Ultrasound Pictures

Image Baby's first picture at 15 weeks. Can't see too much but it was nice to know that someone was in there!

Image
2 weeks later (17 weeks) his first profile pic.

ImageHard to see in this pic but definitely a boy!

Image These next pics are his level II routine ultrasound , 4 weeks after the first ultrasound (19 weeks). Another profile pic and his elbow.

ImageHis little foot! So cute.

Image His spine. Kinda creepy but it shows that he is developing just great!

ImageAnother cute profile pic. You can kind of see his hand playing with his face.

ImageThis is my favorite pic of baby. He's caught in the act doing his favorite activity: kicking me!

ImageAgain, definitely a boy!

ImageApparently he found his face. He is sucking his thumb here.

ImageA bird's eye view of his head and little hands to his right (all curled up!)

Good News!

I have good news to share! Erik and I are expecting our first baby in March! We are very excited. I'm currently at 21 weeks and just starting to show. Pregnancy has been great, I've had no nausea or any of those miserable symptoms they say you're 'suppossed' to have while pregnant. Guess I missed out on the "fun"! I've gotten very lucky to have such an easy pregnancy. I hope my luck lasts and baby is just as easy outside of me as he is inside! Yep, that's right our baby is a boy! He is due March 20th. We don't have any boy names we like yet. Despite not having a name, he has a lot of little clothes, a play pen and a car seat! :)

House II

Image This is the front view of our house, just before we put in an offer. After we moved in my mom and I put some plants in the front so it doesn't look so barren.

Image
This is what you see when you walk in the front door...a piano! And lots of empty space! That's right, we have NO furniture whatsoever besides the piano in the front room. Don't plan on getting any for awhile...unless anybody has a nice couch set they want to give us? And that pile of stuff by the piano is waiting for a a china cabinet.. Anybody have a china cabinet they want to donate? Everyone that comes in the front door always asks if we have just moved in. I can only say 'yes' for so long! Anyway, I moved all that stuff to the other room because now I use this room to teach piano lessons.
Image

Here is the kitchen. I think this the cleanest its ever been it it's whole life since we moved in. That's why I took a picture! Its nice and roomy. I love having a dishwasher...when I actually get around to loading it. Oh and the fridge was only $50! The neighbors mysteriously had it in their driveway for sale the day we moved in. We think it originally came with the house and they somehow ended up with it (hey, it was in the pictures...!) and decided to sell it to us. Just a speculation though. They're nice neighbors.
Image
The family room. Yep. It's nice :)

Image
Our bedroom. That's a king-size select comfort number bed, a move-in gift from my parents. Its like sleeping on a cloud. I picked out the bedspread..its such a pretty color! A word of caution: NEVER buy furniture from smokers! We purchased the dresser set from some really heavy smokers and the entire set was SATURATED in smoke and even after airing it out for two weeks and doing everything we can to get the smoke smell out, it we STILL get a whiff of old smoke every once in a while when we open a drawer. Its a really nice set though.

The office. Poor Erik spent hours putting this desk together. I helped put together the drawers :). We got this desk at Walmart, one of those "some assembly required" pieces of furniture. If it gives you an idea of how much work went into putting this desk together, just know that the desk came in flat, long box, that's right, a FLAT box.

Our garage and cars.

ImageErik working hard on the yard. This has become his latest favorite hobby. He really enjoys it having a yard! And so do I. That's our little garden on the right. We planted tomatoes and sweet peppers. The peppers have already began producing and the tomato plants are just beginning to blossom. I'm so excited for fresh produce!

The tree (you can kind of see it on the upper right) died as just as we moved in. We removed that dead tree a few weeks ago and are planning to put an orange tree in its place soon!

ImageEast side of house. That's a lemon tree. We thought it was a lime tree at first but then we noticed that some of the fruit were turning yellow.

Our New House

Erik and I moved from Provo, UT to Peoria, AZ towards the end of August '08. Erik accepted his invite to attend Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ for med school so obviously we needed some type of housing in AZ. We decided that since the housing market was doing so poorly and houses were so cheap that it was a great time to buy a home. Also since Erik was just starting med school, we knew we would stay here in AZ for at least 4 years...hopefully enough time for the housing market to pick up and for us to make some money off the house instead of throwing our money away on paying rent on a tiny apartment that wouldn't be much cheaper than the monthly mortgage cost on the house. Okay well there are ALOT more expenses that come with a house besides just mortgage...water, electricity, HOA, etc, etc. Despite that however, its great being a homeowner. Except those annoying telemarketers that call non-stop. LEAVE ME ALONE! The neighborhood is really quiet, especially for how many houses there are per block. Anyway we really like our house. And its really nice to have our own yard and garage!

Don't laugh...I'm new at this!

Okay I've never blogged before in my life and I'm not exactly sure why I have started. Perhaps because we have lots of exciting new things in our life right now I'd like to share with those who are interested enough to take the time to read our blog! I also don't keep a journal so hopefully blogging can help as a substitute for that. I'm pretty sure I'll be the only one posting anything but I'll keep you updated on how Erik is doing as well:)
