Lessons In Logics
If your father is a poor man, it is your fate. But, if your father-in-law is a poor man, it's your stupidity.

UNCONDITIONAL ACCEPTANCE
Breakfast at McDonald's
This is a good story and is true, please read it all the way through until the end! (After the story, there are some very interesting facts!)
I am a mother of three (ages 14, 12, 3) and have recently completed my college degree. The last class I had to take was Sociology. The teacher was absolutely inspiring with the qualities that I wish every human being had been graced with. Her last project of the term was called, "Smile." The class was asked to go out and smile at three people and document their reactions. I am a very friendly person and always smile at everyone and say hello anyway. So, I thought this would be a piece of cake, literally.
Soon after we were assigned the project, my husband, youngest son, and I went out to McDonald's one crisp March morning. It was just our way of sharing special play time with our son. We were standing in line, waiting to be served, when all of a sudden everyone around us began to back away, and then even my husband did. I did not move an inch... an overwhelming feeling of panic welled up inside of me as I turned to see why they had moved. As I turned around I smelled a horrible "dirty body" smell, and there standing behind me were two poor homeless men. As I looked down at the short gentleman, close to me, he was "smiling". His beautiful sky blue eyes were full of God's Light as he searched for acceptance. He said, "Good day" as he counted the few coins he had been clutching. The second man fumbled with his hands as he stood behind his friend. I realized the second man was mentally challenged and the blue-eyed gentleman was his salvation.
I held my tears as I stood there with them. The young lady at the counter asked him what they wanted. He said, "Coffee is all Miss" because that was all they could afford. (If they wanted to sit in the restaurant and warm up,they had to buy something. He just wanted to be warm). Then I really felt it - the compulsion was so great I almost reached out and embraced the little man with the blue eyes. That is when I noticed all eyes in the restaurant were set on me, judging my every action. I smiled and asked the young lady behind the counter to give me two more breakfast meals on a separate tray. I then walked around the corner to the table that the men had chosen as a resting spot. I put the tray on the table and laid my hand on the blue-eyed gentleman's cold hand. He looked up at me, with tears in his eyes, and said, "Thank you." I leaned over, began to pat his hand and said, "I did not do this for you. God is here working through me to give you hope." I started to cry as I walked away to join my husband and son.
When I sat down my husband smiled at me and said,"That is why God gave you to me, Honey, to give me hope.." We held hands for a moment and at that time, we knew that only because of the Grace that we had been given were we able to give. We are not church goers, but we are believers. That day showed me the pure Light of God's sweet love. I returned to college, on the last evening of class, with this story in hand. I turned in "my project" and the instructor read it. Then she looked up at me and said, "Can I share this?" I slowly nodded as she got the attention of the class. She began to read and that is when I knew that we as human beings and being part of God share this need to heal people and to behealed. In my own way I had touched the people at McDonald's, my husband, son, instructor, and every soul that shared the classroom on the last night I spent as a college student. I graduated with one of the biggest lessons I would ever learn:

Happy-Belated-Merdeka
Yesterday was Malaysia's 50th birthday. Memorable? Well, not for me. All I did was 2hours of badminton in the morning, sleep, eat, watch TV, and a little revision.
Time to hit the books, stay tuned for the next post.

I'm myself again!!
Special thanks to:
- HannJiunn for helping me feel better through sports
- Esther for waking me up from dream land
- Terng Sheng for teaching me really effective methods to forget someone
HAHA!! I feel so myself again.
God really taught be LOTS through this painful experience I had. He also help me realised how important are friends in life. Its true that only in times of trouble and depression that you'll identify your true friends.
By the way, I finally got back my pendrive with photos from peaksheng. I'll try to upload some in the next post (gosh, I've been saying this for I-wonder-how-long-ago). Haha!

