I completed another annual training with the Air National Guard recently. The time was well spent in the desert at a location that is G14 classified, but here is a picture to provide proof that I was there... in front of the radar anyway. It's hard to get a good picture from a cellphone. One of the biggest benefits to being in the National Guard is that you're never working simply to make money like you would for a business or corporation, you're working to ensure this country stays safe- now that's good motivation to get up in the morning. Anyone else know what that's like?

With very few exceptions, too much of anything can't be good for you. I drink as much soda as the next guy (drinking a diet soda as I type this), but the test subjects in this news article drank so much soda everyday that it's difficult to imagine them having time for anything else...anywhere from 2 to 9 liters! If that doesn't seem like much to you then try drinking nine liters tomorrow and let me know how that goes...

This is the laptop that the OLPC program is delivering. The idea is to get functional but very low cost (about $100.00/unit) laptops delivered mainly to underprivileged children in third world countries. The fun part is that if you buy one for $199.00 you get one and a child somewhere else gets one too (read more). Appareantly India is on board with the idea (read article). What an amazing age we live in where we can get kids onto Facebook but can't sufficiently feed them...but I guess increasing their knowledge of the world can only enhance their opportunities for the future. Kinda like teaching them to fish instead of giving fish to them. What do you think?
