So they say...

Lucy started preschool in January and she loves it! Recently her teacher told me that when she said, "I think we have time to read one more book" Lucy added, I don't think I have time Mrs. Moberly.
Today when she kicked a friend who fell and got hurt I tried to explain to her that she had to play more softly. She replied, "But mom now you're making me sad too!"
A few months ago the same friend who she kicked...his Dad was giving a prayer church and we were sitting in one of the first rows. During the prayer she said rather loudly, "He is SO handsome!"
Sometimes she'll say randomly, We are not twins. We're 15 months apart.
Her favorite threat lately is "You are not coming to my birthday party!!"
When King did something she didn't like she said, "Mom! King made a bad choice and he's getting farther from Jesus."
When I'm frustrated or tired she asks me several times a day, Mom are you happy?"
Last week I got a speeding ticket and cried like a baby in front of the kids. Apparently it really upset the girls bc they frequently comment, Mom you're going too fast! You don't want the police to make you sad again!
I paid the ticket today at the city office and Sofie asked how much it was.
Me: a lot
Sofie: daddy's going to be sad huh.
Me: Ya probably.
Sofie: Well how much do you have left?

King @ 18 precious months

King turned 18 months 2 weeks ago which is a milestone because he entered nursery! He is my baby and I have always had a baby on my lap at church since Sofie was born over 4 yeas ago. I might have been a little bit sad but in fact almost overlooked this milestone as we were called to be primary teachers for the 4 year olds at the beginning o the year. Heavenly Father sure knows what I need.
King is an absolute joy to have in our nest. His latest loves are...
Pop (stands for popcorn and lolly pops)
Shoop (shooting hoops) He is shockingly good at it.
Dada. He used to call out for me when he woke up. Now it's "aunt dada" repeatedly, meaning I want Dada.
Mock. Meaning milk. His one true love.
Reee or book when he wants to read, which is close to constantly.
Sof for Sofie. He refuses to say Lucy.
Emms for M & Ms.
Matt and Momo for Matt and Maria
Sssah for Sally.
Jump. He loves the trampoline.
Fish. The crackers and the aquarium types.
Ball. Obvi.
Those are most of his favorite things including hats, shoes, and goss (lip gloss).
I just wish I could capture all of the cute new things he says and does everyday!

Ps. Post on the wild/creative things Lucy has said lately to come ;)

A movie with Mimi

Beauty and he Beast was showing at Thanksgiving Point so we decided to take the girls when Mimi was in town. It was in 3D which scared Lucy a bit but she was entertained and awed for the most part. It was a fun afternoon.

Eliza's Wedding

We arrived home around 10 pm on December 27th. We quickly tucked the sleeping babes in bed and I hurriedly packed and prepared for my trip to DC with King. My sister Eliza had gotten engaged 5 weeks previous and since Jarem was already committed to work the week after Christmas I was headed to the wedding without him and the girls. I finally finished my preparations around 1 am only to awaken at 430 to make my flight. If you have spent time with King you know he is a joy and delight but any 17 month old would become restless after this much travel. I was equipped with a bag full of his favorite things and found myself switching activities every 30 seconds to 2 minutes in order to entertain him. Although he had had little sleep the night before he isn't one to fall asleep while being held. He did doze off for a few moments only to be awoken by an announcement from the pilot. It was exhausting but I know that I would have been much worse off had I been alone.
After 2 long flights we arrived and it was great to see my Dad, Maria and Matt there to greet us! The next two days were a whirlwind of wedding festivities and lots of people in one house. In my old bedroom slept myself, Eliza (her last night before the wedding) Sally and King in the closet. My parents, grandparents and uncle Mike were in the other 3 rooms. Maria and Matt and Devin and spencer were in the basement rooms.
On the morning of the wedding Sally and I helped Eliza with her hair and make up and it seemed like everyone was running in different directions trying to get the last minute details finished. As we arrived at the temple on the afternoon of the 29th I realized I had left my temple recommend in Utah. Jarem quickly got in touch with our bishop, calls were made and I got to see my little sister be sealed to Dave forever. It happened to be the same day and place Jarem and I were married 5 years previous.
It was a wonderful day and everything went off without a hitch in my opinion. King had the time of his life with so many aunts, uncles and grandparents doting on him the entire time. Matt and Maria seem to be his favs. Although I don't know Dave very well I am happy to have gained a brother. Welcome to the family!

A Hallows Christmas

We had such a delightful time with the Hallows for Christmas. We played lots of Just Dance and pickle ball. We played at the park, jumped in the jump house in the front yard, ate out-of-this-world grilled cuisine, had a girls afternoon out, went to a movie and sat around reminiscing on the past year. We had a lot of fun but didn't feel quite complete without Ari, Danny and Tristan.
We do a sibling gift exchange and the favorite gift I gave this year was to Brian who got a gift card to his most beloved restaurant Red Lobster. The expression on his face was one of pure happiness. A great Christmas time was had by all.

Sofie is 4!

For Sofie's 4th birthday party we had a couple of her girl friends over for a Pinkalicious nail party. After reading the book Pinkalicious we took the girls to get their nails painted.