Sorry
This post is dedicated to a certain someone, whom I've hurt much this week. Sorry for all the empty promises and talks I've made. Well, I really didn't want things to turn out this way, but I didn't take enough precaution towards the external factors. All I ask for is your forgiveness.
As for the stress your going through, remember that God strengthens us by giving us more problems to solve. Read this Our Daily Bread passage for 1st August 07. It says that "God is using our pain to refine us and make us better, not bitter". Hope God will continue to guide and bless you in your services to Him.
On the other hand, I'm still waiting for PeakSheng to return my pendrive with the Japanese Dance photos. It has been more than a week since I passed him my pendrive. ZZZ... I'll upload some nice pictures soon. Until then, stay tuned!

Civilisation Is Important!
There are many ways to control a crowd. The first step is to analyse the situation. ALWAYS consider other's feelings. Shouting and giving orders will NOT drive people to move, well it does if your of some authority, if not? Shut The H3LL up PLEASE!! (highlight to read) Imagine other shouting at you to ask you to do something, would you like it? I bet not, but if you do, I have no comments. Always treat others with the respect you would want other to treat you with. However, if you still insist on 'helping', do consider the word 'please'. For various reasons:
1) It is polite
2) Other's will feel more respected
3) It humbles oneself to gain the respect he deserves from others.
The Bible teaches us to forgive and forget. So I shall forgive you. As having hatred againts someone, you have already murdered that "someone" in your heart. Its obviously a sin to do so. Moreover, you are my brother-in-Christ.

Japanese Dance
Well, I'm in the Japanese Dance, choreographed by Lee Yee Eng. The dancers are mainly form5s except for 4 students. As the saying goes, a picture speaks a thousand words:
Japanese Dancers: And now, a 'candid' shot of us preparing for the actual photo:
Note: Pardeep, what/where are you looking at? MingXiang poser of the year. MayLing looks "erm"..
Haha! That's all for now people. Until my next post, Adios!

THE GREATEST MAN IN HISTORY
Had no servants,
Yet they called Him Master.
Had no degree,
Yet they called Him Teacher.
Had no medicines,
Yet they called Him Healer.
Had no army,
Yet kings feared Him.
He won no military battles,
Yet He conquered the world.
He committed no crime,
Yet they crucified Him.
He was buried in a tomb,
yet He lives today.
I feel honored to serve such a Leader who loves us!

Weirdo
I was eating happily until i hear some funny noise. I turned back and saw this really big guy, tall and quite fat, wearing his pants higher then his belly button!! He was making some weird sound, something similar to cries of a retarded gorilla. He crushed a finished coke tin in his hands and washed it at the basin. After that, he washed the straw as well. Next he rinsed the inside of the tin and poured the water out carefully. After all this effort in washing the coke tin....
Wth? =.="

