Halfway Mark!

Now instead of counting up, I think I'm going to count down! So.... only 19 weeks to go! I'm excited. I can finally feel her moving now. And just this morning it's been more than just rolling around, I've actually felt little kicks and nudges. It's so cool! Feeling her move has made it so real now. I can't believe we're going to be parents. Image Here is the classic side-view-belly-shot. Enjoy. hehe This is more for my record than anything else.

Image We had a fabulous Christmas together. No pictures though, dang it. We got lots of cute baby stuff, some gift cards and lots of tools. George wants to build stuff so bad now! We also are normal people now that actually have games. We got Apples to Apples, Trouble, Scrabble and Monopoly. Now we can have people over to play!! Friday we just sat around the house then went and saw "Seven Pounds". Great movie. Sort of confusing for the true blonde though. I need to see it again. We had George's brothers and friend over on Thursday night to play games and my family over Friday night to play games. We had a blast. Yesterday we went over to the Gunderson's and played Guitar Hero. Love that game. And now George loves it so hopefully we'll get it someday for our Wii. It's been really nice to just lounge around and not have any plans. Back to the grind on Monday!

The Husband....

I'm sure many of you have a husband similar to my own. Let me explain. A week or so after Thanksgiving we discussed about how much money we would spend on each other for Christmas and limiting the gifts to only a couple each. Now, "a couple" to me would be 2 MAYBE 3 gifts each. Totally fine! I finished my 2 gifts last week. George came home saturday with 4. So I got two more today and he came home with another one. Rude. Sweet, but rude. :o) I remember this discussion that my mom and dad had almost every year for every Christmas or whatever. "Only one thing ok?" and my dad ALWAYS got more than one, or spent more money. It always made my mom mad and now I know why. I feel like I have to out-do my own husband... not ok. Maybe that wasn't her reasoning. I'd like to know mom!
I'm excited to be with family tomorrow for Christmas. It'll be great. Tonight I am making a fancy Christmas Eve dinner just for the two of us. Bread with oil and vinegar, Italian salad, Pork loin and Twice baked potatoes, and chocolate covered gelato (thank you costco). YUM. My mom always made a really nice dinner for Christmas Eve. We always had it on the China with the pretty silverware and goblets for our ice water. And candles. I remember this one year my mom went all out and served the dinner in courses. It was so fun and very memorable. I'm excited to bring the fancy dinner tradition to my own family. Oh, because I know you all are on the edge of your seats, we have finally decided that our little girls name will be Charlotte Luella.
Love you all! MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Hell froze over :o)

It totally did!!! Oh man it started snowing yesterday around 11am and didn't stop until late in the evening. It was so so beautiful. Most snow since 1979! It's so crazy, I was wondering why the city was in a panic because of a mere 3-6 inches of snow in the valley. The reason why was explained to me on the news yesterday. There are only 12 snowplows in the entire Clark County (big county), and we don't keep things on hand like salt to de-ice the roads. So it was scary. Oh and no one here has snow tires, so the roads were all at 20mph and the freeways at maybe 40. I love it. I didn't get to enjoy it until around 5pm when it was dark so these pictures are kind of dark. Anyway, it was so beautiful. I loved it!! ImageImage

It's.... a......

GIRL!!!!! BAH!!! I seriously cannot tell you how stinkin' excited I am! George is so happy too. He was completely expecting it to be a boy (doesn't every guy?) and took a little ego shot when he was wrong. But he got over it quick and we both can't wait to see what our little Charlotte will look like. What do you think about these middle names??
Charlotte Luella
Charlotte Joan
We have narrowed it down to these two. Luella is my Grandma's name and Joan is one of my wonderful aunt's name. So there is SOME significance. We'll see what we decide.
Anyway, I am in search of any blogs or websites any of you have seen that show you how to make cute baby headbands and bows, so let me know!

BAH! I JUST CAN"T WAIT!!!

Image Only 2 more days and we'll get to find out if this cute little Hunt inside of me is a boy or girl!! I am so excited!! I was at Target getting some little decorations and found this ADORABLE tiny stocking to match our stockings! Oh I just love it. I know some people might think it's weird that I got a stocking for our unborn child, but you know what?? I don't care! It's my baby and I am so excited for him/her to be here with us. So I got the stocking and hung it up. Love it. Image

Fun tag.... You're it!

I'm glad someone started a new one because I was getting bored with all the photo tags. Anyway, here it is. TRY IT!!

1. Pick up the nearest book of at least 123 pages. Don't pick the coolest or most impressive one, just the NEAREST one.
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence and post it!
4. Spread this tag to as many people as you can.

