Fiona's Birth Story

November came on quickly. And boy was I ready. Back in September I was having some anxiety about being a new mom, a new working mom, a new working mom and a wife. How was I ever going to keep my head above water. I was definitely terrified of messing up. After all becoming a mommy is kind of a bog deal. As we made our way into October those feeling disappeared some and the "I'm a huge pregnant lady, get her out" feeling appeared out of no where. With that being I'm in no way trying to say I had a hard pregnancy. In fact it was quite the opposite. Once I got to 14 weeks it was pretty much a breeze. I worked up until 3 data before I had her. Any who back to the real birth story. October 31 we tried to evict her with castor oil and some running around. Followed by lots of walking/ trick or treating that night. Ethan and I thought at one point that night we might being having a baby. My contractions were about 4-5 minutes apart and I was nearly in tears. I took some Tylenol and tried to lay down. November 1st was not many to be her birth day, I feel asleep and woke up the next morning. Fortunately I was put on call and some friends and I hit the zoo I spent the morning chasing my friends kids around trying to stimulate something. No luck again. So Friday November 3rd I went in for my last day at work until January. My parents arrived Saturday. Monday came and went. We were scheduled to be induced Tuesday November 6, 2012.

Ethan and I got as much sleep as we could the night before. Tuesday morning we were late! Yep I work in labor and delivery and gripe about my patients being late all the time. And there we were arriving 5 minutes late. After getting all checked in we got settled into our delivery room 2136. Working in this labor and delivery unit I was able to choose my nurses and my room. I chose 2136 because I had had 2 precipitous deliveries in that room. I thought it would be a good omen! Our nurse for the day was Melissa Jones. I worked with her on nights and had become good friends with her. I knew we would be in great hands. Dr Brakovec came to say good morning and check my cervix. A whopping 3cm. She tolde she didn't want to break my water until I got to about a 5. So Melissa got the go go juice (pitocin) started about 0900. I started hurting pretty significantly about 130 or so and it was time for the epidural. I tell my patients every time they need to sit as still as possible. I jumped 3 times! After I was good and comfortable Dr Brakovec showed back up. She broke my water sometime between 3 and 330. I was still about 3cm. The epidural was working great so great we all took a nap. 5pm rolled around pretty quickly and it was time to check my progress... 5 cm. It looked like we were on track for having miss Fi arrive about 11 jut like Dr Brakovec had guessed. About 6pm I started feeling some pain in my left side "a little hot spot". Patrick the CRNA that placed epidural came in to give me a top up. And in no time I was feeling great again. Let me tell you how much respect I have for those that have babies all natural!! We said our thank yous and good byes to Melissa. It was now shift change and time for her to go home. Debbie Wallace was now our nurse. Again in very capable hands. Dr Brakovec came in at 710 to tell us shed wait around fill about 11 to deliver Fiona but couldn't stay much longer then that. She also checked my cervix... 10!!! My response... Ur lying, are you kidding me. She said nope and asked if I wanted to labor down or start pushing. She thought I would only push about 40 minutes so we went with that. Debbie out new night nurse ran out the door to see if she could catch Melissa before she left. She did and we started pushing at 715pm. The top up to my epidural worked so well I did not feel a thing!!!!! Even though I didn't feel anything pushing a watermelon out a walnut hole is the hardest endurance test you've ever done in your life! Luckily I didn't have to do it for very long. Fiona May Eagar was born at 735pm. She came out Heaven sent and perfect in every way. I was so over come with joy/ excitement I couldn't cry tears of happiness. All I could think was oh my goodness Shea beautiful oh my goodness I just gave birth to a baby oh my goodness oh my goodness!! The very second Ethan laid eyes on her he was in love. Fiona weighed in at 6 pounds 8 ounces and was 19.25 inches long. We didn't get much rest that night but wouldn't have had it any other way. Ethan Fiona and I were discharged home a family of 3 November 7th at about 830 pm.

You hear all the time from friends and family that you will never understand a mothers love until you experience it first hand. Boy were they right!

Catching up

During this las school semester we had our lap top stolen. Sadly this had all the recent pictures from June until September ish. So the pictures in this post are of cell phone quality.

June was a very exciting month for us. Ethan's parents came to visit and we found out the sex of our beautiful baby... A GIRL!!! Ethan and I were in aw. As if it wasn't real enough already, being able to see her flip around in there. We were havinga little girl all of our own. Because Ethan's parents were in town visiting at the same time as the scheduled ultrasound they were able to join us and see their 5th grand baby live in action. What an all around awesome experience! Truly a blessing.