PBSM Broga Camp
To be honest the preparation wasn't done well, but the outcome was good. We started the day with ice breakers. We played Egg > Chick > Chicken > Champion. After which, we had a full day of activities organised by Terng Sheng, Robin and I. Its a 3-in-1 game style, including indoor, outdoor then indoor activities.
First was the indoor activities. We gave each groups 4 situation prepared by our beloved teachers and asked them to answer it. Then we played simple activities such as Mississippi, Marching Game and The Human Machine.
For the outdoor games, we split each groups to 4 sub-groups each. Each sub-group will complete some tasks at different stations. The 4 stations tested each sub-group on different aspects including Strength, Photographic Memory, Designing Intelligences and Communication Skills. We decided not to have in the same-old-way other camps does because we want each member to know that they play an important role in helping the groups get marks for the indoor activity later on. By doing this, each individual will feel more independent rather than depending on other members on the team to get the marks.
Lastly we had the indoor games at night. Before the indoor game started, we made a market like situation where we, the facilitators were selling miscellaneous items such as paper clips, balloons, old news papers, strings, old shirts, umbrella etc to members. The points obtained by each sub-group in the previous outdoor games were summed up and each groups' total marks were calculated. The marks will then act as 'cash' to purchase the items we sell. The items purchased will then be used for a Fashion Show! I never knew PBSM members were that creative!
The second day we had a string of outdoor activities organised by the Broga people. We started off with Obstacle Course. The Broga obstacle course includes 11 different tasks. To be honest, all 11 were as easy. The hard part of this course is to help the weaker teammates in the group. In addition to that, we were given a long (approx 6ft) bamboo stick to act as out extra teammate. That stick have to go through all the courses the same way, and it cannot touch the ground. I must say that as PBSMers most of us were physically and mentally weak.
Next we had the Low Ropes and Spider Web. For the Low Ropes, its just strings tied from tree to tree and all we have to do is cross from the start to the end without touching the ground. There were 5parts in total. I felt the 4th part is the hardest among all, but overall its still a simple course. As for the spider web, its a spider-web-like structure tied with strings between 2 poles and all we got to do is transfer all the members in the group to the other side, without touching any of the strings. Sad to say we facilitators groups sucked big time in this. =(
Later in the evening we had Pond Rafting. Same like any other raftings, we had to build our own raft with bamboo sticks, barrels and raffia strings. As I already have experience in this activity, my group managed to make a stable raft. But sadly group3 made a raft more stable than ours. When we were finally done, we went rafting! Some groups' raft detached as soon as it was placed on the pond surface. It was soooo funny!!!
At night we had Talent Night. Just like any other camps, we had sketches AGAIN. But then again it really depends who is in charged of talent night for new and fresh ideas. Fortunately the talent night wasn't organised by me =). After the talent night, we had... ... ... DISCO!! You wouldn't believe it, but we actually blasted loud music with the PA system, offed the lights and danced with torch lights only. Even the teachers joined us! The effects were ok, except we only had white and yellow lights.
The last day, we went home. Don't feel like talking about the not-so-happy-things.
Overall this camp was better than I expected. As part of the organising committee, I really think that the results of the camp was a lot a lot better than planned. With all the last minute planning, not-so-dedicated committee members, and lazy/irresponsible planning of certain committees, we really don't deserve such results. By its all God's Will that the camp was a blast.
As for the small details of certain activities, I'll leave it as memories for the PBSM members only. I'll try to upload pictures when I get them from Yoong Jie. Until then.... stay tuned!

CF Camp ~FloodGates~
The Theme for CF Camp '07 is "FloodGates". The reference verse from which the theme came from is Malachi 3:10:
[Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.]
On earth, floodgates are gates to prevent water from pouring out in water damps. But FloodGates of Heaven means that Heaven stores lots and lots of God's blessing for us, and there will come a time when God will open up the FloodGates of Heaven and shower out all those blessings on us. So much that we wouldn't have enough room to store them =D
We were really blessed to have XYZ (Xtraordinary Youth Zone from DUMC) to lead us in worship. They were a great band and had a deep passion for God. Nontheless we had Pastor Andy Yeoh to share God's word with us. Ps Andy is the Youth Pastor for Acts Church and lead vocalist for Altered Frequency. He is a fun, energetic and youthful pastor, who really understand the thoughts and acts of youths now a days. For the first talk, he shared from the Parable Of The Lost Son from Luke13, with reference to the other 2 parables in the same chapter. He reminded me of how Christians seemed well and okay on the outside, attend church services regulary, does quiet time daily and worship God... BUT feeling lost inside of them. These group of people don't know their purpose in life and in God's plan for them. I got to admit I'm from that group and did not realise it until last Saturday. Pray hard for me that I'll be able to get back on the right track and have a closer relationship with God =)
After that we had a workshop by David Khoo who shared with us about sex and then prayer. We also had games and loads of fun through out the camp.
The best part of the camp is no other than the Night Rally. We were blessed to have Acts-treme from ACTS Church to lead us in worship. The atmosphere in the chapel hall was beyond words. People jumping and shouting and worshiping God with all their hearts, and I also felt God's presence. After which Pastor Andy shared God's word with us again. This time he shared with us from Luke19, Zacchaeus the Tax Collector. In the end of the talk, he challanged us to give our lives fully to God and allow Him to change us so that we may change other people. Together we can make a differences in the world out there.
Overall, this camp is indeed a great success as 3 new people has gained salvation. Which also means 3new people have been reborned into the big Christian family. =)
From this camp, I managed to witness God's faithfulness and grace. I pray that God will continue to pour out His blessings on the 3new people who have accepted him as their personal Lord and Saviour.

