Last night was fun, let me tell you about it. First of all, David had to do a deployment for work from home. So I took the boys over to his parents for a little yard work for awhile, came home, bathed the filthy boys, read them their nightly stories, called Dave up for prayer, watched some wrestling, prayed, left the room, heard Dave say repeatedly “No more jumping!”, heard crying, saw gaping head wound, looked for big bandages and insurance cards, sent child with head wound to ER with Daddy, killed spider so other child would go to bed, waited, worried.
Finally, a little after 1am David brought a nicely stitched up Benjamin home, hyped up from the red popcicle they had bribed him with. He was wide awake and quite the little chatter box. His inch long gash require one inner stitch (it went all the way to his skull) and five on the outside. We finally got him to stop talking and go to sleep around 2am.
I should mention that Dave still had work to do when he got home from the ER and then got up early this morning to go clean the church, after which he went and helped weed his parents garden. He is a gem.
