Sunday Pictures

Today has been a nice day. I got a nap in which was so nice and hasn't happened for a long time. Jackson is doing so well at night. Lately he has gone about 7+ hours at night. The past couple nights it's been Madi keeping me up... Friday night we were at G'ma & G'pa Anderson's so she was excited and had a hard time going to sleep. Lastnight we told Madi that this was her last week of nursery and that she was going to be a Sunbeam in Primary and I think she got nervous about that. I heard her crying in her bed so I went in there and she said she didn't want to be a Sunbeam. She went into singing time in Primary today and she loved it. Gary was in there with the YM substituting a class and he said she was singing a lot of the songs. I think she will do just fine. Today Madi and Gary went on another adventure. They went out into the FREEZING cold and went to Utah Lake to throw ice. Gary couldn't get Madi to come home. She had a lot of fun. We are learning that Jackson doesn't like to sit down, he likes to be up so he can see everything that is going on. Our friend gave us this great Excersaucer that Jackson has enjoyed sitting/standing in. He doesn't really play with the toys or anything yet, he just likes to look around. Here are some pictures from today. Talk to you later!!

TOO Much Laundry!!!!!!!!!!!

So Christmas is over and it's frustrating because I just can't get caught up!! I swear there is a little laundry elf that comes in our house at night and adds things to my pile! Laundry is one of those things I really don't enjoy doing.. I would much rather do dishes or even clean the toilets than do laundry. I like washing the clothes, but they never get put away and it just piles up!! I must admit that now that I have switched to Tide detergent I enjoy doing it more.. At least my clothes smell cleaner. When I used the Kirkland brand detergent I never got that fresh, clean smell when the clothes were done. I am surprised how much more laundry I have with two kids and not one. Jackson goes through at least three outfits a day and every time I feed him he spits up so much I go through two or three burp cloths! I guess it's just frustrating because laundry is something you will never overcome or finish up.. It is never ending and it's a little overwhelming to me. If I can see the light at the end of the tunnel on a project it helps me get through it and finish it up, but I am realizing that there will never be a light at the end of this tunnel.. I might hit the light for a couple hours or so, but then I'll hit another tunnel and I start all over again. Oh well.. Hey speaking of laundry, I have a TON to put away. I better get busy..

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Image
Well, the day has finally come and gone already! Gary and I had a lot of fun with Madi and Jackson. On Christmas Eve Santa's Elves brought them some PJs and a book to read about the birth of Christ we read before bedtime. A big snow storm blew in which added to the excitement of the holidays!!
Image
We also drove around town to see everyone's lights! Madi loves Christmas lights. We took some of our traditional bran muffins to some friends, including my Aunt Karen who lives about 10 minutes away. Gary shot some pool with Uncle Pete and Madi and I played with Aunt Karen on their new ski ball machine!! We had lots of fun. We finally made it home at about 9:30 and got the kids into bed so that Santa could come.
Christmas morning Madi came into our room around 7:30, but didn't realize what was downstairs. I said to her, "Merry Christmas Madi!" Her reply was, "Merry Christmas to you too Mom!" She wanted to watch some cartoons so we let her while Gary and I showered and got ready. Jackson woke up so we decided to head downstairs. I asked Madi if Santa had come yet and she replied, "NO"... Well we told her to go down and look in her stocking to see if there was anything there. She got half way down the stairs, gasped, and walked over to her stocking to find an umbrella (that's what she told Santa she wanted), some bath toys, a Dora Book, a toothbrush, some soap in the shape of a duck, and some princess chapstick
Image
Santa brought Madison and Jackson some books, and a Plasma Car. Mom and Dad got Madi some clothes, and a Leap Frog gaming system you play on the TV, and another pair of Cinderella PJs. Gary's main present was a big picture of George Washington praying at Valley Forge. He had been wanting this picture for years so I thought it was time to get it for him. I also got him a T-shirt from his favorite fly fishing shop in West Yellowstone. Madi & Jackson got Gary some hand tools and a flashlight.I got a gift card to Pampered Chef, and MP3 player, some kitchen stuff, and a BIG thing of cookie cutters from Madi & Jackson. Jackson got some fun rattles, and an outfit.
After our celebration at home we packed up the kids and headed for Grandma and Grandpa's house! We had a great time in SLC at G'ma and G'pa Myers. We had a great breakfast of bran muffins and stuffed french toast. We had fun opening presents and playing/visiting with G'ma, G'pa, Bryce, Lisha, & Kayla! Madi got lots of Dora stuff and Jackson just enjoyed the company and flashed a couple smiles here and there.

After a great morning at G'ma & G'pa Myer's we headed to Bountiful to G'ma & G'pa Anderson's house. Waiting there for us was G'ma, G'pa, Kristen, Clay, Jack, Grace, Max, Eric, Ginger, Cody, & Tristen. We arrived just as they were finishing lunch. We visited for awhile and then opened the gifts! Before we opened our presents from each other Grandpa talked to us about the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. It was nice to take a step back and be reminded of what this day is really about. It's important for all of us to continue to be reminded of this and it's our responsibility as parents to teach our children this. We all gave and received some great stuff! Later that evening Jack, Grace, Max, & Madi took a bath to clean up!!
Image
After everyone got dressed they played on the stairs for awhile!!

