Santa's Lap??? Again, Not This Year!!

Last night was our Ward Christmas party and there was a very special guest! As soon as Santa walked in I told Madi to run and get in line. My friend caught this sweet little moment of Madi and Santa.
Image
And here is what is turning into a traditional picture for the Myers family. Madi happy and smiling on Santa's lap and Jackson crying to get off!! Oh well, maybe next year!! He wasn't feeling very well last night, we'll just blame it on that!!

Christmas Tree, My Christmas Tree...

Image
Madi has been counting down the days for a couple weeks now to as to when we could put the tree up! Well, the day finally came! We did it last night and had a lot of fun! After we were done Madi and Jackson danced for about 45 minutes to the Polar Express soundtrack! Earlier that day Madi and I decorated her gingerbread house G'ma Anderson gave her. I thought it turned out pretty good! We had a great night together.

Our Ward's Trash Bash!

Image
Last Saturday our family attended our Ward Party. We went around our ward boundaries and picked up garbage. I told Gary to stay home at first because Jackson had just fallen asleep for his nap. So Madi and I bundled up and headed out. I was so proud of Madi, she didn't complain once! She was very careful to make sure she got EVERY last tiny piece of garbage!! Good job Madi, I had fun with you. After we were done picking up trash we all met at the church for dinner! We had a great time!!

It's Autumn Time, the Leaves are Falling Down!

Image
Madi loves this time of year for a couple different reasons. Well, the other day she got to enjoy one of those reasons, playing and jumping in the leaves. She even got Jackson and Caroline out there to play too! We had a great time!

Rise & Shine!!

Image
The other morning Gary's alarm went off and of course he just stayed in bed. Well, I wasn't about to get out of my warm bed to turn it off so we just let it play. At least it was KSL so I could listen to the news... Anyways, I then hear Jackson's door swing open and hit the wall. I heard him running down the hall and then he says while climbing our dresser, "I got it, Dad, I got it." Thanks Jackson for turning off Dad's alarm clock! Jackson is always doing things that make us laugh.

Idaho Pheasant Hunt & The Pumpkin Walk 2010

We have made a tradition on Gary's family to go hunting as a big family every year. When we go it's usually pretty good weather so we don't get cold, but it's just cold enough that there's a crisp in the air and you know autumn is coming. Well, this year we continued this tradition and headed up to Northern Utah a couple weeks ago. Madi loves staying in hotels so we got a room again this year and went to Logan and relaxed. We went to Olive Garden for dinner, again Madi's choice. After dinner we went up to the USU bookstore and bought some stuff for the kids and then walked around campus for awhile. It's so beautiful up there this time of year. Autumn was mine and Gary's favorite time of year when we went to school up there. We later headed up to North Logan to the Pumpkin Walk. Madi absolutely loves this and really looks forward to it every year. Jackson had fun this year too now that he's a little older. He was really interested in the pumpkins that were lit. He kept opening the tops of the pumpkins to see the candle inside. After the pumpkin walk we headed over to the USU Creamery to get some Aggie Ice Cream!! YUM!! We had a great night together, but were tired so we headed back to the hotel.
Image
Bright and early the next morning we woke up to get ready for our pheasant hunt. Gary's parents and brother were meeting us at 7:30 so we had to hurry and get ready and go eat our breakfast. It was a beautiful day and we had so much fun together. I was sad I wasn't able to walk with Gary as much as I normally do, due to the fact that I'm preggers and all. Oh well, hopefully next year! Madi had a blast with her cousin, Kayla, and Jackson got tired really fast. We had really worn him out over the past couple of days. Thanks Gary for taking us up to ID again this year! It was fun!

What Else Would We Do The FHE Before Halloween??

Image
Madi reminded us tonight that we still needed to carve pumpkins for Halloween. We went to Walmart and they were all sold out of pumpkins. Thankfully Smith's had some so we headed home to carve our pumpkins. Jackson didn't really care about it and ended up playing with Gary the whole time while Madi and I carved. Madi and I had fun together! Thanks Madi for the friendly reminder that we STILL needed to carve our pumpkins!!

