A Hard Drive’s Night: Beatles songs reinvented for iTunes
“I am particularly glad to no longer be asked when the Beatles are coming to iTunes” – Ringo Starr
So it has finally happened. Apple Corps (pronounced “CORE“) and Apple Computer have stopped arguing about names and copyright and this and that and have come to an exclusive agreement to sell the 13 studio albums, plus collections on iTunes. It’s also possible to buy a virtual box set – virtual because it comes without a box. Hmm.
So if you don’t already have a full collection of Beatles mp3s, converted from your legally-bought CDs, no doubt, then this is the time to splash out and get them.
To celebrate the “coming together” of the Beatles and technology, The Guardian‘s Tech Blog offers the following Top Ten of reinvented titles. Don’t miss the comments – some of them are excellent!
1 – Being For The Benefit Of Mr Jobs
2 – The Long and Winding Download
3 – I’m So Tired of paying for songs I already own
4 – Ebook Writer
5 – She Came In Through My Bathroom Window and nicked my iPad
6 – Let It USB
7 – While My Guitar Gently Tweets
8 – With A Little Helpline From My Friends
9 – When I’m 64 bit
10 – Mac In The USSR

Blackbird, by The Beatles – Video and lyrics
From the legendary White album, one of the lesser-known and played Beatles songs, but a personal favourite 🙂
Remember that you can request a particular video and lyrics by leaving us a message under this post.
THE BEATLES – Blackbird (Lennon/McCartney)
Album Name: White Album
Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise.
Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these sunken eyes and learn to see
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to be free.
Blackbird fly Blackbird fly
Into the light of the dark black night.
Blackbird fly Blackbird fly
Into the light of the dark black night.
Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