Jogathon
This project was organised by the Interect Club and Prefectorial board of Wesley Methodist School. I was incharge of safety and security together with SzeJian, Jethro and the PBSM members. So before anything started, JingHang took us around the route once to place interactors and PBSMers at stations to ensure no one gets badly injured or uses short cuts to cheat. So after a long walk around the route, I finally reached the gathering point again.
Right after Mrs Matthews finished her speech, I walked another round to make sure PBSM members are all set and ready. Half way walking, the race started. After that I walked another round to deliver goodie bags to PBSMers.
To cut the long story short, one parent trashed all our students. Shameful isn't it? Anyway, Kenji won 1st place for male students category and I forgot who won female students category >.<
There were 3 Professional PBSM people that came too. I managed to learn alot more about PBSM from them. Its really a great experience overall..

Operation
I was lying on a bed in the surgery room. Staring into the bright light above me. I started my stopwatch when the doctor came with an injection and injected my lips. OUCH!!!!! It was SOOOOOOOOO PAIN!!!!!!!!. 2seconds later that part of my lips felt numb. Then when he injected the 2nd time, there was no more feeling. From then on, all I could see was the doctor and his assistant' hands moving over my eyes and doing God-knows-what on my lips. I felt his scissors cutting something in my lips but it wasn't pain at all. It felt as though he was just touching it. After very very long, he was finally stitching back the cut. After 18minutes and 42seconds (18:42:63 to be exact), he finally finished the operation. My lips still felt numb and I couldn't talk nor open my mouth for 5minutes. Alas,
After that, the nurse passed me my MC incase i needed it. This conversation took place
Nurse: Okay, here is ur MC from the twenty two to the twenty-second January
Me: Twenty two to twenty-second??
I bursted out laughing and my mum was controlling herself not to laugh. It was actually 22nd-27th January. I was like.. WOW! 6days MC just because of a minor operation, LOL!
Thats about it, now I can do everything normally except that I may mumble abit while talking. The 10 horrible stitches will be in my lips for 3weeks =(. LOTS of medicines to take including some medicine for gaggling after meals.
A word of advice, if you're scared to see blood, ask the doctor to make u unconcious before the operation. I wonder how much blood have I lost in 18minutes and 42seconds @.@
Above all, I felt that God was with me all along. I prayed really hard that it wouldn't be pain and it really wasn't. Thank You God!

The story is about Echizen Ryoma who is a young Pete Sampras. He won 4 consecutive championships in the American Junior Tennis Tournament. He enters the junior high school (so good and barely in 7th grade) of Seigaku, which is known for one of the best tennis club. He becomes a regular. So his adventures begin by playing against his own teammates and other boys from other schools.
Echizen Ryoma, talented young player. Creative in creating new styles and skills
My favourite characters:

My Fri and Weekend
During the 1st clubs and society time of the year 2007, I was SHOCKED to see the usually empty PBSM to be FLOODED with people. Around 100new members came! But i heard most of them were forced to enter PBSM, and we also wouldn't want to force ppl to join our club, so we allowed those who wanna quit to quit. 'BROOOOOOM' the club was empty again, only around 20new members left. =.=
12th-13th Jan (Friday noon till Sat noon)
4pm sharp on the 12th of Jan, the internal prefect camp started. It was indeed a camp of lies and flies. Besides Angeline, the other facilitators may tell lies, so 99% of what the other facis say are nth but rubbish.
At night, we slept in tents, on wet sleeping beds because our tents were NOT water prove. 6ppl were suppose to sleep in my tent but when 5 were in, the 6th person didn't even have any space left to sit! sorry ming xiang. It rained while we had some activities, rained again before everyone slept, and rained AGAIN while everyone was sleeping! How on earth is the tent and zzz bag suppose to dry up?!! Some people got so fed up on the stuffy and roasting hot tents and wet zzzbags that they decided to sleep in the open (outside the tent). Apart from that, there were LOTS of irritating suckers commonly known as mosquitoes all around, yes, that includes IN the tent. I had 21bites before I slept, but when i woke up, all the bites were gone. ^^ Overall, the camp was great, got to learn alot more abt being a prefect. Too bad i had to leave early due to a pre-arranged doctor's appointment
13th Jan (noon)
Went to Pantai Medical Center to see a doctor. He came late and we got impatient. The nurse didn't even know we had the appointment with that doctor! When he finally came, he talked for 5minutes and set another appointment next week for the operation. So basically I had an appointment with the doctor to arrange the next appointment =.=
13th Jan (eve)
My sister's+my birthday party in our house, around 30 of our friends came, excluding some other adults who are my mum's friends. We played empire (a game of memory and guessing nicknames), strip cho dai di (only jiunn was brave enough to strip his cloths), sing K, jammed and feasted! Some of my friends stayed overnight too.
Tks all those who came, tks for the presents/angpaos too!
Sorry to those who felt bored/leftout or the if the food didn't suit your taste too...
PS: My birthday is not 13th Jan
14th Jan
As for today, I didn't go to church because my friends were in my house. So i missed the 1st day of youth class and didn't get to change my VBS CD. Haih...... but I had a great time with my friends too. Besides, my electric guitar came! So happy but I dont know how to play it YET. After learning some simple chords, I had to continue with my never ending homework.

Names
On the day of the interview, only 3people came.
The 1st lady came in..
Businessman: Hi, whats your name?
Lady1: Its Lily.
Businessman: Why such a funny name?
Lady1: Oh its because when i was born, a lily fell on me, thus my parents named me Lily.
The 2nd person that came in was another charming lady..
Businessman: Hi, whats your name?
Lady2: Its Rose.
Businessman: Why such a weird name?
Lady2: Oh its because when i was born, a rose fell on me, thus my parents named me Rose.
Abit annoyed the businessman invited the last person in to his room. He was surprised to see that its a man, a rather ulgy looking man with a half twisted face..
Businessman: Hi, whats your name?
Man: Its Piano.

P.U.S.H
PUSH for Life
A man was sleeping at night in his cabin when suddenly his room filled with light, and God appeared. The Lord told the man he had work for him to do, and showed him a large rock in front of his cabin.
The Lord explained that the man was to push against the rock with all his might. So, this the man did, day after day.
For many years he toiled from sun up to sun down, his shoulders set squarely against the cold, massive surface of the unmoving rock, pushing with all of his might. Each night the man returned to his cabin sore and worn out, feeling that his whole day had been spent in vain.
Since the man was showing discouragement, the Adversary (Satan) decided to enter the picture by placing thoughts into the weary mind: "You have been pushing against that rock for a long time, and it hasn't moved."
Thus, he gave the man the impression that the task was impossible and that he was a failure.
These thoughts discouraged and disheartened the man.
Satan said, "Why kill yourself over this? Just put in your time, giving just the minimum effort; and that will be good enough."
That's what the weary man planned to do, but decided to make it a matter of prayer and to take his troubled thoughts to the Lord.
"Lord," he said, “I have laboured long and hard in your service, putting all my strength to do that which you have asked. Yet, after all this time, I have not even budged that rock by half a millimetre. What is wrong? Why am I failing?”
The Lord responded compassionately, "My friend, when I asked you to serve Me and you accepted, I told you that your task was to push against the rock with all of your strength, which you have done.”
“Never once did I mention to you that I expected you to move it. Your task was to push. And now you come to Me with your strength spent, thinking that you have failed. But, is that really so?”
“Look at yourself. Your arms are strong and muscled, your back sinewy and brown; your hands are callused from constant pressure, your legs have become massive and hard.
Through opposition you have grown much, and your abilities now surpass that which you used to have .”
“True, you haven't moved the rock. But your calling was to be obedient and to push and to exercise your faith and trust in My wisdom. That you have done. Now I, my friend, will move the rock.”
At times, when we hear a word from God, we tend to use our own intellect to decipher what He wants, when usually what God wants is just a simple obedience and faith in Him.
By all means, exercise the faith that moves mountains, but know that it is still God who moves mountains.
