Jordan's 9 Month Checkup

Yesterday we went to the doctor for Jordan's nine month checkup. She was up to date on her shots so no pokes for us this visit. I was super pumped because Jackson was with us. I wasn't sure how he would do with her being poked and crying. We recieved a good report. Jordan is growing well. She is 27 3/4 inches long and weighs in at 18lb 10oz. She has all kinds of tricks now. She is standing up and cruising along the couch or pushing her push toy around. I know she's probably not fixing to walk, but this girl has taken 1 step by herself 4 different times. She plays patty cake with us and she shakes her head no no at us when she knows she isn't supposed to do something....like touch the door stops. She is absolutely mesmerized by those things. I wouldn't mind if she played with them for the noise if that silly little black thing wouldn't come off. She would so choke on that. Jordan is as shy as can be and is a definitely a mama's girl...at least for now. Jordan still has her blue eyes which is very exciting and still continues to amaze me. Jackson's had turned brown already at this stage, so we just might have a blue eyed girl. I never expected to have a blue-eyed child. Anyway, below is a funny pic and a video I took about three weeks ago of Jordan and her push toy. She can go anywhere with it now. She isn't tall enough or strong enough to make her walker move so the push toy wins out.

Picking up a Hitchhicker-sort of!

This last weekend while in Harrison Jordan and I had a unusual experience. While on our way to Amelia's Birthday Party I saw an old lady walking down the side of the rode with some sort of brace on her arm with her thumb sticking out. I couldn't believe someone this old would be hitchhicking and I was worried about her so I turned around to go find out what was going on. I was scared at first...you know hitchhikers are always scary and on top of that it was just me and Jordan. Tons of thoughts went through my head, like what if it is a scary man dressed like an old woman...anyway, I really felt convicted to check it out so I turned around and went to talk to the lady. She was noticeably tired and had been walking for a while. I asked her if she was okay. She told me she had gone for a walk out of her house and got a little turned around and she was headed to Harrison, well she was going in the wrong direction and had been for I'm guessing about 5 miles..so sad. I told her to get in and I would take her home. I called Heather and Josh to let them know I had picked someone up and was taking he home..ya know, in case that I was attacked or something. They both just said okay and got off the phone...HELLO, ask a few questions...I could have been in serious danger here...anyway, I asked her name and a little about her. She sad she had just gotten out of the hospital yesterday. Why? Because she had decided to go for a walk the night before and slipped and fell in some mud and hurt her arm. Great, I've got a wanderer on my hands...and does she know how to get to her house...nope! I keep driving and ask her if she recognizes where we were and nothing....I almost called 911...I mean what do you do in this situation?? Luckily I turn on a road and I see a police officer driving toward me! Praise the Lord!! I start flashing my lights and waving my arms. Then I turn in a driveway and wait for him to turn around. I was sure he got the point. He probably thought I was nuts. Anyway he pulls up and I say this here is...."BESSY, What are you doing?" he says. I just started laughing. Even the police officer knows who she is...He was happy to take her home for me and I was happy that she was going to be safe, at least for now. I thought this was really sad, but I really got a laugh out of Bessy.
