"The Napping House"

We love this book at naptime, bedtime, and everytime in  between.  My kids quickly picked up on the subtle 'light' changes throughout the book, which makes this book fun to look at and listen too.  Its a classic  story where the lines build upon each other, and make for a surprise ending.  This book is the recipient of numerous awards, for both storytelling and illustrations.  I've given this book for birthday and baby gifts' before, as we think it's classic every home should have!

"If I Built a Car"

We are in love with this book, and here's why:

It is the winner of the EB White Read Aloud award given to books who fall under these criteria:

"In 2006, in recognition of the fact that reading aloud is a pleasure at any age, the award was expanded into two categories: Picture Books, and Older Readers.
Books are nominated for their universal appeal as a “terrific” books to read aloud."

While I think its a great book for boys, my girls love it just as much.  It's not only fun to listen too, but very fun too read as well!

Enjoy!

The "Little Pea"

We came across this book at our small, but mighty, library in Spring Hill, TN a few months back. It is a favorite of ours:

"Little Pea"
by Amy Krouse Rosenthal and Jen Corace

It is a story about a little pea who must eat all his candy in order too get his favorite food, a bowl of spinach! Tyler loves the silly-ness of this book. Sometimes at dinner we say: "Tyler, you need too eat ALL your candy if you want your bowl of veggies!" He just laughs it off, and it always puts him in a great mood. . .

These authors have also written such titles as "Little Hoot", and "Little Oink", about staying up too late and cleanliness.

                                    You'll love it!