Ok so here is mine. The book is called "Japanese-English, English-Japanese Dictionary". Ha ha, George always has it out so he can look up random things. Since there aren't sentences, I went to page 123 and am just posting the fifth word... kekkon suru, adj. (then there's a bunch of kanji writing) get married. Ha ha, kind of funny. It's a sign to all the single women out there :) jk

Dear Ford Taurus,

Now, for the past year you have been more or less a trusty car for George and I. About 2 months ago you decided that you are just done, huh? I realize that you have almost 200k miles on you, you've worked hard! And we appreciate that! Maybe we (or I) don't show that appreciation like we/I should. So I am here to say, I'm sorry. Right now we really don't want (can't) replace you. And the things that are starting to not work, are just too expensive for you... not that you're not worth it! Anyway, again, I'm sorry, but would you please just toughen up a little bit and work for just another 5 or 6 months? That's all I'm asking. Thank you for your hard work in the past. Much appreciated :)
Sincerely,
Rebecca

I love Christmas

First of all, I love this time of year. Second, I hate my camera. It is so temperamental. And I can't figure out when to use what feature and blah, blah, blah. They need a really good camera that takes magnificent pictures but is easier than cake to operate. Don't you agree?
I love the idea behind this picture though. George made a fire and earlier today he set up the tree for me. He took the picture and then said that from this angle it looked really good. I agree, all warm and Christmas-y. Well, I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. FYI on the baby, in about 2 weeks (December 10) we will hopefully find out if it's a boy or girl!! So exciting. Oh and any suggestions... a boy name that is older fashioned, possibly ending in 'n' and sounds good with George as the middle name. We found out that Aiden is like, number 4 in popularity in the US now. We don't want the poor kid to be one of 6 in his class. So we're working on that. And a middle name for Charlotte. Let me know. Oh and for those of you here in Vegas, leave a comment and I'll check it... but.... THE WHOLE MONTH OF DECEMBER, BRING A FRIEND WITH YOU (or family member, just someone who needs some hair therapy :) ) AND RECEIVE A 10% DISCOUNT OF A RETAIL PRODUCT OF YOUR CHOICE, OR BRING A FRIEND AND GET $10 OFF A SERVICE. Let me know which you want when and if you leave a comment. No pressure! Just giving you the opportunity to get all gussied up for the 10 million Christmas parties going on! Image

1 YEAR!

WOW. This is really crazy. Today is our one year wedding anniversary. It really has flown by. Last year a couple days ago was Thanksgiving and because I wanted to make sure my dress fit perfectly, I had salad and green beans. Lame-o. This Thanksgiving will be great! This will not be mushy because I doubt George will look at this anyway. But for my sake only, I'm grateful for the past year and the life lessons I've been able to learn. And I'm so grateful to be married to George. He's a wonderful husband.

I'll blame it on the pregnancy

Forgetting EVERYTHING that is!!!!!! GRRR..... I'm actually getting angry about it now. Someone will tell me something and I focus and listen and seriously two minutes later they'll ask me what I think about what they said a minute ago and for the life of me I cannot remember. Yesterday the girl we visit teach asked if we knew anyone that could lead the music in sacrament meeting for her husband. I volunteered and she was so happy and grateful that it was something they didn't have to think about anymore. Oh yeah so who led the music today? Definitely not me. I'm sitting there singing the sacrament hymn and my VT partner leans over, "Weren't you going to lead today?" BAH!!!! It was also my turn for sharing time today. Now, I've known about this since the beginning of the month... but YES forgot about it until Thursday night at 2:37am. I remember the time because that time fluctuates about 4 minutes every morning for me to get up to go to the bathroom. Man, I love being pregnant.......... :(

Preview to Early Thanksgiving!

Today we are going up to Utah with my family for an early Thanksgiving! We are so so so excited!! I'll have lots of pictures to post later. This morning I baked two pies and some corn muffins (thanks for the recipe Stephanie!) for while we're up there.

I was so sad. This cherry pie's crust broke off. :(

Ants and Egg Sacks...

