Hover "PIN IT" Button

 

Thank you to one of my readers for suggesting I get the hovering "Pin It" button on my pictures.  I admit that I am a computer idiot.  So, I was a little nervous to try and figure this out on my own.  But, that is the beauty of the Internet!  I just typed in "How to install a pin button on a blog" and tons of tutorials came up!  I used this helpful tutorial from Code it Pretty.  It was super easy!

 

My "Pin It" button is in the top left corner of all my pictures now.  How cool is that!?

Old House Tour

 

I thought I'd create a post about my old house on Ashbrook Trail.  It's the place where I first started this blog and it saw lots of changes.  We lived there 8 years and made lots of memories there.  I loved that house so much! That house was definitely a diy house.  We did everything ourselves in that house and I loved every minute of it.  I hope you enjoy revisiting my old home.

Oh, how I loved this ladder!  I still get lots of emails about this ladder.  I was very sad when I couldn't find a place for it in my new home. 



 

 

I sure miss this granite.  I absolutely adored it when I first saw it.  It is Santa Cecilia granite.  You can go here to see the rest of the kitchen.

My Aunt LaTrelle and I made these curtains!  They stayed with the house when we moved.  The new owners absolutely loved them and I said they could stay.  

 

I love my faux mantle.  It has found a home in our new Master Bedroom and I think it adds such romance to the room.  You can go here to see the rest of the Living Room.

We worked so hard on this room.  We tiled the floor, painted the cabinets and walls.  But, it was all worth it!  The before and after are such a dramatic change!

Gorgeous Works of Art

I'm so excited and extremely proud to introduce you to my father's work of art!  His name is Timothy Dwight Taylor and he has created some beautiful landscapes and architectural artwork.

Lovely Fall

Just a few pics to get us in the mood for some Fall loveliness!!  Here in Texas it is still 98 degrees.  So, its pretty hard to think about pumpkins and scarecrows.  I might decorate the house next week.  Looking at all these inspiring pictures really helps!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 



Oversized Light Fixtures....Yes, Please!

I have fallen in love with over sized light fixtures lately!  I've been on the hunt for one for our living room.  Right now, we have a dinky ceiling fan.  With the vaulted ceiling, the ceiling fan tends to get lost and when you turn it on, you barely feel anything because it is so high.  So, off to Pinterest I went.  I have found such inspiring photos I had to share.

 

Here's a pic of the living room.  It needs some drama hanging from the ceiling!

But, I think this one has to be my favorite.  Its grand and has little whimsy thrown in.

Breakfast Room Reveal

The breakfast room still has many changes coming its way.  But, I wanted to show it to you for now.

The first thing we changed out was the light fixture.  I have been obsessed with lanterns and found this one at Ballard Designs.  The only problem it has is the bottom is covered so the light cast a shadow on the middle of the table.  No big deal.  But, now if you order this light fixture the bottom has been taken off.  So, it is completely open now.  Problem fixed.  I think they listened to their customers.  

This wall is about to get a huge makeover.  I've got something special planned for this wall!
