What Our Visitors Say

Fantastic experience ✨

I had the pleasure of bringing my elderly parents to visit Foynes Flying Boat Museum last week, and I have to say the experience was fantastic. From the lady at the front desk, the film on the history of the flying boats, Maureen O’ Hara’s exhibition and of course lunch, the whole visit was wonderful. Many thanks to you all, I would definitely recommend this Museum ❤️

Excellent guided tour

Our group of 8 people were able to book a guided tour of this museum (typically a minimum group size of 10) by agreeing to purchase 2 additional tickets. There is a self-guided option, but we agreed that having a guide was money well spent since our guide (Natalie) was able to share lots of information without us having to read each and every exhibit sign. The museum is well laid out and informative about an airport, airplane and history that most people never hear about. There was lots to love about the museum, but my favorites were walking through the full-size replica of the Boeing flying boat and learning the history and making of the famous Irish coffee.

A Museum you really have to visit.

I love aviation history and this museum definitely met and exceeded my expectations, and my whole family enjoyed our visit. The unexpected connection to Hollywood enhanced the experience, especially for my wife. The introduction video was excellent and the exhibits were comprehensive, detailed and nicely presented and composed. The replica of the Boeing 314 was great as was the interactive ‘flying’ experience. The staff could not have been more welcoming or helpful.

Learning the history of the Flying boats

Such an interesting place with lots of history on the aeroplane industry. I often heard my father talk of the Yankee Clipper landing in Foynes harbour in 1939 but to actually be able to go inside a model of the Yankee clipper was amazing.
