Labor Day weekend means the opening of dove season. Nothing like some good family fun with beer and firearms!

My neighbor Vicki and I once again hosted our neighborhood Halloween party in front of our houses on October 31, and once again I remembered that all of the hard work is worth it when I see how much fun the kids are having! The firetruck is always a big hit, even if my kids no longer think it is a big deal!

GGB's 80th Birthday

We took a quick trip to Granbury, Texas last weekend to celebrate my grandmother's 80th birthday. Her actual birthday isn't until Nov. 24, but she had a big party for herself on Nov. 9. How many of us can say that we have 250 PEOPLE that would want to celebrate our birthday with us? Wow! I hope I can have a party like that when I turn 80!

Corn Maze

Image A few weeks ago we went on an adventure and drove to Southwest City, MO to visit the Right Choices Corn Maze. Alan thought it was a little juvenile, but the kids still had a great time. My only complaint was that it was HOT, which made it hard to get in the fall mood!

Austin the Defensive End

Image
Austin is loving playing defensive end for the Jaguars again this year. Although he played for the same team last year, he was benched most of the season with a fractured wrist. Right now they are in the semi-finals of the tournament and we're keeping our fingers crossed that they go all the way to the Toy Bowl on November 1! Go Jags!

Allison the Cheerleader

Allison cheered for the 2nd & 3rd grade Commodores football team again this year. Although she commented more than once that it was not as fun to cheer for a team that never won, she had a good time with her friends and learned a lot from her coach, Miss Julie.

Last year they lost only one game and ended up winning their division championship. This year the poor boys didn't win a single game!

Up and Running!

As you can see from the one and only other post, it has been almost NINE months since I have posted. Christy finally came over and showed me how to add a cute background and change settings, etc. My plan now is to try to get caught up with some things we have been doing over the last several months. Wish me luck! :)

Snow!

Image
My friend Christy has been bugging me to do a blog for a while now, and this snowy day seemed like a good time to start. You're right, Christy - it really is easy!

We were hit yesterday with our first snow of the year. The kids were thrilled to wake up yesterday to the news that school was cancelled, and we found out yesterday afternoon that it would be cancelled today, too. This worked out well for us since Allison came down with the flu yesterday. The snow meant she didn't have to miss school for being sick. Her nice doctor said to let her go out if she felt up to it, so she didn't have to miss out on the fun.

Now all four of us are on Tamiflu (expensive stuff, but we hear it is worth it)!
