Way To Go Joshua

We went to our last pack meeting (for two years anyway) the other night. It was a big night for Joshua. He has been working really hard in Cub Scouting. He earned his Webelo badge back in February. Since then he was working on getting his Arrow of Light award. That is the only award that transfers from the cub scout uniform to the boy scout uniform. The scout leader did a nice ceremony. It was a good night. We are proud of Joshua for all his hard work!

Cute Scott

Image
With the warmer weather approaching I had to dig out all the summer clothes from last year. Of course all of Scott's clothes were too small. So Scott told me that all his shorts were too small and I told him that I would go to the store to buy him new clothes. He looks at me and says, "Can you take me with you?" I asked him why he would want to come clothes shopping with me and he said that he wanted to pick out his own clothes. It was actually fun to go to the store with Scott and have him pick out what he liked. He was a little more picky than I thought he would be though. This is just one of the outfits that he got. Handsome boy! Oh gone are the days when they just put on whatever I get for them with no complaints.

Yet Another Birthday

Joshua just turned eleven. I cannot believe that he is eleven already. I have been trying to scrapbook Caleb's pictures lately and have been looking at all the pictures when the kids were little. It makes me sad that they are all growing up so fast. Well for his birthday dinner Joshua decided that he wanted to have a barbeque. We invited Granpa and Grammy over to eat with us as well. After our yummy dinner Joshua opened his presents. He got the game he wanted...Warcraft III, a new mouse for the kid computer since he's been the one complaining that the old one didn't work very well and more Starwars Legos. He was definitely a happy boy! After presents we had cake and ice cream. Joshua wanted a chocolate, chocolate cake...the boy takes after his mom....yummy! It was a fun evening.

Small Joys

One thing that I love about Scottie is that even though he is almost thirteen he goes out everyday after school and swings on the swing in our backyard. This simple act seems so innocent to me. He plugs his MP3player into his ears and swings for a long time. It's fun to sit and watch him.

The first time I tried to take a picture. He caught me, stopped swinging and asked what I was doing. He wasn't too happy that I was trying to take a picture of him on the swing. So today I had to be a little more sneaky...he had no clue!

Emma Turned Nine

A week ago Emma had her ninth birthday. She got a surprise when she got home. Her birthday present from mom was a pink room. When we moved into the house I painted her room a pretty, bright green and then she had pink accents. Emma liked it, but has always wanted a pink room. So I painted all day...I thought I could get the room painted and set up before she got home from school but no such luck. Emma was very surprised and excited to have a pink room. I also got fabric and made her a twin quilt to go with the pink room. Her quilt is finally done. It was actually very easy and only took me a few hours to piece. A friend of mine took it to a quilt store and long armed it for me...it looks amazing. Emma loves it! I will have to take pictures of her room and quilt when the room is all done...still working on the decorating. Emma decided that she wanted Hawaiian Haystacks for dinner so that's what we had. Unfortunately she had a bad headache before dinner. After we coaxed her to take something for her headache she felt much better. We had Grammy, Grandpa and Aunt Natalie over for some cake. I think Emma had a nice birthday.

Bowling Fun

We ended up not going anywhere during Spring Break. Our second week off we decided it would be fun to go bowling since we hadn't been in forever. There was a special going on so we played three games. Luckily we got two lanes so it didn't take too long to get through all six of us. It was a lot of fun. Caleb was the biggest sport out of all the kids. He didn't really care that he didn't play well. Emma was a little bit unhappy that she didn't knock a lot of pins down. Scottie and Joshua were hard on themselves too. That was really the only challenge. I just wanted to have the family together and have fun...but my kids are just too darn competitive! :) Miraculously I won the first game...then tanked after that. Scott won the other two.

Easter Day

Easter morning the kids were really excited to go find their Easter baskets. I had them each take turns looking for their baskets so there wasn't chaos through the house. The took turns from youngest to oldest. They each found their baskets quickly. They loved all their yummy candy.

The best part of Easter day was having the opportunity to watch General Conference. It was a very uplifting and inspiring day.

We had Grammy and Grandpa over for the afternoon session of conference and for dinner. It was a really nice afternoon. We had a yummy dinner and desert. We played games and had fun visiting. We wish we could've had all of our family around us on this holiday week-end.

Easter Egg Hunt

After watching General Conference on Saturday we decided to have our Easter egg. The eggs were hidden all around our backyard. Luckily the weather was decent that day. The kids had fun running around looking for the eggs. They were aloud to get twenty each. Lots of fun and lots of candy.