Here's What I Did Yesterday!!

Image
I have always loved Fall. I love the changing of the leaves, the temperatures, and I love the SMELLS!!! When I was young I remember my parents taking us out to the backyard and having us help them pick grapes. My Mom would then steam them and make grape juice! I absolutely loved the way it made the house smell. Now that I'm older and have kiddies of my own I get to create the same memories with them. Except we go to Grandma and Grandpa Myers to pick the grapes (thank you sooo much)! I love how a smell can take you back in time and you can have that cozy feeling of being young again! Now we have some juice to enjoy all year long!!

Sprinkler Weather??? Guess So....

Image
Here it it, October 14th and the kids want to run in the sprinklers. I must admit, the weather was wonderful today. Jackson wanted his on and the other two followed. I figure if they get cold they'll come inside right!!??? Happy Autumn everyone!!

Thanksgiving Point Pumpkin Weigh-off!

Image
A couple weeks ago we headed over to Thanksgiving Point. They were having their annual pumpkin weighing contest. As you can see there were some pretty big pumpkins there. We weren't able to stay for the entire thing due to a temper tantrum, but while we were there we had fun. Madi had fun making crafts and Jackson loved the big pumpkins. Hopefully next year we'll get to stay longer!!

We Love You Grandpa!

Image
Last night my sweet Grandpa Anderson passed away. Grandpa you were such a great Man who did so many wonderful things in your life. You were a great Grandpa and I always knew that you loved me. I know you had a strong testimony of the Gospel and I know that you served and loved your Savior, Jesus Christ! I will miss you smile, your one liner jokes that always cracked me up, and I'll miss hearing you say, "Hey, Sugar, I sure love you." Love you too Grandpa!!

Thank you Bryan for putting this together!!! You're right, I should have grabbed a tissue. I hope you don't mind me putting it on here so I can see it often.

Happy 3rd Birthday Jackson!

Image
Jackson's birthday was yesterday, September 12, 2007. I can't believe he's 3 already! He's such a fun little guy to have around. We started with a birthday party with G'ma & G'pa Myers on Saturday night. They gave him a Jr. tool kit, so cute!! Gary, Madi, and I gave Jackson a soccer ball, some books, and a nerf gun. We had some cake and ice cream together and had a lot of fun. Sunday night we went up to G'ma & G'pa Anderson's house to have another party with them. They gave him a shirt, a puzzle, and a Backyardigans DVD, Robot Repairman... He also go a baseball and some sidewalk chalk from his cousins! Jackson had a great birthday this year. Today we went to his three year check-up at the Dr. and he is still measuring off the charts. I love having such a big boy, he's great!

She's Gone ALL Day!!!!

Image
Today Jackson and I took Madi over to school. Madison was so excited. I think I was more nervous than she was. We got there early so I could pay for her lunches for the first little while and then we went outside and played on the playground until it was time to go in. The bell finally rang and Madi was ready to go. I had to grab her and get a picture with her before she went in, even though she didn't want to. She got in line with her class and immediately found her best friend Caroline, who is also in her class. I'm so excited for Madison and her new year in 1st grade. She loves school and loves meeting new people so I think she'll do great! Love you Madi and good luck to day!

I Love......

Image
That Madi is that daughter that ALWAYS picks wildflowers for me whenever we're in the mountains! We went up Little Cottonwood Canyon today with Gary's family for some lunch and I didn't leave empty handed! Thanks Madi, I love you!

Family Lagoon Day...

Well, we made it to Lagoon this year. We went with Gary's brother and his family, and his sister and her family. His sister was in town from Houston and they really wanted to go so we headed north. We were there from open until close. Gary and I are both happy to check Lagoon of our list of Summer things to do. Madi was SOOO excited to go on the "loopty-loop" aka: Colosus. She loved it. Jackson was a little nervous on his first ride. He covered his face the whole time. Here's some the pictures I got.

