready' from many points of view, they would love to go to school in the next instant if possible. Actually right now they are playing school, they got their backpacks ready etc :-)
We just had our convention(s), wonderful days that I always fail to describe. Today I was unpacking, doing laundry, house cleaning etc, all these things that need to be done after convention and vacation. I just had to pause in the middle of this busy day, to write down a couple of things that brought a smile on my face. These little things make my days beautiful. Just another reason to enjoy every day of this last year having both Emily and Jonathan at home, as this year will never repeat!
Jonathan was helping me with laundry. Daddy's socks that just came out of the drier were inside out, so Jonathan offered to help me turn them the other way around. I was explaining and showing him how to do it, and after trying without too much success, he said: "You are not very good at explaining me, mom!" LOL We did them together and we did a good job eventually :-). Something else Jonathan often does: when we get hurt, he always comes and kisses our 'awie'.
Emily has been having a saying lately. Sometimes she watches how I work around the house, or especially when I do something for them, and she says: "See, Jonathan, how many things a mother has to do?"
She also told me recently: "Mom, you are my best friend! I love you up to the Moon and back. (after a few seconds:) Actually you, dad and Jonathan are my best friends". One time in meeting she whispered in my year: "I love God even more than I love you!"
How do these kids know how to make even my most busy days beautiful! Being a mother is a wonderful unique experience... I consider myself the happiest mother! And I am going to enjoy this next year to the fullest.
