Note: using these requires LaunchBox 9.10 beta 1, or above. The files in the attached archive are the start of my effort to create 'default' images for most of my installed platforms. Copy the archive to your <launchbox install directory>\Images\Platforms directory and extract there. Start Launchbox, select your matching platform names, then refresh all images. Any missing media in your same image categories as mine should now show up (you may have to rename some of the extracted directories if they don't match the platform names in LaunchBox). I modeled most of these on graphic types from EmuMovie assets. Please feel free to make requests, or post your own default images. The archive has files for the following platforms: 3D Nintendo Entertainment System Acorn BBC Micro Acorn Electron Amstrad CPC Amstrad GX4000 Apogee BK-01 Arcade Atari 800 Atari 2600 Atari 5200 Atari 7800 Atari 7800 Homebrew Atari Jaguar Atari Jaguar CD Atari Lynx Atari ST Bally Astrocade Bandai Sufami Turbo Bandai Super Vision 8000 Camputers Lynx ColecoVision Commodore 64 Commodore 128 Commodore Amiga Commodore Amiga CD32 Commodore CDTV Commodore MAX Machine Commodore Pet Commodore Plus 4 Commodore VIC-20 Dendy Dragon 32 Dragon 64 Emerson Arcadia 2001 Entex Adventure Vision Epoch Super Cassette Vision Fairchild Channel F GCE Vectrex Magnavox Odyssey 2 Mattel Intellivision Microsoft MSX Microsoft MSX2 Microsoft XBOX Microsoft XBOX 360 MS-DOS MUGEN NEC PC-8801 NEC PC-9801 NEC PC-FX NEC PC Engine NEC PC Engine-CD NEC SuperGrafx NEC TurboGrafx-16 NEC TurboGrafx-CD Nintendo 3DS Nintendo 64 Nintendo 64 (Japan) Nintendo 64DD Nintendo DS Nintendo Entertainment System Nintendo Famicom Nintendo Game Boy Nintendo Game Boy Advance Nintendo Game Boy Color Nintendo GameCube Nintendo MSU-1 Nintendo Satellaview Nintendo Switch Nintendo Virtual Boy Nintendo Wii Nintendo Wii U Nintendo WiiWare Panasonic 3DO Philips CD-I Philips Videopac G7000 Philips Videopac Plus G7400 PopCap RCA Studio II Sega 32X Sega CD Sega CD 32X Sega Dreamcast Sega Game Gear Sega Genesis Sega Master System Sega Mega-CD Sega Mega Drive Sega Saturn Sega SG-1000 Sharp MZ-2500 Sharp X68000 Sinclair ZX-81 Sinclair ZX Spectrum SNK Neo Geo AES SNK Neo Geo CD SNK Neo Geo Pocket Color Sony Playstation Sony Playstation 2 Sony Playstation 3 Sony Playstation Vita Sony PSP Sony PSP Minis SpectraVideo Super Nintendo Entertainment System Super Nintendo Entertainment System (Pal) Tandy TRS-80 Tandy TRS-80 Color Computer Windows WonderSwan WonderSwan Color -
Hey guys, so a few months ago i decided to buy the bigbox subscription. I've been trying to play some xbox games with xemu and some games won't work. The issue is the game will load, the sounds are all there, the game will respond to inputs but the screen will be black except for the toolbar for xemu at the top. Itll load the start up screen for xbox but that's it. The game I mainly want to play is need for speed most wanted 2005. I don't know which other games don't work but other people in my house have tried a few others and have had varied results with some working fine and others having the above problem. The computers running Microsoft Windows 10 pro with Intel corei7. Thanks to anyone who takes the time to read and to anyone who responds. Cheers!

This is my first platform theme that I am making available to the community. My work blends a few influences relevant to the platform while showcasing the machine itself along with the games the platform ran: 1) Music made using sounds available on the platform 2) The platform's boot screen if available 3) Commercial influences usually in the form of the platform's marketing jingle. 4) The platform's packaging. In this way, the platform video itself gives an accurate interpretation of what the platform is, was marketed as, and what it looked and sounded like. The version available on Launchbox-app.com has no watermark.- 3 comments

Started a project a while ago to create a complete set of stylistically coherent banners. And when I say complete i mean complete. I used the LB platform list as a starting point and branched out from there, covering every platform I could think of, and made a few up for my own use. I went with a "nebula" style background since it seems like that's what kids are into these days and searched for high quality assets. Obviously this means the starting point was Evan Amos's photos and THK's logos, but I used many other sources as well and quite a few of the logos were just not available in decent quality online so I actually made a bunch of both company and platform logos by hand. This collection is US centric so American names and images are given priority above international counterparts. I'm already working on a set of Euro-centric banners though, so don't feel left out. After that I might begin working on a Japanese-centric set if I feel up to it. We shall see. Comments and advice are more than welcome. If you notice any glaring mistakes or omissions, please don't hesitate to point them out. These are actually pretty easy to edit and replace. Suggestions on changes needed for the European set are also quite welcome. Anything outside of the obvious (Mega Drive, blue swirl for Dreamcast, different SNES, different Vectrex logo, different 7800 controllers, etc.) is something that I'm likely to miss. I'm aware that not every one of these platforms is emulated yet but I'm less concerned with that and more concerned with getting as many platforms included as possible. Please enjoy! In LaunchBox BigBox, i’m having graphical issues with the "platform / category / playlist" videos. They are glitchy, and look like this: Image 0145 . The Nahimic program is uninstalled from my PC and disabled using windows service. As per the following forums link: BigBox Graphics issue! I tried manually adding both LaunchBox and BigBox using the Nvidia Control Panel, but that didn’t help. Any other suggestions?

