Reading, Writing and Texting?

Reid and I had this conversation yesterday while we were driving and it just cracked me up.

Reid: When do I get to learn to write in cursive?

Me: I am pretty sure they start teaching you cursive in 3rd grade.

Reid: Great, I can't wait to write in cursive. Pause. But more importantly, when will they teach me to type fast on my phone?

I couldn't help but giggle. I had to explain that they don't actually teach you that in school, you just have to learn on your own. :)

I love my boy.

Reid = 2nd grader

How can this be? Our sweet baby boy is growing up so fast. Reid had, in his words, "an awesome" first day. He really likes his teacher and has some friends in his class. I, of course, was nervous for him, but he took it all in stride. My heart just swells with pride...

Our lovable little nephew is about to turn 3 so we partied it up, Scooby Doo style, today with the little man.

A Belated Wish

Today is the first day in three days that it hasn't been 102 INSIDE our house. Yes, you read that right - 102. Our A/C went out on Tuesday and yesterday evening the repairman FINALLY arrived with relief. So, due to gross amounts of sweat and barely being able to breath in the house, this post is a little delayed in action, but not in thought.

Now on to important stuff. Wednesday, August 4th was my parent's 37th Wedding Anniversary...yes, 37 years of marriage. I couldn't ask for a better example of love.

Our weekend

We had a busy, but oh so fun weekend as we headed out to Eastern Arkansas early Saturday morning to see our good friends, Scott, Stevee and Baby Eli. Eli was born in December and we just now got to meet him and squeeze that little guy's cheeks! Reid had a blast while we were there too. He was thoroughly entertained with fishing, swimming and his all time favorite, driving their golf cart! He insists we must get one too. We also made a quick trip by UAMS-NICU on our way home to visit Baby Elam again. He is getting stronger every day and is still absolutely adorable incase you were wondering. :)

Thanks again to the Pryor's for a great weekend and especially to Eli for letting us love on him the whole time!
