Friday Phone Dump

Our past week has abeen pretty uneventful...well except that we now have a TEENAGER in our home.  How in the world did that happen?  With this crazy cooler weather here in July our pool visits happen much later in the day and strength & speed are wearing Caleb OUT!!!!   Somedays we have been staying home all afternoon and loving having no place to be.

Change is very hard,  nobody wants it or likes it.  I want to remember this change we have been on for over a year and the blessings that came from it.  I would be lying to myself and others if we made the blessings part seem like they came one after another and there were know hard parts, but along our way there have been blessings that pop up and we never miss them.

Rob & I very separatley began feeling a nudge that we needed change.  So much of our lives had already naturally gone through some changes.....some very, very sad & what seemed like the hardest part of my life,  others just natural changes that happen over time (these words are not meant to sound dramatic its truly how it was).  After a long weekend away and finally discussing what we had been feeling we sought very wise counsel that confirmed what we were feeling.

We decided to do what we knew we were being told to and CHANGED. This past year has been some of the most lonely times we have ever felt as a family, but at the same time the most peaceful. There have been many tears shed and feelings of what in the world are we doing. Through it all we have reminded ourselves that we were never promised comfort and easy, but that we would never be alone no matter how lonely and sad we felt. We have been strectched beyond what any of the four of us thought we could be (yes the boys have felt it also) and the blessings no matter how small have never gone unnoticed.

 

We have no idea what is in our future,  but we know whatever it is we are not alone.



LaZy SuMmEr DaYs

As I mentioned before we all love a no schedule summer.

We have made plenty of time for movies, pools and snuggles.



I am so thankful we can have a few months to rest and relax. 

Well, HELLO

Summer is FINALLY here......can I get an AMEN?  I won't even try to make up excuses for not blogging in so long, but sometimes it really comes down to making a choice between 2 things and blogging never won.  I understand we all have the same amount of time in a day and we are all super busy, but I just could not figure out how to do one more thing.

Anyway........I really hope to do a better job even at least for the summer....so, we shall see.

I truly love being these 2 mother.  Over here it is by no means ever perfect or precious 24/7 or even nice sometimes, but God made us a family and I am so proud He did.

My favorite thing about summer over here is NO SCHEDULE.  We may have places to be and things to do, bu I make the schedule and if we don't want to do something we don't have too.  That being said,  our daily routine is about the same most days.  Our boys just do better with some sort of routine.  I mostly blame myself for that, but oh well.

This week was KidsGames and Caleb got to be a camp counselor and Cade was able to attend. (Rob also attended when possible).  They had a blast and cannot wait until next year.

Here is my attempt to blog again and I really hope I stick with it....even if its not all pretty.



The First Day of School

Here we go again....it's that time of year again.....the FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL. How did we get here so fast? It honestly seems like yesterday I was waking the boys up for the LAST DAY OF SCHOOL. We had a wonderful, fabulously LAZY summer, but even with how wonderful it was the boys were SO excited to get back to school. We woke them up with the first day of school song and a yummy warm favorite breakfast.

Their backpacks were packed with care & ready to go.

We did of course get ready in plenty of time for the FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL photo shoot....which of course they were beyond thrilled with.

How did we already get to sixth grade????

or third grade for that matter????

However we got here we cannot wait to see what the year as in store. We could NOT be more proud of these two boys God has given us to raise.

After school the boys came running down the hill with smiles of their face and with reports that "school is awesome & this is going to be a great year". These words were music to our ears. We are so thankful that God has blessed us with a crazy great school where the boys LOVE to go and can't wait to learn.

(i promise i was going to post this last night, but the boys went to sleep without a peep & i fell asleep before 9:15)