One of my pregnant friends can totally relate to the following story. For the past couple of weeks I have been having REALLY weird/creepy/petrifying/funny/drug-addict-like dreams. Two nights ago (Halloween) was one of the drug-addict-like dreams. We had some friends over and watched Disturbia (scary one, mom says it sounds like Alfred Hitchcock's "Rear Window") and ate some food. It was nice to just lounge around and watch a scary movie with our husbands. Now, I absolutely HATE scary movies or really anything scary in general. But, I've seen this movie multiple times so it doesn't give me nightmares anymore. Or so I thought... We went to bed around 11:30 and at 1:15 I remember feeling something touching my arm and it itched and I thought there was a bug on me. I was kind of in that so asleep, yet kind of awake at the same time thing. I opened my eyes and because they were all out of focus I "saw" little bugs all over the ceiling. This next part I don't remember, but George said I jumped out of bed all panicky and I go, "George, get up! There's ants and egg sacks all over the ceiling!!" George, all groggy- "Becca, no there's not." I guess I ran over to the other side of the room by the light switch, "I'm going to turn on the light, LOOK!" I turn on the light and George is snickering a little. This is when I completely wake up. I rub my eyes and look around, "Oh, sorry. I'm going back to bed." Ha ha ha. I was so embarrassed when he retold the story to me in the morning. Ants and egg sacks???? Weird. I sounded like a hallucinating drug-addict. I'm not, don't worry. Just pregnant. :)

No, not even a little like that.

So everyone has been asking about names. Yes, we've picked two out. Girl: Charlotte, boy: Aiden. Now, I love Charlotte, not Charly. And I love Charlotte with the middle name Ruth (my mom's name for those who don't know), not Russe. GRRR. Why do people do that? Everyone has tainted my love of the name Charlotte Ruth because of the blasted clothing store in the mall, Charlotte Russe. gag. "Oh cute, you mean like Charlotte Russe?" NO. If I wanted it to be that, I would have said it. So I need a new middle name. I would love for it to start with an 'R'. Also, Aiden's middle name will be Jex. End of story.....

It's a BABY!!

Image

Today was a blast. I had my first ultrasound appointment. George came with me and got to see the baby moving around and he saw the heart beating (still to early to hear). He was so excited! I am so excited too. This weekend was great. I went Saturday through Monday without being nauseous or throwing up!!!! However, I've been sick all day today, lame. The doctor moved my due date up a couple of days. So now I'm due May 17. Here's a picture of our little one. Only 9 more weeks and we'll know if it's a boy or girl. I can't wait! Let me know what you all think it'll be. My mom thinks I'll only have girls. We shall see!!

Lame Dr. Appointment

Well yesterday was my first appointment. It was dumb. I don't think the doctor even touched me. Now don't get me wrong, I really am NOT looking forward to the next 7 months of my privacy being ULTRA invaded... But I was expecting maybe a little more than questions regarding my family medical history, why my acid reflux is SO bad and if caffeine (aka. Diet Coke) is "technically" safe for me to drink. But, my next appointment (TWO WEEKS!!!) I get an ultrasound, YAY! I finally get to see this little bean that is reeking havoc on my insides! It's funny, as each day goes by, I really am getting more and more excited to be a mother. George is getting really excited too. He is going to be a fabulous father. He is so good with our nieces and baby Drew. I hope we get a little boy. I know, I know... I'll be happy with either, as long as he/she is healthy. But really, I would love a family of boys. They have way cooler toys.

Thanks guys!

Thank you all so much for the comments and advice for me. I really appreciate it. I have actually had a good couple of days. I only threw up once yesterday and so far, nothing today. I've discovered that my new favorite place to lose it is in the kitchen sink. I don't know, a little more glamorous than the ceramic bowl on the ground. And I can stand up, barf, clean up and go on with my life...... gag. I hate this. Yesterday I went shopping for some new clothes because mine are fitting tight already... yes I know... I'm a fatty. It was so so fun though. I went into the Motherhood Maternity (you were right Teira, way claustrophobic) and found tons of cute stuff. They even have this pillow thing that you can strap around you too see how humongous you'll be.... yeah, depressing. I felt like a tank. And none of the dresses fit because I'm so tall... grr. So much for being a hot pregnant momma at church. :o) Anyway, it was a nice experience and other than the constant nausea and daily vomiting, I felt a small connection with this child of mine and realized just how excited I am to be a mom, yet also thrilled that it's still 7 months away!

BIG NEWS!!!

Well, I was going to wait a little while longer, but I am in need of advice. I am officially 8 weeks pregnant!! This coming Tuesday is my first appointment and I might be able to hear the heartbeat! I am so so excited, but so so sick. I really hate this and my mom wasn't ever sick while she was pregnant. I've tried a lot of things but can't seem to find a remedy that works. Any ideas?? Let me know asap!

