Franta used up all the kelp heads he collected on Pescadero Beach last week, so I took him to Muir Beach & Stinson Beach.

Butterflies

Tuesday Jen & I went to see the butterflies at the Conservatory of Flowers. Later saw the prodigious Gilbert & George show at the DeYoung. Also the Anne Hammond show there was very inspiring, and the Turkmen rugs were pretty great too. Here are photos from the butterfly zone:

Franta Skala BBQ

We hosted a BBQ for Franta Skala at our house. Just a small group, mainly people who know Franta, plus a few East Bay people I thought should meet him. The weather was perfect. All in all the best BBQ I've had.

Baker Beach

One of my favorite things to do is to go to Baker Beach for sunrise or thereabouts. I stop at the bagel place on Geary, get some roast beef on a salt bagel, some coffee, drive to the main parking lot & hike down to the nude beach end, closest to the Golden Gate Bridge. Strip, chew & nap is the preferred agenda. I hadn't done this in a long time, a couple of years. Decided it was high time, so off I went. But it was still a little early in the year (this was actually around the 11th of APRIL) so the sun didn't get up over the cliffs as soon as I'd hoped, and it was too cold to get nekkid, so I just took photos & made a little village.