We finally came home around 9:00. Both the kids were sound asleep when we got home so they went straight to bed. I am the type of person that when Christmas Day is over the decorations get put away. I started cleaning up and putting the decorations away. I guess I do this b/c I feel like you are gearing up for Christmas for SO long and when the day is over I am ready to clean up and get ready for something new, like a fresh start. With neighbor gifts, Christmas cards, and just the hussle and bussle of this time of year the house has gone on the way side.. I have a lot of catching up to do..
Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you had a wonderful and magical day. Thank you everyone for your generosity and most important you love and friendship! Have a great new year!!

Christmas Lights!!

Last night we took Madi and Jackson to Thanksgiving Point to see their Christmas lights! Madi loved it! On the way home we stopped and took a video of her favorite house in the neighborhood. She calls it "the blinking house" because of the lights. Here are some pictures we got tonight! Merry Christmas!!

Now This Is What They're Supposed To Look Like!

Image
This last summer Gary, Madi, & I went up to Washington to help my brother at his beach house.. I was so excited to make these sweet rolls for them and when I made them they were a total flop!! They didn't rise very well and weren't what I had hoped for. I just blamed it on the altitude hoping that was the problem. Well, today I gave it another shot and they turned out a lot better. I think next time I will put them closer together so they rise up rather than rise side-to-side... I am going to start a neighborhood elf tonight and I think I will take these for the goodies. My sweet friend, Tara had the elf on her blog so I am going to pass it on to others to start in their neighborhoods!! Just click on the Elf and the instructions and print them off!! Your kids will love leaving them on the porch and running as fast as they can. I remember doing stuff like this when I was little!! It was the only time you could doorbell ditch and not get in trouble. Have a great night!!

Thanks Grandma Myers!!!

Every Christmas Grandma Myers gives us a BIG bag of presents to start opening on December 1st and there are enough presents in the bag to open until Christmas. Each gift has a scripture on it and the gift inside coordinates with that scripture! SO MUCH WORK for Grandma, but Madi loves that Grandma does it for us and ALL the other Grandkids!! Every year Madi looks forward to opening the present that reads "Let your light so shine" because in that present is a flashlight and Madi loves to play with flashlights!!! Thanks again Grandma!

Pulling My Hair Out!!

Okay, I really think that babies are easier than dogs.. It's pretty sad that it's easier to take care of my two month old son than my two year old dog!! Talk about patience. It all started a month or so ago when Casey went hunting and came back with his eyes all messed up.. In the past when this has happened his eye would clear up after a couple days. Well, not this time. It turns out this time he scratched his eye on some kind of bush or sage brush while hunting. He's been to the vet three times, slept at the vet's one night, and then today we went to another vet for a second opinion. I got a second opinion b/c there is white stuff in his eye, which turned out to be scar tissue (the vet said it should clear up on it's own), and you'd think that after three weeks of antibiotics he'd be better.. Well, his three medications weren't enough, now he's on four and is a full blown CONE HEAD!!! He has to wear the cone so he'll stop scratching his eye. Apparently that's why he's not getting better. Tonight I was at the end of my rope between Jackson, Madi, and the dog... It's a good thing Gary got home from YM. Well, here is a video of Casey sporting his new cone. Madi and Jackson are both in bed and Gary is watching TV with Casey, finally, some alone time. AAAHHHH!!! Well, have a great night. I am going to go over to Lisha's house for some homemade apple pie her VT brought her today, YUMMY!!

Blast From The Past!!

Growing up on 1950 South in Bountiful I played pretty much everyday with my best friends, Jill and Julie Hannie! Well, we have kept in touch and today all of us got together with our kids so they could play together while we caught up on life! We're all doing great and it was so fun to see our kids play together. Here is a picture of all our kids (except for the three babies who were sleeping).

Starting from the left there is Madi. Next to Madi is Whitney, Jill's daughter. Jill also has a little baby named Sage. Next to Whitney is Morgan & Shaylee, Julie's daughters. Julie also has a little baby named Sidney.

We had a great time today! Thanks Jill for letting us play at your house!

Oh, The Good Ol' Days!

The other day I was up at Gary's parents house and I came across this picture.. I thought it was worth posting! Gary and Bryce were pretty tough in their cowboy outfits!!! I think it's great that Gary and Bryce were such good friends growing up.

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree!!

