My Birthday/Christmas
For my birthday and Christmas, Neil bought me tickets to Weezer...my favorite band who we've seen 3 times now. This just wasn't any Weezer concert - it was in NYC! and they played my all time favorite album, The Blue Album! It was one of the first CDs I ever bought way back in 1994, when I was a freshman in high school. 17 years later, Weezer still rocks and so do Neil and I! As awesome as it was just to be at the concert, in a small venue in NYC - it got cooler. Rivers Cuomo (the lead singer) ran out into the crowd and jumped on the sound board right next to us and sang an entire song. I completely freaked out and probably looked like a deranged Justin Bieber fan. Neil snapped a few pics with his phone, of Rivers...not of me thankfully.
We also did a little bit of shopping, saw a show (The Adam's Family) and celebrated Sabrina's birthday. We also had a totally random McDonald's encounter with long lost Dallas/Fish Camp friends Melanie and Trey Jackson. Seriously, we were in the same McDonald's at the same time in NYC - how crazy is that?!? It was a whirlwind 48 hour trip.
Landon spent his time between Aunt Krista and Gigi and of course his cousins. He had a wonderful time until the last night when he got a stomach bug. He seems to be clear of it now...better now than next weekend!

I'm totally geeking out in this picture
It's a good thing I couldn't find the merchandise table
because I would've bought lots of stuff to show my loyalty.
I need some more Weezer accessories to go with my
wristband from their '05 Lollapalooza show.

NorthPark Christmas Fun
We met our sweet friends Lily, Jack and Ben at North Park mall for some pre-Christmas fun. First up was story time with Santa. He's an upscale Santa who tells great stories. The kids all really enjoyed the stories about Trouble the Elf and the dragon that came to the North Pole.

Santa!
Next up was the toy train exhibit at the mall. I took Landon last year and he loved it. They have huge displays and trains running everywhere. It was a little bit crowded, but our kids handled it in stride. They edged their way up to the glass to get a better look. The highlight for Landon were the Thomas and James trains!
They would've sat here forever, if we let them.
Thankfully the promise of french fries tore them away.
We also got to see a couple of kids performance dance groups on our way to lunch. I got a laugh out of the 9 yr old boys hip hop dance class. They were sooo too cool to be dancing at the mall. Ha!
I Sure do Like Those Christmas Cookies, Sugar
In the long standing Brown family tradition, we had 2 school friends over to make Christmas cookies. The kids played and the moms baked and decorated. It was a fun and chaotic morning! I plan to make some more before Christmas is here. These cookies are my absolute favorite!

School Program
Landon had his first ever Christmas program and he was a star. He surprised us by wearing his costume, singing loudly and doing all the motions. He was a total ham! The audience didn't make him nervous and he was so proud to sing his songs. He practically edged out the girl standing next to him. I'm not posting the video because its pretty long, but it is frequently requested by Landon. He likes to sing to himself on video every night.

Merry Christmas in San Antonio
While Neil was on one of his many recent trips to Tokyo, Landon and I packed up the car and headed south to San Antonio. Omie met us there and we visited with both sets of my grandparents. Oma and Opa live in a retirement community and Landon was the hit of the dining room. Everyone wanted to talk to him and he was happy to oblige.

Bass Pro Christmas
I love Bass Pro at Christmas!!!
Hang on Meredith! Landon can't see with that big bow on the windshield.
Working Woman
I'm a working mom. I thought it would be at least another 5ish years before I said that, but a huge opportunity presented itself and I grabbed it. Leanne is loving her job at The Behavior Exchange, which is private behavior therapy for kids with various special needs (and she is soon to become a part owner)! I'm coming on board as a financial analyst and will be working 16hrs a week. I couldn't be more thrilled! This is the kind of opportunity that I can't go out and look for - it had to fall into my lap. I'll be working from home a lot and only when Landon is at school or asleep. The Behavior Exchange is growing quickly and I'm so excited to be a part of such a great company.
Its Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas
After Simon was safely sitting on the mantel, we put on Christmas music and started decorating the tree. Landon wasn't much into decorating, but he loved the star topper. Our tree looks a little bare in the picture. Landon wanted to put the topper on first and Daddy happily lifted him up so he could do it.
Simon the Elf
The morning after Thanksgiving, Simon the Elf came to visit Landon. (I totally stole this idea from Melissa.) We told Landon that he was getting a special visitor and then the doorbell rang! At the front door was Simon and he brought a bag of goodies. Landon was very curious about the elf and asked if he was pretend. We read the book Simon brought, "Elf on a Shelf" to learn the rules about Simon. Ever night Simon flies to the North Pole to report to Santa and every morning Landon finds him sitting in a new place in the house. He points to Simon and says, "Mama, remember you can't touch him or his magic will go away." He actually listened to the story!

Happy Thanksgiving!
No.More.Diapers!
Yep, you read that correctly! The Geurin household is completely diaper free!!! Neil took all of last week off and we went guns blazing into potty training. We did the 3 day potty training method, which requires you to stay at home for 3 days. Landon was a trooper and with lots of m&m's, lolipops and praise he caught on quickly. We've only had two major accidents (puddles) and he's woken up dry from every nap and overnight. I could not be prouder of my big boy!!!

Spider Boy on Halloween Weekend
We are still recovering from Halloween weekend! Landon was a spider because he loves bugs and the costume did not require a hat. We went trick or treating at Neil's work (not pictured), to Main Street in Grapevine, Gigi's school carnival (not pictured), Meredith and Jillian's church carnival and trick or treating in Gigi's neighborhood. Plus...Omie and Gramps were here, Pants bought a wedding dress and the Rangers were in the World Series. Whew!
Here's the costume. I'd planned a cute long sleeve shirt but it was too hot. I also wanted him to wear his black converse but they are too hard to get on and off for the bounce houses. He was the cutest spider ever! He kept telling people that he was a "spooky spider".

lots of our friends out there.

Probably enough to last us until next year!
The Last Pumpkin Patch of the Season
We met our sweet friends Alicia and Kara at Hall's Pumpkin Farm after school one day. It was hot...in the 90s. It was so hot that we abandoned the pumpkin patch after a short time and went for ice cream. We did manage to have a little fun before we left.