WOW

Well, I love my life. George and I are loving our new place and all the space!! We moved VERY quickly on a Saturday and had everything unpacked and put away by Monday. It was GREAT! I also got released from my nursery calling (I'm actually really sad, I love those kids) and am now the 1st counselor in the Primary Presidency. Crazy, and a ton of work... oh yeah, primary program in 3 weeks!! But it's a great calling and I'm loving it more each week. We can't believe how much the Lord has blessed us in our almost year of marriage. It's funny, when things get harder, I really recognize the Lord's hand in my life. Which, I guess, is His purpose. When we start to get comfortable and not recognize all He does, we are challenged. And now, we are being blessed with a tremendous opportunity to learn and grow in ways we never have before.

BAAAH!!!! (loud scream inside my head)

New rant: Moving, sucks. I was so excited to find a new place, a bigger place, with cheaper rent, painted walls, CUPBOARDS AND CLOSETS. Little did I know that moving is a HUGE deal. And this microscopic apartment we're in now, HA! Who knew we could have THIS MANY BOXES IN MY FRONT ROOM!!! You know, there are only 2 of us living here. AND, I went through my closet and got rid of almost 3/4 of it! SO DID GEORGE!!! So where did all these boxes come from!? And why are they so heavy?! George is in school all day tomorrow and I could be spending my glorious day UNpacking in our new, wonderful condo. But NO! I'm a wimpy girl. The thing about moving is, you still have to live. You still need to eat, shower, use clothing...... so there are still a TON of things that COULD be packed, but no, we are slaves to our human needs. Anyway, for those of you reading this that have moved from somewhere MUCH bigger than a 1 bedroom apartment and are moving MORE that 2 people, bless your heart :)

Sorry about that......

Ok, so the last post was a little emotional and harsh. And I'm sorry. I had a friend call for a haircut a week or so ago and I asked, "So, are we just doing a haircut, or do you want some color?" ONLY so I could mark in my book the right amount of time for her. She goes, "Well, after reading your blog.... I mean, all I really want is a trim." Oh gosh, I felt horrible. So for any of you reading this now, sorry for the rant. I'll still do your hair with a smile on my face, no matter what you would like to do. Why? Because I love my job. I love doing hair and seeing different people everyday, and also the same people every 4-6 weeks. Thank you, consistent clients, and prospective clients as well. Love you all!! :-)

Brown Haired Girl

As most of you know, I am a hairstylist. I have countless women coming in telling me time and time again that they are just so bored with their hair and want to try something new. And what usually ends up happening you ask? "Let's just do the roots and maybe I'll get up the nerve for blonde next time." Or the ever-classic, "Yeah, just a trim." Well, BAH! I don't know why I'm getting so irritated by this, but I feel that my creativity is stunted. I see the same people (with the exception of walk-ins, but they are all the same) every 4-6 weeks and do the same thing every 4-6 weeks. And so..... I'm boycotting against normality and consistency. I too have become the same woman! "Let's just retouch my blonde highlights and a light trim on my ends." BAH AGAIN! So tonight on my way home from a failed visiting teaching attempt and an overwhelmingly emotional day, I stopped at the salon, mixed up a bottle of hair color, and dyed my hair brown. Not really sure how I feel about it yet. And George is still not home, so.... hope he likes it. Anyway, that is my rant for the day. Let me know your thoughts.

The best vacation!

Ok guys, this post is going to be HUGE and filled with pictures! But according to Arian, pictures are the only thing people care about anyway! he he. Well enjoy our fabulous vacation!

They had this Indian guy dancing with a million hula hoops. It was really cool!

Image After our final ride, the Ghost Rider, I was feeling a little sick.... jk, this was totally staged. But this ride was definitely George's favorite roller coaster he has ever ridden!

This was the "Forrest Gump" restaurant we wanted to eat at, but it was already 8PM and they had a 45min wait, and we had an hours drive ahead of us. But it looked cool!

So instead we ate at this little place called, "Rusty's". The food was fantastic!

On our way to San Diego we stopped and picked up these people that were broken down and took them home. In their driveway there was this snake just slithering on down the road! So cool!Image These all are from Sea World.

ImageThis restaurant, "Hodad's", was on Diners, Drive-in's and Dives on the Food Network. It was a cool place with HUMONGOUS hamburgers and DELICIOUS onion rings! Image
Image
ImageGeorge was almost sick! He could only eat half.Image
ImageImageWell, that's all folks. Oh, except one really sad thing. On Saturday after Hodad's we went down on Ocean Beach in San Diego and had a blast playing in the water and jumping waves....... until George got hit by a big one and it knocked his glasses off. He was so sad! We searched for a long time and then finally gave up and decided that some fish really needed those glasses. So all Sunday I had to drive because he is practically blind without his glasses. Poor guy. Other than that, we had so much fun and now we're rested enough to take on this upcoming semester! I'm so happy my sweet husband is going to college. We can't wait for him to be done though!!