July 1st was a wonderful day as well. Ethan's side of the family welcomed another new baby. My third niece baby Aizley Lyn was born perfect in every way to Ethan's older brother T.J. and his wife Camry. Needless to say Ethan and I can't wait to me her. Also this day in July. Ethan felt our baby girl move for the first time! He was so excited he jumped up on the couch and did a little dance. It happened while we were watching a movie (7 days in utopia). Good movie by the way. Every time we hit a milstone like this one it becomes more and more real. We are going to be parents! These are the beginning memories that we have been praying for and waiting so patiently for ... What seemed like eternity but now only a short glimpse of time. How grateful I am that our Heavenly Father has us in mind. He knows us, loves us, and has a great plan for us. And waiting on our perfect little girl was worth it in every way. Even though we hadn't met her at this time we knew she was going to be one of the best blessings in our lives. She had already caught our hearts. At the end of this month my sister in law and best friend both welcomed their 2nd baby. What an amazing experience it is to be able feel the joy of a new life so pure and innocent.

August- was also an exciting month. I started into my third trimester. The second was a breeze. And some wonderful best friends of mine thru me Ethan and Fiona a baby shower. I say Ethan as well because he's pretty big part of this family but definitely was not interested in going. Because of the perfect timing of the shower my mom was able to make it down. This was so great to beable to share with ner. To say that our parents are excited about this baby would be the understatement of the year. As for Ethans parents... Well they're pretty excited as well. This will be their 5th grandchild and 3rd one this year.

Ethan started his 3rd semester at MCC. And has decided to persue a career in Construction Management.

September- A side from finally finding out what day I would be moving from working nights to working days!!! Ya Hoooo. My dad came to visit. We took the opportunity to relax and eat... A LOT!

October- It came and went super quick. Thank goodness because I was getting uncomfortable.Switching to days definitely will take its toll on a 36+ week pregnant lady We were blessed this month by my coworkers who so graciously thru me a 2nd baby shower. Ethan and I finished the nursery this month. We cut it right down to the wire. But it turned out perfect! Ethan did an amazing job designing and creating Fi's armoire. Towards the end of this month. The girls and I had a girls night out. We saw a terrifying movie (trying to get into the Halloween spirit). Upon arrival home I had to have Ethan meet me at the door in case something was out side to get me. I tried to evict Fiona by taking castor oil... Twice and then running after Moriah and Mels kiddos at the zoo. Only to wake up the next day more tired and still with child. That night, October 31st Ethan and I ate lots of sweets and had a blast trick or treating with the Carrs, Roggias, and the Powells.

The last few months in a jiffy ~ Part 1 of 2

Did you know that a jiffy is a real measurement of time? As I typed that last sentence out I could hear my sweet husbands voice in my head saying those exact words! HAHA I'm not really sure how quickly a jiffy passes, but in regards to this post its gonna be a lot of pictures from a long period of time in a short sweet and to the point blog post... Maybe not short. With my history thus far of not posting when certain events happen, I don't think these pictures will ever get up here if I don't just cut to the chase. So With out further or due... Our lives from December 2011 through March 2012

In February 2012 Ethan and I made a wonderful trip to the Dallas Temple. Took a couple of pictures. But I don't so much like them so we'll move right along to the next February event, Valentines Day.  We've been able to see a bunch of wonderful musicians from purchasing our season tickets to the Waco Symphony Orchestra. This month was no exception. The performance was amazing! We saw Chris Botti and incredible Jazz Trumpet player. We started the night by getting all dressed up and going to our favorite non high class and totally casual restaurant Newks. Then settled into our seats at the Grand Masonic Lodge for the show.

One of the restaurant workers totally thought Ethan was as stud in his suit

After taking 3 rounds of clomid it was again that time to test for 2 little pink lines. I was against it (testing this early) from the start but that's what best friends are for. With a little convincing and a couple of threatening statements from ... I won't name names (cough cough moriah) we headed to the drug store to pick up the box that would later determine our destiny for the rest of the year. March 1, 2012 Ethan and I found out I was pregnant. Because of the past events we decided to keep it a secret until we knew we were in the green zone.
 Waaa HOOO!

For Ethan's Spring break in March 2012 we headed back to Arizona. We decided to make the long drive so we could take Farley along. The main purpose of this trip... To help Dad Eagar finish some remodeling projects. And of course we had some fun while we were at it!

Ethan helping his Dad rip down a dividing wall in the front room
I sat on the couch and managed the situation (little did the fam know morning sickness, or all day sickness as I like to call it, had started to set in).

I would say that pretty effectively sums up December through March! What a crazy few months those were. Reflecting back on that time, there is one word that comes to mind... BLESSED. Ethan and I have been so blessed with the constant and continual support of our Great Friends, Amazing Family, and Loving Heavenly Father. We are thankful everyday for all that we have been given.