Up In The Mountains!!

We have gone on a couple camping trips this summer with the trailer Gary's parents gave us. Here are some pictures of the latest camping trips we've taken together!

A month or so ago Gary took us up to a place above Strawberry called Currant Creek. We loved it up there. Perfect place for the kids and Casey loved swimming in the water when he wasn't tied up to the tree. There was even a little playground for the kids! Oh, and we went fishing and I caught the biggest fish!! Yay me!
Image

And the latest camping trip was one my Mom planned. We went up by Payson lakes to Blackhawk campground. All the kids had fun playing in the water and roasting marshmallows! Thanks for planning that Mom, we had a great time.
Image

This picture of Jackson really made me laugh. Just his facial expression and his pose. He must think he's pretty hot stuff! Love you Jackson!
Image

I can't believe school starts this month!! Hopefully we'll go on at least one more camping trip before Madi heads back to school!

LOOK What Madi Can Do!!!

Image
Awhile back we told Madi that if she learned to ride a bike we'd go to Lagoon, buy her a bell for her bike, and tonight to sweeten the deal Gary said he's take her to get an Icee. Well, we weren't sure if we were going to make that Icee run or not, but we DID!!! Good job Madi, you did awesome!

Thanks Caroline and Ashlynn for cheering Madi on!!

Topaz Mountain Camp Out!

For a couple years now Gary and my Dad have talked about going camping out to Topaz Mtn. and hunting for some topaz. We finally did it a couple weeks ago and it ended up being pretty fun! Here are the pictures we got!

Here's our campsite. We got a fire started so we could make some s'mores (YUM!).. We camped right by this pretty rock/hill.. The kids had fun climbing around on it.
Image
Image
Image
After our yummy hamburgers and s'mores we got settled and ready for bed. We taught Madi the proper way to wish on a star.. "Star light, star bright, first star I see tonight."
Image
Jackson and I got some reading time in!
Image
The next morning we got up way too early, had some cold cereal and helped Jackson walk around on that big rock/hill by our campsite. Casey had a blast running around and exploring! Madi had already found a friend, Rilee, to play with and was out exploring with her.
ImageImage
After playing we headed to this big pile of rocks a very nice guy told us about and we began our hunt for topaz.
Image
After a lot of banging with the hammer and chipping with the screwdriver we came up with this..
Image
Image
We had fun, but I think out next campout will be in the mountains with lots of trees for shade!!

Here's What We'll Be Doing A Lot This Summer!!

Recently we went up to the Living Planet Aquarium with my sister and her kids. We decided to get an annual pass so that we can go whenever we want!! The kids loved it so why not, right??

Pet Day @ School Today!

About a month ago Madi told me there was going to be a "Pet Day" at school. She was so excited and said she wanted to bring Casey. I took him over and all the kids got to ask whatever question they wanted. The most asked question was, "how old is your dog?". I had fun over there with Madi! Love you Madi!

Fishing at Strawberry during the Ice Off...

Image
Every year Gary takes us fishing up to Strawberry just as the ice is melting. Apparently the fishing is really good this time of year because the fish are all really hungry. Well we haven't had much luck in the past, but this year we did better!!

Here's how our trip looked driving up the Daniel's Canyon to Strawberry. I didn't think we'd be able to fish that day because of the rain and the freezing temps!!
Image
Here's what the kids did when I told them to be silly... Hey it was a long drive, I had to do something to keep them entertained.
Image
Image
Here's Gary teaching Jackson how to fish. Jackson was so interested and really wanted to participate in the fishing adventure.
Image
I swear Jackson has no feeling in his feet. He kept playing in the freezing ice water.
Image
Fish number one... Not too big.
Image
Fish number two.
Image
Here's fish number three, the biggest one. It measured in about 24 inches long. Madi wanted to keep it, but Gary and I didn't have it in us to kill that beautiful fish..