CriticalZone / CriticalZone - BlueBox View File Here you can download alternative versions of the CriticalZoneV2 theme that comes bundled with every LaunchBox installation. CriticalZone is a BigBox theme designed for the usage of widescreen platform videos and utilizes videos as backgrounds. This theme was designed for widescreen displays with 16:9 aspect ratios and optimized for a display resolution of 1920x1080. It will also work with other widescreen resolutions and 16:10 aspect ratios but it may not look as polished. Available Versions: - CritcalZoneV2 - BlueBox: A blue color variant of CriticalZoneV2. It features blue texts instead of green and has a different Default background created by @SentaiBrad - BackgroundVideoOnly: All Views, except the TextList Views, will only use video loops as backgrounds. Also available as BlueBox version. - BackgroundFanartOnly: All Views will only use Fanart images as backgrounds. Also available as BlueBox version. -> Use this version if you have performance problems! - 1.8: The original and now old version of CriticalZone. It's officially EOL and won't get supported by me in any way. It's just still here for archiving reasons. There’s also a red 80’s/Cyberpunk themed version of CriticalZone called “CityHunter”. It’s maintained by @keltoigael and can be found here: How to install: Just download the version of choice and extract the archive into: “..\LaunchBox\Themes\” Open the Options menu in BigBox -> go to “Views” and change the Theme to the version you just have installed. IMPORTANT: CriticalZone V2 requires LaunchBox v7.11 or higher! Known issues: - The description texts in all Platform Views and CoverFlowWithDetails Games View won’t fill the whole space of the descriptions box when you use CriticalZone with a higher DPI setting than 100% or a lower display resolution than 1902x1080. It gets progressively worse the higher the DPI settings and/or lower the resolution is. Thanks & Credits: Thanks to @SentaiBrad for creating the new Default background video for the BlueBox variant. South of Midnight is actually good! I expected to play it for an hour and get bored, but the characters, story, exploration and platforming are interesting and fun. Plus the nice visuals pulled me in. The only downside is how you encounter enemies and the simplistic combat. This isn't a game where you encounter enemies all along your travels. Rather you enter certain sections of the map that are hubs and a mini boss fight begins with several enemies. Beat it and the evil branches decay and that section of the map returns to normal. Rinse and repeat somewhere else. Like I said earlier, It's the story, the characters you encounter, exploration and platform in between where it really pulls you in. If you ever do play it. Go into the options, then Gameplay and turn off the Stop Motion Effect. It can give you a headache. The game then becomes a fluid 60fps. Except the cut scenes keep the Stop Motion Effect. It's part of the art style.

Hi folks. Been working on a plugin for 2 years to do various things, but main feature being per game/platform controls layouts. However, just recently hit a major blocking point. It seems each IPlatform has no unique identifier? I had been working around it historically, but I now need to map data against each launchbox (lb) IPlatform and thus need a unique identifier on the lb platform to ensure these are mapped correctly. However, I can find no unique identifier on the data object. I have scoped this out in VS and via the api ref here: https://pluginapi.launchbox-app.com/html/092c865d-74b6-4a39-e6d9-cda1235d8355.htm I did try getting a hash via IPlatform.GetHashCode, but this produces different Hash on each lb run without any discernible changes to the IPlatform data object Also tried examining the GUID via Iplatform.GetType(), but this returns the guid of the data object type, not the instance. Frustratingly, I see IGame and IEmulator both have an Id field, but cannot leverage the latter to form a unique ID in my plugin as there appears to be no link to the ascribed emulator for a platform via `IPlatform[] platforms = PluginHelper.DataManager.GetAllPlatforms();` So onto trying to generate a unique ID: Sadly, there also seems to be no 'created date' (i.e. when the IPlatform data object was created) which I could have leveraged for a unique ID. I also considered using ScrapeAs, Name or other such variable, but these of course can change and contain duplicates. So, in short, is there any way to get or generate a unique ID for each IPlatform function?

A set of 155 (with more to come) platform videos, that I have created to match perfectly with my Refried theme. I have used the same character,Background, and border art in the videos, that is in the theme, for the majority of the videos. I am sure it's obvious where the influence came from for the theme, but, this whole thing started out as an alternate version to the Unified theme, which sort of took off and became something slightly different overall. While I do have plans for about 60+ more videos to add to this set,I am afraid I cannot take requests,at least until the project,as a whole, is completed. A special Thank you to @RetroNi for allowing me to use his white bordered logo set, with a few changes, for the titles in these videos...As well as @CriticalCid for giving me the unspoken inspiration to even start this project in the first place! Hey there, I'm currently importing various MAME/MESS system that might have different media/medium for a system, e.g. Atari 800 that has cartridge, floppy disk, and casette. Is there any recommended way to create only a single platform but easier way to group by Media? Reason being the emulator command differ depending on the media, especially when using MAME emulator, using -cart for cartridge, -flop1 for floppy, etc. Wish LB has a native field called Media or Medium for us to sort. Also thinking of using Version field but it's best reserved for its original purpose. Initially I was thinking to use a Custom Field: Media, then generate auto playlist based on the filter. Unfortunately the auto playlist field didn't support custom field. Another approach is to create separate platform for it, such as Atari 800 (CS), Atari 800 (CT) and Atari 800 (FD). But doing is is convoluted and make BigBox navigation more cumbersome. Wish to see how you guys did it!
