Charleston Fly Fishing Charters
The
stage for your inshore fishing adventure comprises one of North
Americas unique and altogether exotic environments. You will
discover endless sweeps of shallow water flats, hidden creeks,
blue-green bays and wild, forested islands.
The
Charleston fishing waters wreathing
this semi-tropical panorama team with redfish (spottail bass)
the year round. April and May bring higher (spring) tides which
carry feasts to redfish feeding in the flooding spartina grass
flats Paris77. These tides provide access into these green realms by
boat, or my favorite way, wading to the fish that seemingly
beckon with waving tails. This continues on into the early
part of November depending on the weather, always. The hard-fighting
Jack Crevalle abounds through the late summer months in Charleston
Harbor, and speckled trout, flounder, bluefish, ladyfish, sheepshead,
black drum, spanish mackerel, tarpon and numerous varieties
of shark lurk as well.
Into
September and continuing with the cooler water as the weather
turns colder, the water clears, and the redfish get into enormous
schools. This makes it an ideal time to fish from October
to March, to come and sight fish these reds, at the best time
in South Carolina.