Tonight we decided to put up our Christmas tree. Last night Madi, Jackson, & I went to Joanne's Fabric and all their Christmas stuff was 50% off so I let Madi pick out some ornaments for the tree. Well, we put on our normal ornaments, Madi's ornaments, and LITERALLY every ornament we own.. I don't think I have ever used ALL the ornaments in the same year. Madi was so excited she just kept going back for more and how can I tell her no when she is so excited. It's a good thing we ran out because I don't think we could have fit much more on. Jackson slept through all the festivities.. Oh well, there's always next year. I think this year will be a great/fun year for Madi and Gary & I. Madi is really getting into the Santa thing. Tonight she said that Santa is her favorite friend while she was looking at her Santa pictures from last year. While we were putting everything up Madi went and got the camera. She took SOOO many pictures. She took pictures of me decorating the tree to pictures of the box the tree came in. I love having digital cameras, it's nice to take as many pictures as you'd like and then delete the ones that weren't so great. We hope you all have fun setting up your Christmas decorations! Love you.

COLD Sunday Walk...

Today Gary wanted to go on a walk so we bundled the kids up and went for a cold Sunday walk. While we were walking I tried to get Jackson to smile and I got a little one out of him. He is starting to smile more and more and I love it!! He usually smiles the most in the mornings.

Madi's Big Girl Bed..

The other night Madi came in our room and said she didn't want to sleep in her bed.. She said she wanted to sleep in our big bed. I told her she couldn't, but that she could sleep in the computer room bed. There is a twin size bed in the computer room. She slept in there for a couple nights and she loved it. Gary and I have been talking about getting Madison a bigger bed soon anyways so the timing worked out well. The crib we bought her when we moved to Vegas is a crib that can be changed into a full size bed later on. We finally did it.. The sweet baby girl that once looked SO tiny in her crib has now graduated into a "big girl" bed. I can't believe how fast she is growing!! Madi wanted to take a picture of her bed and get a copy of it so she can take it to Preschool for show & tell on Thursday.. Here is the picture we got!! Madi I love you so much!! You're awesome!!!

Jackson And His Mobile..

My brother Dave, and his wife Amy gave Jackson this great mobile that we put on Jackson's crib!! Whenever I turn it on for him I can see in his eyes that he is smiling. I thought I would take a video.. He is starting to smile more and more each day!!! Oh, he is so much fun!

Here's another cute video of Jackson laying on our bed watching his music toy. I put him under this when I took a shower... He loves this!

Jackson's Blessing!!

Well, Jackson is already 2 months old!! The time has gone so fast! On Sunday, November 11, 2007 Jackson was blessed by his Dad, Gary. Gary did such a great job and gave Jackson a beautiful blessing.
After the blessing we came back over to our house with G'ma & G'pa Anderson, The DeGraff family, Bryan & Lisa's family, & Bryce. G'ma & G'pa Myers were able to make it to the blessing, but couldn't make it over to the house. G'ma Myers just had her knee replaced the week before, I thought she was doing great just to make it to the blessing. Lisha & Makayla were home sick, we were sad they weren't able to make it.. At our house we had yummy pancakes, bacon, sausage, and OJ. Thanks everyone for coming and supporting us! We love you.
Today I went over to my friend, Lannie's house and she was so nice to take some pictures of Jackson in his blessing outfit. Here are some of the best ones we got! Have a great day.

Something To Think About...

Today started as a good day, but by late afternoon I was DONE!!! I was short tempered and really just wanted to go to bed and it was only 6:00.... I looked at a friends blog and read this.. It brought things into perspective for me.. I thought I would share..

Sometimes the pattern of life seems a little monotonous--and discouraging. It is like climbing a mountain and, after reaching the top, getting knocked back down to the bottom to climb it again; but I guess the fun is in the climbing and not the arriving. I hope so!

Have a great night... I'm going to bed!!!

More Dress-Up!!!

WOW!! Monday was such a fun & busy day for us! It all started in Provo at Kristen's church. Kristen and one of her friends threw a Halloween dress-up party for all the kids. There were a fish pond of toys, crafts, a fun costume parade and LOTS of candy. Here are some pictures for that party..

Trick-Or-Treat!!!

Tonight was our ward Halloween Party!! It started with a "Trunk-Or-Treat" and then we all went inside for some dinner! Everything was great. Gary and I were Doctors, Madi was Snow White, and Jackson was a caterpillar! The party started at 4:00 and ended at 5:30 so after we went over to our friends house to play a game called Settlers. It's a stategy game that takes a long time to play, but the time goes quickly. We didn't get home until about 11:00 so Madi was very ready for bed (Jackson just slept while we played the game). Gary won the game tonight... Congrats Gary!! We have a couple more Halloween Parties to go to so I might post more Halloween pictures later, we'll see. Here are some pictures from tonight. Have a great weekend!

Jealousy Issues????

Today I was in Jackson's room and Casey came in and climbed into Jackson old bed. I thought it was funny... I guess Casey is feeling a little neglected.

Quick Logan Trip...

This weekend we went to Pocatello and on the way home we took the scenic route through Logan! Oh, how I miss Cache Valley, our home away from home. The weather was perfect, in the mid 50s, just the right amount of "crisp" in the air! The leaves were beautiful and it was great to walk around USUs campus again!
