Easter

On Easter morning we woke up early because Gage was so excited that the Easter bunny came to visit. Gage opened everything in his basket and then woke me up. Brooklyn heard him and woke up at about the same time. They hunted for eggs and ate lots of candy. We went to church, then Gran's for lunch. At night Brooklyn didn't want to take her dress off. After her bath she kept asking for pretty dress. Gage, of course, didn't want to wear anything so we have some pictures of him hunting eggs in his underwear. It was a fun day.

Spring Break 2008

We are having fun everyday on Spring Break. Monday Gage and I went ice-skating. Tuesday we went to Chuck E. Cheese with Mimi and Savannah. In the afternoon I had to go get a root canal which wasn't fun at all. On Wednesday we went to see Horton Hears a Who with GP. Gage loved it so much he didn't want to get up to go to the bathroom. Brooklyn wasn't as interested. She talked through the entire movie, but it was so crowded that nobody seemed to notice. Today we went to the Dallas World Aquarium. Jacob has today and tomorrow off so the kids were really excited to see him at home this morning. Tomorrow we are going to try to find Brooklyn a daycare for next school year. We have stayed very busy.

The Best Park

Last week was kind of boring, so Jacob and I really wanted to take the kids somewhere different this weekend. On Saturday night we went to an Italian restaurant for Uncle Shawn's birthday. We had a good time seeing Shawn and Missy and learning that we can move in with them this summer if we have to (which I've been worried about). On Sunday we went to the best park ever. It is at Joe Pool Lake and it is new so there aren't that many people who know about it yet. We were almost alone there, but a few kids showed up. There is a beach right next to the park, so we walked on the sand for a little bit. It was too cold to stay, but we have some good pictures so that when the kids get older we can pretend we took them on a beach vacation! The pictures look like Hawaii, right? I'm pretty sure I am going to have Brooklyn's birthday party at this park instead of having it at our house. I will let you all know soon. We really had a fun weekend.

Brooklyn Loves Housework

Brooklyn does not get this from me. She had a great time doing the dishes the other day. Sadly there will be a day when she will get over her fascination with bubbles. For now, she sure is cute trying to "help".

Super Hero Gage

Image

As most of you know, Gage has been in a superhero phase for about 2 years now. Yesterday on the way home he asked me if Krpyton was on this planet. After I said no, he thought for a few minutes and asked, "Can I still grow up and be a superhero even if I am from this planet?" What do I say to that? He really thinks that when he grows up he will become Batman or Superman like it is a career. Just ask him! I feel like I'm crushing his dreams when I tell him he is from Earth, and he will never be able to put on a cape and fly. Good thing he never believes what I say anyways.

Ice-Skating Lessons

Image

We wanted Gage to get involved in a sport, so he is taking ice-skating lessons. At the first lesson, he looked over at me and shook his head no as if to say, "This isn't happening again." Now that he has had a few lessons, he is having fun and he is really learning how to skate. Hopefully he will be ready for hockey next.

Trying Something New

I am trying out this blogspot because my friend Taryn has one and it is so cute. I don't want Myspace because I am a teacher and some people in my family (dad) send me the craziest emails. So hopefully my family will check it out and see pictures of all of the entertaining things Gage and Brooklyn do each day.
