Senior Night 2024

Having a Senior is Crazy.  You really don't think of all the lasts... until they have come and gone.  I don't think we will realize that this will be the last time we watch Jinettie play basketball until next year when basketball is starting up again.  She is an amazing athlete.  A natural on the basketball court.  She has had an amazing season this year.  She has overcome so much adversity in the four years she has played.  It truly has made her be resilient in so many ways.  To say the least, we will miss watching her play, but are so excited for her Track season as a high school senior, then onto the collegiate level.  She has sooo many younger girls that look up to her, but the most important one is her little sister.  She is going to miss having this big sister around and being able to go cheer her on on the basketball court.

12 Years Later!!!

Image

January 15, 2024.....  WOW!!  Look where we are.  I want to kick myself for not keeping up with my Blog because I look back and see what was documented.  Then I have to remember I can't go back, I can just move forward.  I still have pictures, but not the documentation for the last 12 years.  Boy, did they fly by.  Layla wasn't even apart of my blogs :( and now she is 10!!  I am not going to try and catch up, but I am just going to move forward.

We are now living in Soda Springs, Idaho.  Clay's home town.  We moved to the area in March of 2020.  During COVID.  We had moved from Middleton, Idaho and had lived there for 2 years.  The 2 years in the Treasure Valley were tough for Clay and I, so we were so excited to move back to Eastern Idaho.

We lived in Grace for the first two years while we built our home in Soda.  We moved in our home July of 2022.  Clay and our good friend from Middleton (Cache Gulch) built the home.  It is beautiful and we love it.

Jinettie was finishing her 8th grade year in Middleton when we moved.  Everyone moved to online school, so she finished it in Grace.  She started her Freshman year at Soda Springs High School.  She is now a Senior!!  We are 4 months away from graduating our first born.  She is an amazing young women.  A testimony of Gold, a kind heart, and an example to all.  She just signed to run track for Idaho State University.  Due to her hard work in her school work, she is getting some money for her grades and the rest will be covered by her Track scholarship.  So she will be on a full ride.  She is an amazing athlete.  She holdks so many records and has only lost one 400 M race.  We love watching her run!  We ar excited for her to continue your athletic endeavors as she gets to go onto college.

Cole is a Sophomre.  He has grown so much.  He is a fun, loving kid who just wants to be "jacked".  I have seen a determination in him this year that hasn't been there in the past.  He had an amazing Football season.  Even though his team did not win a football game this year, he had an outstaning season.  He played with so much confidence and it was so much fun watching him even though as a team there were no wins.  He never gave up and played as hard as he could.  He is currently wrestling and has started out doing well.  He is a natural athlete and is improving each meet.  Last year, in a tough weight class, he made it to state as a Freshman so we are excited to see where he will go.  (He does wrestle because his Aunt has told him if he wants to be good at football, then he should wrestle).  He loves football.  He is also very smart... just doesn't always apply himself.

Jace is an 8th Grader.  It is Crazy to think that this is possible for him to almost be a Highschooler.  He is a great kid with a competitve edge.  He hates to lose!!  He is fun kid, who goes to another level to make people laugh.  He is a respectful kid (at least that is what I'm told).  He also LOVES football.  He is a little small right... but when I didn't think he was ever going to grow physically, I can actually say, he is finally growing.  He is currently playing basketball, but he to will take the route of wrestling when he is in High School.  I guess when you have outside influences of your Uncle being the coach of Soda and your Aunt and cousins all being involved in Wrestling... what else do you do.  He is fiesty and doesn't quit.

Layla is in 4th grade.  She loves everything and anything her sister does, wears, likes, etc.  She is a mini of Jinettie and is definitely 10 going on teenager years.  She started piano this year and has been doing so good with it.  She is a standout student who loves to be involved with anything the highschoolers are doing.  She loves going to games so she can be with her Bestie (Ellie Moldenhauer).  She loves to wrestle with her dad and she loves being with her mom.  She is her cousin Roper and Charlie's favorite person... and she loves to go and see them whenever she can.  She is also going to be a runner like her sister.

Clay is currrently in the Bishopric as first counselor.  He was put in last April.  He is busy doing everything that needs to be done and finished on the house, fixed on the vehicles and whatever else keeps him busy.

I am in my 3rd year at being an SLPA for the school district.  It is rewarding at times, very busy, but I love having the same schedule as the kids and they work around me coaching at the middle school.  All in all.... we are very busy and sometimes don't know which way we are going, but usually whatever wat we are going is supporting these kids in the things they do.

My goal is to get on once a week and blog the previous week or close to it.  I'm sad that I haven't but I can only start from here.  Here's to a news years resolution!!!

Sublett Campground Sept 29, 2012

Our last Camping trip of the year.  We tried to fit as many as we could in with school starting and fall coming.  Our last one was to Sublett which was fairly close to us.  It was one of those things we just hopped in and went.  It was a different place -- we like the trees and this didnt have much for trees.  The reservoir we passed was low as well.  We were by a creek though and the first morning we woke up I could hear something.  It sounded like an animal-- sure enough it was a HUGE moose.  The moose was just on the other side of the creek.  It was AWESOME.  The kids thought it was pretty cool.  We also went for a hike up the mountain.  It was fun-- the kids got tired though.  We even have a picture of Jinettie pouting because she was tired.  The boys were troopers though.  IT was a great end to a fun summer of camping.  We can't wait to go more!

Labor Day weekend Sept. 2012

Image

We decided to go camping over Labor Day.  It was a rough start but we ended up having  blast.  We started out with a surprise party for Grandma Titcomb.  She was turning 80.  It was fun, the kids love playing with their cousins.  After the party we headed to our campsite.  It is off the lava exit-- called good enough campground.  Last year my dad told us about it, and we loved it.  The weather wasn' t the greatest and on our way there we had neighbors call us and tell us that there were tornado warnings.  We ended up missing our turn so Clay went up further to turn around.  We had my Dad's 4 wheeler in the back so the tailgate was down.  Clay knew he had to take it wide.  Well, as we had just finished the turn, he heard a crunch-- yep.  Dented the tailgate and the propane tanks a little.  We actually must have done a little one when we came out of the church parking lot.  So, once we got to our site-- and was about done setting up, the RAIN came.  It was about 20 minutes of rain-- and then done for the rest of the weekend.  It was BEAUTIFUL.  Clay's Mom and Richard came up as well as my parents and Carson for lunch one day. We played kick the can which is always a kid favorite.  It was tons of fun! And yes-- still LOVE the trailer.  I could just imagine what it would have been like if it was raining and we were all in a tent.  ICK!
