Logical Thinking

Reid is only 7, but that boy is smart. Yes, I may be a little biased, but his logic is too funny sometimes. He has had a loose tooth for about a week now. Reid was explaining his last incident with the tooth fairy to Josh's Grandma and began to logically plan out his next note. He reasoned that if last time he asked for $30 from the tooth fairy, then this time he would just ask for $300 to insure he received the $30 since she obviously takes a "0" off from your request. He proceeded to determine that he could just go ahead and ask for $3,000 and then he would get $300. It was quite the interesting conversation to say the least.
Image He finally managed to pull his tooth today, so tonight is the big night. The tooth fairy better stop off for some lottery tickets before she heads to our house, otherwise that $300 isn't looking likely.

Burn!

Conversation that just occurred between Reid and Josh...

Reid: Can anyone really survive the Bermuda Triangle?

Josh: Tons of people have survived it.

Reid: Oh well, a lot of ships have sunk there too.

Josh: Do you even know much about the Bermuda Triangle?

Reid: Yes, it is a triangle near Miami, Florida in the Atlantic Ocean. Not the Pacific, but the Atlantic. Oh yeah...burn!

I am still laughing...

They have my heart...

Image
My two boys...they own my heart. Josh often refers to me as the "domino" when it comes to Reid. Yes, I cave quite often to that sweet little man. How could I not when he always replies to my "I love yous" with "I love you more!" Melt. My. Heart. I am so lucky to have these two loves and I completely adore them both. One lucky girl I am.

Image I received these at work as a surprise from my sweetheart. Gerber daisies...my all time fave.

He also gave me this...Image A man who gives me flowers and jewelry on Valentine's Day...pretty impressive, right ladies?

A ring with "such as life" stamped on it. Josh used to say this to me all the time (and still does) when things just don't fall into place the way I believe they should. Now, I catch myself saying it. It has become our own little motto in a way. Whenever something unpredicted or uncontrollable happens, we just shrug and say, "Such as life." I mean really, you can't control life, so might as well just enjoy the ride.

My sweet boy and I partied it up at his classroom Valentine's Party. We made the raved about Candy Cane Heart suckers for his class and they were a huge hit! Such a cute idea and so fun to make. Image

Image We also made some other goodies and boxed them up nice and cute to hand out to some special ladies at school and to Reid's teacher.

Also, my sweet and creative friend, Kara, made me a precious Valentine bouquet with chocolate! I don't have a picture because well, let's be honest, I already ate all the chocolate. But, it was delicious, you will just have to take my word.

Such a fun and sweet Valentine's day it was at the Edgin house. Now, the planning has to get into high gear for Hubby's 32nd birthday week that is just right around the corner...

Catch Up

The snow has allowed me to finally do a little catching up on the ole blog so here goes...

My Dad, Mom and Mr. Joe have been working feverishly to restore my Dad's drag racing truck. As you may remember, he wrecked it (to put it mildly) in a race back in the Fall and has been working to bring it back to life ever since. He finally has it ready to race and now we are just waiting on decent weather to test and tune it at the track. If you see a bright glare coming from Centerville, it will be my dad smiling driving down the race track. I think his whole "pit crew" is ready for him to get that thing back on the track.

Image We took Reid's motorcycle down to my parent's a couple of weeks ago just to let him ride it around their farm.

Dad and Reid enjoyed irritating the cows in the pasture with it. In case you didn't know, his Papa hung the moon and his Nana would buy him the moon. :)

Just like most other schools in the state we were greeted with a "winter vacation" this week because of the snow storm that blew in earlier this week. We were already scheduled to be off this Friday due to professional development that we had already completed, but then the snow came. We were given a nice little 5 day weekend. Josh commented that he could get used to these 2 day work weeks and Reid and I quickly agreed! It has been so nice to catch up on things and just relax. No games to go to, no homework to complete, no papers to grade. Just family time and lovin' every second of it.

We, of course, ventured out yesterday to get in some sledding and tubing down the huge hill at the Lock and Dam. The boys had a blast. I enjoyed taking a few pictures then watching the rest of the fun from the warmth of the Yukon with the my trusty seat heater on high. If you didn't already know, the cold and I aren't exactly "friends." I can only stand it for so long then I am outta there. Reid and Josh ate it up though and took in every second of the white bliss.

The extra time at home has allowed me to do some recipe searching as well. I found a tasty sounding little number on Pioneer Woman's blog that I just had to try. It involved all the food groups - bacon, chicken, and cheese.

Image It did not disappoint! Josh even asked me to save the leftovers...something we rarely do at our house, so you know it must be good. Then I decided we must have a dessert and knew exactly what I wanted...

Image I {heart} cookie pudding. What?! You don't know what cookie pudding is? It is heaven. Period. Common folk call it Banana Pudding, but we aren't banana fans around these parts, so we nix the bananas and thus we have Cookie Pudding!

Now...off to eat it and savor every. last. bite. And no, I don't share. :)
