This was a good Texas gardening year! It made up for the crumby one last year, and it was fun!!
So here are the goods (not all harvested at once, but you'll get the idea...).
This box has watermelon, brocolli, and zuccinni(that didn't turn out:()
Here is cucumber, spinach and cantulope in the back and yellow pepper, carrots and red peppers in the front.
Here are my tomatoes, and on the back left I have climbing beans.
Potatoes, beans and peas.
Unfortunately there were quite a few bugs, birds and bunnies that thought my garden was yummy too. I wasn't wanting to put on a bunch of insecticide, and thus lost more things than I wanted, but you live and learn. I am still baffled that the birds and bunnies like my tomatoes so much!!GRRRR!
Peas were the first thing to come on. We didn't get nearly as many as I used to get in Idaho, but they are better in the colder weather that we don't have here.
Beans were good for a while, till it got too hot.
This was this Idaho girls first attempt at potatoes and they did pretty well!
The kids favorites were the bitty one's in my second harvest. Jason even named a few!
Tomatoes just keep coming. A little at a time, but that is just right for us!
This was my best!! (apparently they were heavy, thus Megan's beautiful face!:)) I had never grown cantalope with success eaither. We have gotten about 5 so far, and a few are about the size of a baseball. Cute, but yummy!!
Aren't they pretty?!
Gardening is definately my therapy, and I love it. it has lost it's luster in the 106 degree heat, but only a few months now and I will be able to plant my fall garden! LOVE IT!!
