Mimi and Papi's Visit

Last week Josh's parents came to visit and we made the most of every second while they were here. Reid had his last flag football game, Josh got another win, we spent the day at the pumpkin patch/corn maze, grilled out, shopped a little in Little Rock, and met up with my parents for some great BBQ! We were so glad Mimi and Papi came down...we are missing them already!

Our Weekend

We had an absolutely fabulous weekend. Friday night, Hubby and I had a sweet date to Italian Gardens, then we came home and crashed early. We both really needed some rest and a good night's sleep. Saturday we slept in until 9 which was bliss! Then we headed out for our day of "Golf Extravaganza" as Hubby referred to it all day. We played about 27 holes of golf and loved every. single. minute. We were 2 of about 6 golfers at Chamberlyne CC and soaked up the solitude and just focused on being together. Pure awesomeness.

Sunday was my crafty day. I had seen a lot of the chalkboard menus on various blogs and knew I wanted one for our kitchen. It would keep us organized and well, they are just too darn cute not to have one. So, here is our version...

ImageDon't judge me. We have a crazy, hectic week this week, so we have a lot of "sandwich" type meals planned that are quick.

And lastly, I saw a creative little Halloween bucket on a blog the other day, so I decided to alter it just a bit and make one for our main man, Reid. I laminated the Halloween paper incase it rains and I also added black/green ribbon to the handle to spruce the plain white up a bit. The final product...

We have a fun week up ahead. Josh's parents fly in on Wednesday and we have 3 football games, Pumpkin Patch, Corn Maze, Haunted House, grilling out, meeting up with my parents and a lot more planned. We can't wait!

Boys of Fall

If you haven't ever seen this video, you MUST take a few minutes to watch it, even if you aren't a football fan. I will admit, I first watched it because it was about football. However, I recommend it because of the video. The speech that the high school football coach gives at the beginning...well, I will just say it...it made me cry. His speech isn't about football, its about life. The coach mentions he hasn't played high school football in 27 years and what still amazes him is how fast that 27 years has flown by. That made me stop and think. Every day, every week, every year is flying by. Just as the coach says, we have to live in the moment...soak up every minute because it all goes by too fast. Enjoy...

Lucky Day

The Edgin house is a big fan of Pawn Stars and Reid is obsessed with selling something to them and making thousands. He has suggested we sell the big "pots with sticks" that sit as decor in our living room and swears we can get atleast $600 for them. So, today he was pumped when he found this on our street. He is certain it is a rare coin like he has seen on the show.

Image
Yes, it is a $1 coin from the Dancing Indian Casino. He immediately said we had to keep it and take it to the Pawn Stars next time we are in Vegas because it could be worth thousands! So, now it sits safely in our dresser for our next trip to Vegas.

Image
So, Reid is on cloud nine after his lucky day and is waiting patiently to take it and redeem his riches for this priceless piece of history. :)

Football Frenzy

We are right smack dab in the middle of football season...both Josh's and Reid's and lovin' every second of it. Josh nabbed another win against Greenbrier last night and Reid's team is undefeated...that's just how we roll. So unbelieveably proud of my two guys. I am one lucky girl.
