EM and STEVE
Milo's First Concert
Steve and I took Milo to his first concert last night! We had been looking forward to Brand New and Manchester Orchestra coming for some time now and had gone back and forth about bringing Milo. I found out it was outdoors so thought that would be good and not as loud! I also hesitated about buying tickets and then having to leave early because Milo wasn't having it. As luck turns out we were able to get free tickets so then it wouldn't matter if we had to leave early because we wouldn't be losing any money! There were a few other guys that went with us. We ate at Zupa's (one of my faves) before and arrived at the concert just as Manchester Orchestra started playing. Milo did very well, crawled all over the place and also kept trying to get the attention of some girls behind us. Downside: it was super loud so I tried my best to cover up Milo's ears when he would let me. He did awesome and he fell asleep about halfway through Brand New's set. It was a fun family night out and I am excited that we could experience one of our favorite things, concerts, with Milo. Not sure if it will happen again for a bit:)
Mother-Son Knight!
On Tuesday we went to Chick Fil A for their Mother-Son Knight! I plan to make this a tradition as they hold it every year and Milo will enjoy it when he gets older. They had a section of the restaurant decorated like a castle, workers were dressed up and there was a magician that would perform tricks (he was actually very impressive)!

When I think about being a mother I feel overwhelmed....Overwhelmed with love, gratitude and appreciation for God trusting me to be responsible for this little one! Ten, almost eleven months have gone by extremely fast and although it has been a lot of work, I wouldn't trade any of it. I have learned a lot and still have a lot to learn! I have no intention of trying to completely catch this blog up regarding the last 11 months. I don't ever intentionally set my self up for failure. Just know I was busy trying to figure life out with a child and had fun while doing it:)

One of my all time favorite pics of Milo! I could've watched him sleep forever when he was first born and still catch myself going in his room just to watch him peacefully sleep!

I went back to work after about 4 weeks which wasn't hard because I wasn't leaving Milo with someone I got to bring him to work! It was an adjustment, obviously:)

Milo got his first tooth at 3.5 months and his second tooth the next day! We had no idea because he never expressed any distress or pain. He has always impressed me with his facial expressions!

We Had a Baby....almost 8 months ago:)
I am super bad about keeping up with this blog. Life just gets in the way and I am totally okay with that. But I am going to try to update this thing, which for me means posting pictures! There is so much to catch up on honestly I am a little overwhelmed about where to start so just be patient with me, if there is even anyone who still checks this. I'm sure most of you gave up on me a long time ago.
Milo Perry Anderson graced our lives with his presence on October 27, 2011 and my life was forever changed! Let's begin by explaining his name. We had a really hard time deciding on a name. Anyone who knows me knows that I have an extremely hard time making decisions, even something as simple as where to eat, so naming a child is like the ultimate decision. I wanted something different but not too different. We were pretty tight lipped about the names we liked because it took me so long to narrow it down to the names I had and I was nervous someone might ruin a name for me and then we would be back at square one. And let's be honest I could do without other people's opinions and I want to save the other names for the future:) I loved the name Milo although it wasn't my top but it was one that Steve really liked too. One of the meanings of Milo is "one who is merciful" which I thought was perfect. Other meanings include mild, peaceful, calm, soldier, which seem fitting now. Perry is also Steve's middle name which I loved and wanted to pass on.
I won't go into too much detail about labor (maybe in another post). It was hard work, I think I was so anxious about things ahead of time and in my mind worked it up too be something so difficult (and it was) that it went by pretty fast. And although there were bumps in the process and unexpected experiences I can overall say it went better than I had thought!
Below are two of our first family pictures with our son! An unforgettable moment and such a blessing to have him here.
It was really exciting to see Steve take on his role as dad. He was so gentle and helpful with Milo and everything.
My attempt to take a newborn photo...
In Case You Haven't Heard!
Steve and I are having a baby boy! Due October 28, 2011:) Life is good...I am excited, nervous, and honestly still in a bit of disbelief! Steve has taken a few pictures of my belly's progress so I may get gutsy and post those later.. On another note, we are heading to Vegas and then Hawaii next week!!!! I can't wait!
March 26, 2011
This past month has consisted of some pretty exciting stuff! Val's wedding, family in town, etc. unfortunately I didn't have my camera for any of it....slacker! So you'll just have to believe me when I say it was good!! One of the most exciting things for me is that we booked a 2 week trip to Hawaii for this summer!! I am absolutely thrilled to see friends, go to the beach, eat yummy food, and spend some fun and relaxing times with the hubby!! I have been saving money I got from graduation and my birthday last year and have slowly been adding to it so there has been a lot of thought put into this trip and I finally just took a leap and bought the tickets! Money will definitely be tight for a bit but it's worth it:) And although he is not as ecstatic as I am about this adventure I know Steve is going to enjoy himself:) After this trip our next big vacation will hopefully be to Russia to visit my parents (moving there in June). Never thought we would ever take a trip there..haha!! There's is not much else going on around here lately. I am still doing adoption work and therapy, and Steve is doing school:) Can't believe he will be done with undergrad in December, and then he starts applying for grad school...yay!!

We got family pictures done while we were in Texas for Christmas...here is a sneak preview:)
